In terms of the results I agree with you but in terms of the performances it was less consistent than the results might suggest. I think you know what I mean. Sometimes you have these games where it is on the edge and could go either way. If that is five times the case and it ends in your favor those five times, your statistics look beautiful but they could be disguising actual weaknesses. This is a bit what happened to Dortmund. They had a couple of games where I thought, ok they could have lost this one the same way they now won it. At some point your game luck is exhausted. As soon as they play against stronger opponents you can see that pretty well. Take the games against Chelsea (who struggle themselves) or Bayern. That's when Dortmund quickly reach their limits. Even against other teams the games were very close sometimes. Not to mention the catastrophe against Leipzig in the DFB Pokal...

Every team in the standings deserves a chance if we want to justify their effort, but that doesn't count. Freiburg is one of the teams that could even surprise me if they win their next 7 games because Leizbig has been losing matches as the season winds down.

Leverkusen is desperate to qualify for the Champions League. Leverkusen is still 5 points behind Leipzig. And narrowing this 5-point gap is difficult. I agree with you partially. If i had to pick the 4 teams of the Bundelsiga that will qualify for the Champions League next season then those teams would be Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leizpig and Bayer Leverkusen, because those 4 teams are simply having the strongest squads of the league. I am not so sure though, if Union Berlin can really finish the league on of the top 4 ranks. Just as Freiburg, they are playing way above their expectations in this season so far, but in the last few weeks it was also obvious that they are getting tired now. Both Union and Freiburg have lost their matches on the weekend and if Leverkusen can keep it's momentum, then that 8 point lead of Union does not mean that much, because there are still 21 points to be earned.

I think the teams currently sitting in the European competitions spots will be the same by the end of the season. What might change will be the ranking. I tend to think that Leipzig and Union will qualify for the next Champions League version but considering the weird outcome of Bundesliga games, I am not that very confident to support that.

It is almost certain that Munich and Dortmund will be in the top two of the points table. Because the performance of these two teams is very stable. However, it is still uncertain which two teams will be seen in the third and fourth place of the table. Union Berlin and Leipzig are now third and fourth in the table. However, the performance of these two teams is not regular. Berlin and Leipzig have won 2 of the last 5 matches. Freiburg, which is fifth in the table, is not doing too well.

But the Leverkusen team is in great form right now. This team is consistently playing well and winning all the matches. They have won their last 5 matches. So I guess this team will probably be able to qualify for the Champions League. However, they are 5 points behind Leipzig. But I guess they can reduce this point gap in the next few weeks.

7 matches to go and 2 points difference.

Both have only 1 difficult match ahead , dortmund will have to pass leipzig at may 20th in the kast two matches while dortmund have to face gladbach may 13th . Looks a tight competition but for me it is not. Bayern are a clear winner at this point.

At least they played soccer again against Dortmund. The performance they showed in the DFB Pokal was a pain in the ass and that is even understated.

For the rest of the matches that are still to go Union Berlin will have to find back to their old level. If they don't do that I am pretty sure we are going to see a very close race between them and Bayer Leverkusen. In my opinion anything can happen between 3rd rank and 6th rank. Frankfurt is out of the Champions League business. Anything else would be nuts.
