Think for yourself
And because it's GekkoScience, it will have none of what that guy just suggested.

I certainly wasn't making a suggestion.  I'm not at all on the IOT bandwagon.  I still turn my lights on and off the old fashioned way, with a switch.  Smiley

(like, the brightness would be set by changing some firmware written in assembler and then re-flashing the board)

Sounds great.  As long as it has WiFi and an IOS app to configure it.

The only thing far enough along to talk about is an LED flashlight. I like the lithium-battery aluminum "tactical" flashlights that fit in your pocket, but I don't like how hard it is to find one without all the stupid strobe modes and jagged edges and stuff. So I'm making one that just, you know, turns on and off.

Course because it's GekkoScience, I'm overbuilding the electronics to handle putting out around 800lm even though the default is 300. And because it's GekkoScience, I'm making it hackable such that the brightness is software-adjustable and it has the capacity to do multi-mode as well. If I can find a good lensed housing I'll make one with an adjustable beam too.

I was kinda hoping bitshopper would show up to address Europe stock questions. He's had an order with us that's finally getting shipped so he'll be back in stock of things pretty soon, but I don't know the state of his order backlog so that might not have helped much.

As for the new shop, it's still pretty disorganized and we still have a lot of stuff in storage but the new place is fully functional. It's also a lot better insulated, which is great since we hit zero degrees (approaching -20C) the last couple days. We finally got gravel in the driveway, to replace all the mud and ruts, and my living quarters upstairs are almost finished. Some equipment to help stabilize the internet connection should arrive next week, and the kitchen still needs a fair bit of work. But what matters for you guys is the workbenches, machines and testing stations are all up and running. Goods have been rolling out all year to date. I'm even finding some time for new designs, some of which are not bitcoin-related since I pretty much work on whatever I want.

Cant wait for the new products rolling out. especially now that R606 sales are stable and strong

I spoke to bitshopper before christmas and said he was due to be getting some in but obviously the shop move happened and (as you said) his backlog maybe be considerable and account for the whole order. Nevermind, I've got one on the way now and will probably be back with some daft questions.

Glad to hear its all functional and things have been going well. -20c??? Shocked Thats ridiculous!! Don't neglect the living space, its not good for the wellbeing and your enthusiasm to keep us home gamers supplied with new gear  Grin

Speaking of new gear, what is the stuff your working on? Is it mining related at all?

Shipping isn’t usually any different between the two originating countries but due to the medical issues out there I was hoping someone had one that wouldnt get held up due to the travel restrictions china has placed on companies and individuals etc. Anyway klintay has sorted me out one and hopefully it should be here next week-ish. It will be nice to finally get my hands on one seeing as Ive saved enough for one now.

On a different note, sidehack, how is the shop move going?

Is shipping usually faster from China to the UK then from the US?

US to UK is 5-7 days with USPS Priority Express. anything less and your asking for your package to get lost/damaged.

We are not retail.
Does anyone have the R606 in stock that's not located in China (tried bitshopper as I'm in the UK but still has no stock)? Not that I'm opposed to anything from china normally, just with the current state of medical things over there I was looking at delivery being sooner rather than later.

Eyeboot is in HK and we are still sending things out as normal, only difference is the post office working times are a little shorter than usual (11am to 3pm). People walking about freely here and some even without masks (though I am going masked up myself when out in public). If you want to buy R606, they are in stock and we are doing a post office run tomorrow and then again on Monday after that:

https://www.eyeboot.com/gekkoscience-terminus-r606.html

Also we accept BTC, BCH, ETH, XRP and LTC payment Smiley
Just select Bitpay / Cryptocurrency at checkout...

Have you guys looked at BTCpayserver? It's a fork of bitpay, free and open source.

Is there a tutorial on solo mining with  GekkoScience NewPac on windows using the Bitcoin core wallet? Thanks for you help.

the reseller who sold you your product should have included basic getting started instructions. but you can always refer to page one of this forum: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/gekkoscience-newpac-terminus-r606-bm1387-official-support-thread-5053833.

Thanks for the details Smiley

After overclocking the newpac to 250 (with active cooling) and adding --suggest-diff 128 we are now averaging 55Gh/s and accepting shares...

if your cooling is good enough, you can go up to 400-500-600, or even 650-700.
Running mine for almost a year on 650.
The way i checked, is slowly increasing the frw and just feel with fingers, if i can keep em on newpac its all still ok.
Better way is a electric measurement device
(oh and keep in mind if you overclock warranty can be void).

I'm not sure what those commands are supposed to be for, but I have 2 R606's running great on a Pi4.

Make sure you have the latest build of CGMiner as it is a different version for the R606 than the older stick miners.  But the new version does include support for the sticks too.

There are instructions on the top post explaining the installation process.

There are more detailed instructions, which I used, here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.50968875.

Code:
