Before Leverkusen became champions, only Munich and Dortmund were the title contenders. There were almost no other teams at the same level as them. Leipzig and Stuttgart were in second place behind them. And unfortunately Dortmund's performance was inconsistent in every season. They were only able to compete until the middle of the season and after that Munich would dominate the league until they became champions. Only in the 2022/2023 season did Dortmund play impressively and have the same points as Munich, unfortunately they lost on goal difference. But as far as I know Dortmund lost against Munich in the league match that season. This is different from Leverkusen who became the undisputed champion after drawing and winning against the Bundesliga king Bayern Munich.
Will this happen again in the Bundesliga this season, considering that Leverkusen still has strength under the guidance of Xabi Alonso and also Bayern Munich who will be coached by their new coach this season with several important changes that will be implemented later. As for Dortmund, I myself am still not sure that the team will be a contender for the Bundesliga title this season because Dortmund still often sells good players at high prices to other teams and that makes them weak.

Leverkusen's last season's victory does not ensure supremacy here this time. Pre-season challenges point to a decline; their Europa League final loss exposes a discrepancy between local and European performance. Dortmund presents a fantastic opportunity. Leverkusen may find the Champions League distracting, while Bayern is in rebuilding phase. Dortmund must concentrate on savvy team management, though, if it is to grab the title: properly integrate fresh talent and steer clear of shipping off important players to the vultures of larger clubs. This season is about flexibility and strategic depth rather than only who's the greatest on paper. Dortmund must be merciless since this is a merciless, tactical fight. They have to foresee and outmaneuver; they cannot afford to react
The Champions League will take quite a lot of energy from Bayer, yes, last season they also played in the Europa League, but it was a competition of a different level, and the opponents were weaker. Even before the final in the playoffs, everything was not easy for them, but the match with Atalanta showed that the team is not as perfect as they thought. The new season will definitely be more difficult for Bayer, I think the group stage will be enough to see what they are capable of, there will be quite strong opponents.

One thing is for sure, Xabi Alonso will try to make his team perform better than last season because they will compete in the Champions League. The very fierce level of competition means that Xabi Alonso must make his team always perform optimally to continue to survive in the UCL.
Xabi must be able to overcome the test because Leverkusen will face a stronger team in the most elite league in Europe, but looking at the line-up of players that Xabi currently has, they should not be underestimated because they still retain most of the players who managed to achieve success last season.
If Bayer Leverkusen's performance this season 2024/2025 is declining, get ready for Xabi Alonso to be the main topic of conversation in the media and this is a challenge for him even though Xabi Alonso has given Bayer Leverkusen a historical record last season.
Another challenge for Xabi Alonso is the UCL. If Xabi Alonso manages to make a big surprise in the UCL, even though his team's performance in the Bundesliga is not like last season because they could not defend the title, for me Xabi is still extraordinary.

I think even in the first when Bayern Munich sent him an offer they were not interested in hiring Jonathan Tah
to improve the team but they just wanted to hire Jonathan Tah to make Leverkusen lore an effective player.
That's the strategy of Bayern Munich usually had before, even against Dortmund they hired the Drtomund players to make this team weak, and now they want to do the same thing against Leverkusen.
I guess it wasnt that intention first to get away a player from Leverkusen and at the beginning they wanted him really.
If Bayern Munich would be able to get him that would be for sure hurting Levrkusen , but to be honest i am glad that he stay in Leverkusen.
About the past you are right that Munich have done that to weakened other Teams mostly Dortmund was the victim here.

I don't think the board of borrusia Dortmund did made a mistake, it's been in their policy the trade of players be it their star or not, they make good profit of it and at same time are able to breed new set of players that still helps them stay a float such that they always maintain decent stance in the table most often than others does. What I see is happening at this time is the change in the era and breed of players such that what was applicable before may be fading away except if some adjustments are made to get it suiting into the new era least they get the team setting back with their performance and results.
Whether it was a mistake or not, it was a strategy for Dortmund to benefit financially.
Technically when talking about finances then they are clearly very good because a lot of players who Dortmund published have a very large value when used as business material which makes Dortmund's financial strength quite strong because of the profits they have. But when it comes to competition, it is clear that this is not really expected by some fans because of course they want to see their proud club get a trophy in a competition and Dortmund cannot do that because they have their own way of profit.
As long as there are no more demands from the fans then I think Dortmund will continue to do that but when the fans are still comfortable when they are seen as a big club even without any trophies that can be obtained then they will continue to do the same thing.

Leverkusen and Bayern Munich will still be the favorites to win the title this season and I even think the competition this season will be much fiercer because Bayern Munich made many changes in the team.
And overall the competition in the Bundesliga has been quite fierce in the last few seasons we can see that the Bundesliga is getting more competitive.
This season will also be more competitive with more significant changes on the part of Bayern Munich, because the Leverkusen team itself will still be strong enough to make the Bundesliga more interesting to follow by many people besides the Bundesliga fans themselves. I also want to see the two teams meet this season with their level of ability which has been extraordinary so far so that the best will be seen again at their level of dominance this season.
The last two seasons have been very competitive for the Bundesliga because, previously, it would even be won by Dortmund but unfortunately Dortmund could not get the opportunity until then it was still won by Bayern Munich, and finally in the last season Bayern Munich no longer got their seat because it was taken by Bayer Leverkusen with a very far difference.

