The biggest of the German Cup is Hannover 96. They got a very good win in the match played yesterday. To be frank, I considered Gladbach the favourite. I thought they would win. Hannover won clearly 3-0.

It was also pretty shocking to me how poorly Gladbach was performing yesterday. The managed to kicked out FC Bayern in the round before in a extremely convincing way just to deliver such a poor performance in the next round against a team that is only on the 12th place in the second Bundesliga. Somehow Gladbach is just not able to show their true potential for a few games in a row, which is really weird. As you already said, if they continue to play like this they will sooner or later have to fire their coach. For me Leipzig and Freiburg and now big favorites to reach the final of DFB Pokal and Union Berlin also has a chance.

For sure you can say in the DFB Cup it has its one Rules and you never know what will be happen.
We have seen that with Dortmund yesterday and now today Gladbach , even the teams the playing against are in the 2. League or 3 League .

In the league, both are very far from winning. the competition in the League belongs to Dortmund and Munich. we've seen the difference in points gained in the league. the two teams that are at the top are also still showing a good game. hard to think another team could step in and ruin the existing atmosphere.
but outside the league, we can see that Leipzig and Freiburg do have a pretty good performance. in the Champions League Leipzig performed well. so did Freiburg in the DFB Cup. unfortunately, they couldn't overcome Dortmund and Munich's dominance in the League.

M'Gladbach is doing a weird job over there. The coach should tell them every match that they will play vs Bayern and not the other club Roll Eyes

and yeah changing coach might be a solution in some cases..
Koln, Mainz, Dortmund, M'Gladbach, Hoffenheim and Hertha are out. From the remaining teams, Leipzig and Freiburg seems the best. Union might look interesting too or should we say you never know in DFB-Pokal!

Leipzig have advanced to the next round by defeating Hansa Rostock 2-0 today. They had the game under control most of the time and won a well-deserved victory too. In the absence of Dortmund and Bayern Munich in this tournament, there is a golden opportunity for Leipzig to win a title this season. As they are in a bad shape in the Bundesliga, they can make their supporters happy on the condition that they win the DFB Pokal cup. They have what is needed to win it as their players are qualified. They just need to care about it. And they will face teams that have the same goals as theirs too.

There was a few in the past , the best example are Hoffenheim when they was getting into the first German League years ago.
It takes some time if you want to assert yourself in the first league , not every team will make it .

it's true that everything also needs a process but indeed with a club that does have a squad depth that can be considered standard when compared to clubs such as bayer and dortmund there I feel this is what makes the team more visible.
Currently union is performing quite well thanks to teamwork and discipline of players when on the field.
Hoffenheim even until now they are quite good but indeed their performance is very hard to predict

it's been a long time since the dfb cup was won as easily as it was this year... after the elimination of bayern (last round against mönchengladbach) and now dortmund (this round against st. pauli), only rb leipzig is actually one of the strongest clubs stayed in the competition...
i indirectly hope for a surprise final and therefore for a winner who has won this trophy for a long time or never before

This is a shocking result. How can Dortmund lose against a comparatively smaller team like St. Pauli? Then even lost by 1-2. Maybe their own goal was quite unfortunate, but this is a disappointing show by Dortmund. They have been in quite a good form until now.
Their only goal was scored by Haaland (obviously) but that too came from a penalty. It felt like they were struggling to attack against them. The defense did a good job to mark Haaland well enough - not giving him any space.

Leipzig have started climbing the positions in the league standings recently. They won against Stuttgart in their last game and have made their winning streak two games. And they are right behind Freiburg being two points behind them. And their next game is going to be a home game against Wolfsburg. It is good to see Leipzig pulling themselves together these days but they should keep this going. Wolfsburg are literally terrible now and they don't have much chance against Leipzig here.
