I know this thing is supposed to peak out at about 15Gh/s but for some reason without me doing anything its over 26Gh/s. I'm please but have no idea why this is happening. any explanations?

What frequency are you running them at?

I answered your same post here: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/66387/unable-to-run-the-miner-using-2pac-bm1384-usb-miner/66527#66527

I had a similar problem when I first started with the 2pac. You didn't mention if you are using a Windows or Linux platform, but the solution is similar either way.

Solution: Ensure your cgminer binary is compiled to support the Gekko Science 2Pac. It seems your BM1384 2Pac is not being recognized properly by cgminer.

This output you provided:

"0: AMU GS-10018: | 528.0M / 516.0Mh/s WU: 5.6/m"

...shows that it is being enumerated as an "AMU" (which is usually an ASICMINER block erupter)  It should be "GSC" for a GekkoScience device. That's also why you are seeing the low hash rate and hardware errors.

So, be sure you have a gekko-enabled cgminer binary, and also ensure your batch file points to that same correct binary. (correct path)

When you try to run cgminer with the --gekko-freq XXX option, it will immediately fail. That's because your cgminer.exe is not compiled to support the gekko.  It doesn't recognize any gekko options. (Compile cgminer with "--enable-gekko" to support the 2Pac)  When you run cgminer without the --gekko-freq XXX  option, it will work, but it doesn't identify the 2Pac properly, and enumerates the device incorrectly as "AMU" and therefore doesn't hash properly.

Your batch commands to run cgminer look correct, no problems there.

Here is a link to cgminer with gekko support that I am using: github.com/vthoang/cgminer

If you need more detailed help, please state whether you are on a Windows or Linux platform.

Which is favourable to mine with GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer? Bitcoin or Peercoin ?

I started to mine from yesterday and I have now a credit of 0.00706137 (Peer coins) kinda like 2 cents for 24 hours.....
Should I switch to bitcoin? Or stay with peercoin?

i have mine, compacs not 2pacs, on zpool indirectly mining verge (xvg)

i have a feeling this coin is going to take off in the next few months..

altho currently zpools diff seems to be broken and is stuck at the max so they dont produce many shares.

Compacs are SHA256 algorithm so how are you mining verge (xvg) since its hashing algorithms are Namely, Scrypt, X17, Lyra2rev2, myr-groestl and blake2s.

zpool allows you to set your payout address to any coin they mine..

Good to know thanks for the info, I have also read good things about DigiBytes as well as Verge.
I am going to try to mine for DigiBytes and see what happens.

I have been trying to figure out how to get my 2pacs to work on zpool, all I ever get is stratum requested restart. Then it disconnects. Are you willing to share your secret?

the diff is too high so they disconnect all the time, but they still submit shares.. ?

I will throw them back on and give it some more time, guess I got worried something would break. maybe I can see it accept some shares.

I do BCH and make 5 cent for every 24hours. Never tried peer and bitcoin difficulty is too high.

Also with my new miner, I realized that I can put more into my computer to use more workers. What usb miner offers the largest hash rate for the lowest cost?

Hi. I just got my ASIC miner today and have quickly realized that it gets very hot very fast. How can I keep it cool?

https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Breeze-Mobile-Flexible-Adjustable/dp/B003XN24GY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514223021&sr=8-1&keywords=arctic+breeze+usb+fan

This should do the trick. A bunch of people (myself included) have this and it works great. In the meantime, I believe it is not recommended to run your 2pac above 100 freq until you have a fan on it but I would check just to be sure.

Like any other electronics! fans, air-conditioning, running at slower clock speeds.
Here is my solution

Hello and merry christmas.

I purchased 2 of the 2-paks a couple of weeks ago and have been slowly ramping them up in speed. Great tech. Thanks. I have been unable to get them to run overnight at 300mhz, but they run continuously and without error at 287.5. Well done.

cgminer.exe  --gekko-2pac-freq : unrecognized option

You are using a cgminer without the gekko driver. Read the first post.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
I don't think this device is going to work with peercoin. It's a Bitcoin Miner.

No.

Just like any other Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner it works ok also with other SHA-256 coins, like Peercoin.

But the ideal idea IMO is to point it to a BTC solo pool as a 'lottery ticket' miner.  Smiley