And for this season it will definitely be more competitive again in the Bundesliga because in terms of Bayern Munich does have a change, Bayer Leverkusen also still maintains its championship squad so other competitors such as Dortmund and Leipzig will definitely have an increase for one season ahead, I am very impatient how the Bundesliga is warm again after several seasons dominated by Bayer Munich.

This format of building and selling of player by Borussia Dortmund is not that bad though, if that’s what actually works for them, they will continue doing it and I don’t think they’ve thought of changing that policy recently. They still lack that vision of being champions no matter how they try and go far in all competitions maybe they should also work on that and not only focus on making money from young player that they sell. Times are really changing and maybe this format may not be good for them again, so they should also look for another means to continue being amongst the best team and also improve their finances also.

I also can't wait to see how Leverkusen will perform in the Champions League this season apart from their performance in the Bundesliga this season. Because Xabi Alonso will definitely try to maintain his good performance again this season even though this may still be doubted by some people because the Champions League competition is a competition full of pressure. And also next season Bayern Munich as their strongest rival has made several changes that may affect their strength in the Bundesliga and also the Champions League.

The performance of Bayern Leverkusen last season have made a lot of people to wonder how their performance in the champions league will be next season, if they can still stand a chance there as they did in the Bundesliga or not. The competition is highly more competitive here and will require that Bayern Leverkusen give more than what they actually had in the last season in their Bundesliga and Europa League participation. They are a team that if they want to stay at the top, they’ve to be consistent in their performance and be at the top in both competitions. Xabi Alonso knows much is expected from him, so he should be prepared to give that much in the upcoming season games.

This will be a challenge for Xabi Alonso to be able to show that he can bring the team he handles to be able to talk a lot in the Champions League. Many people have wanted to see and look forward to their appearance in the Champions League, it is inseparable from their appearance last season which was truly extraordinary. They were able to break the undefeated record for a full season to become champions in the Bundesliga. Mentality is very much needed in the Champions League, because the pressure they will receive in the Champions League will be very large, especially when they meet big teams from other leagues. they are lucky enough because they are still with the coach who brought success and there are still many players who remain in their squad. This will be a good capital for them to compete in the Champions League.

Everyone is looking forward to the new season that will start soon to see how Leverkusen will perform after winning the Bundesliga title last season. To defend the Bundesliga title, Leverkusen could possibly do it, but to win the UCL title, Xabi doesn't need to be too ambitious or at least give the players experience so that they have a mentality that is ready to face the competition in the UCL. Because most people will never believe that Xabi can bring Leverkusen to reach the highest peak in a big competition because there are still Madrid and other teams that are more experienced. So this season Xabi has some big plans to win back the Bundesliga title but he also has to be careful because Bayern Munich will definitely not perform as badly as last season. And there are probably some other teams that will be the strongest challengers, but Leverkusen only needs strong consistency like last season.

Good news for Leverkusen that Jonathan Tah still wants to stay at the club for this season, it is known that Bayern Munich has given up on pursuing this player even though in the end Bayern Munich lost Matthijs de Ligt who reportedly will be sold to Manchester United. Some time ago Jonathan Tah was targeted by Manchester United and Bayern Munich because this player's appearance attracted attention, he kept Leverkusen's defense very solid last season so that his club conceded fewer goals.

Xabi Alonso is still maintaining their mainstay players last season even though his players are being targeted by top clubs, but Leverkusen's management is not at all tempted by selling their players. In fact, Leverkusen added 3 players increasingly improving their performance next season, such as:
  • Martin Terries, a striker from Rennes
  • Aleix García, a midfielder from Girona
  • Jeanuël Belocian, a defender from Rennes

That's the strategy of Bayern Munich usually had before, even against Dortmund they hired the Drtomund players to make this team weak, and now they want to do the same thing against Leverkusen.
However, Uli Hoeneß and Lothar Matthäus both rejected this and they said they were not going to do that. Leverkusen also gave only three days to Bayern Munich to hire this player for 30 million euros so they should not think about Tah anymore.

Deniz Undav has been recognised and he has signed a permanent contract with Stuttgart until 2027. He initially came from Brighton on a season-long loan and Stuttgart bought him for £28M. Stuttgart don't need to worry just because they lost Guirassy who chose to join Dortmund and at least they still have a mainstay striker who will contribute next season.

Last season's statistics were not so bad where from 33 matches in all competitions he has scored 19 goals and in fact he is an underrated striker who is rarely noticed. Now his responsibility will be much greater because not only does he give a good performance for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga but also in the upcoming Champions League and as the axis of attack he must continue to hone his finishing to make it easier for Stuttgart to secure victory.

Before they were confirmed as the German Bundesliga champions last season, Bayer Leverkusen had already been confirmed as one of the teams that'll play in the UEFA Champions League competition this season so it's a not a surprise to them that they'll be playing in Europe's biggest and most prestigious club competition and that's why they're expected to be prepared for what lies ahead of them. Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso have already shown enough managerial abilities for anyone not to undermine his team and I believe they'll have a good campaign come next season.
Yes you are right I agree that Bayer Leverkusen did well last season so it is no surprise they are playing in Champions League. They should be ready for it. Their manager Xabi Alonso is good at his job like we can see how he is managing the team so I think they will do well. He has experience and knows how to make good decisions during games and how to manage the team and players. This will help them in the Champions League. I am excited to see how far they will go in the competition.

I think Bayer Leverkusen performance last season helped them to set the unbeaten record they had last season and the league trophy and cup but coming to this new season they will be faced with a lovor challenges since they will be playing in the champions league competition which will be difficult for them since they are appearing in the champions league after a long time and they will need to also defend their league cup and league title as their biggest rivals Bayern Munich will be fighting to take back their position and win the league back from them so the manager of Leverkusen Xabi Alonso will have a great responsibility to do a better work and to ensure his team gets better next season.
Yes they did well last season, but their current display in this friendly games make me to convince, that it will be difficult for Bayer Leverkusen to perform well in this season, and they have been displaying what will make many people not to support them in this season if they continue this poor performance. I know there is still time for their coach to do what will make them to stand well like a team that will perform well in the  champion league because people are expecting good performance from them in this coming champions league competition since it has been long they participate in champions league competition.

You can't just conclude that Bayner Munich will take back their position in this coming competition, because there are many teams that are coming with new tactics to show their preparation in this champions league for other teams to know that this up coming tournament will be though.

But such a strategy deprives them of the opportunity to become the champion of Germany, since they make too many changes in the team. If you look at the bookmakers' odds for the Champion of Germany, Dortmund's chances are estimated at 13.00, compared to Bayern's 1.52 and Bayer's 3.7. This makes it possible to understand what goals the teams set for themselves, Bayern wants to be the champion and is trying to preserve and only strengthen the team, and for Dortmund it is a business.

Dortmund focusing on business is helping them make lots s of profits for the owners of the club and they just want to continue in that way because they can not be competing with Bayern Munich for the title. Bayern Munich will always be favourite to win and just in one blue moon will other club have the chance to winning hence just focusing in the business side of football is happening Dortmund stay relevent. Dortmund has what it takes to become champions in any league they compete at but they are making more money firm selling players than they'll make form winning trophies. Leverkusen aren't going to be favourites again, they just had one good season hence they should also focus on selling their top players and make profits before the players market value reduces. If it was Dortmund that won the league last season, they would had sold almost all the star players of last season.

Even though Stuttgart may have sold several key players, but the reality is that Stuttgart is also quite active in the player transfer window this time because Stuttgart has also bought several players as well as other  players who have also returned from loan spells. Thus, I think there is still a good chance for Stuttgart to still be able to compete in the top four next  season. But at least,if Stuttgart can still compete at least in the top six, I think Stuttgart will still be good.
Yeb i think that the chances are good that when they doing all right that they can be compete in the top of the table , but the players that left the club hurts really.
Hopefully it happens not the same as we have seen last season to Union Berlin that the playing and the results crash the team.

Stuttgart is not a team that always succeeds in getting into the race for trophies every season.
The season before the last one they was fighting against the relegation into the second league.
To manage to get in the next season into top 6 would be for sure a good result for them.

It will not be too difficult for Dortmund to be able to enter the top 4, as it has happened since the past that this team is consistent enough to stay in the top board but they are not competing for the title.
Indeed Dortmund with their new coach will have a little difficulty but I don't think it's excessive.

Yes, most likely they will be able to, Stuttgart let go of many important players for the team and now I doubt that they will be able to stay at the top of the standings again. We will soon see what they are capable of in the match for the Super Cup with Bayer, by the way, bookmakers offer a odds 1.88 for Bayer to win, which looks pretty good.
And considering that Stuttgart will most likely be uncompetitive in the new season, Dortmund will have three main competitors left, Bayern, Bayer and Leipzig, so yes, they will be in the top 4. But that is not what is interesting, but what Bayern will be like.

In the Bundesliga, I think it will be hard to actually predict what will happen. Because I think in this season Bayern Munich is going to perform a lot better compared to what they did in the last season. And that is going to make the job of Leverkusen a lot harder. There is a very big chance that they will not be able to defend the title successfully. Well, to be honest, there is always a chance that you won’t be able to defend your title when there is a club that has been waiting for the title for 11 years before you were able to win the title. Anyway, there is definitely going to be a big competition between Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, at least that’s what I think.

If we talk about Dortmund, maybe it is possible for them to finish in the top four if they perform well. But that’s the thing, I don’t know if they will actually perform well and constantly throughout the whole season. Because they can be very inconsistent.

Dortmund does this more often than any other team, and this does not prevent them from staying afloat, last season is proof of this, when they were able to reach the Champions League final. Their work on the transfer market is very thoughtful, they not only sell their players but also buy very promising players with whom they can maintain good results, and at the end of the season they can sell for even more than they bought.

But such a strategy deprives them of the opportunity to become the champion of Germany, since they make too many changes in the team.
