It would be the right step to cancel the EM, it is not absolutely necessary and can easily be postponed for a year.

Should the situation not relax in a month you can actually declare the leagues in Europe to be over or you can let them play in autumn. A football game without fans is in my opinion, unnecessary!

I can't imagine having to wait this long to get back to betting normally.  I am curious in the future, what will happen to the German league and other major leagues around the world because according to "WHO" estimates, 18 months is a very realistic time to be able to find the vaccine.

That is for a brand new vaccine since I'm in Italy I had read a lot during these days, the best HOPE is for this one from Migal

https://www.yonkerstribune.com/2020/03/dr-itai-bloch-on-israels-covid-19-vaccine-by-marilyn-stern

TDLR, they found out that this virus is very similar to a 4 years old Aviaria Virus, they modded the vaccine and they should start trials in days.

Also, this is a different thing from the older Virus/Vaccine like Sars and Mers which is more common and a world race worth of billions trillions of $ is on.
At this point, if I can remember correctly already 30 possible vaccines are "almost ready" if they work.
The time is 1 month to 2 years for all of them, 2 in this month/April ready for humans tests.

Omicron is another FUD
It is the best thing for the Euro we can imagine now but the pandemic has its potential to last longer. Although its possibility to last longer, next year if it will be still exist, I expect its severity will drop considerably and the world have better preparation (from today's lessons) to contain it better.
With the paid race for discovering vaccines, I will be surprised if we will have not a vaccine or drugs before the end of this year.
Quote
He said a realistic target for a vaccine would be in the 18-month range. The WHO has also said a vaccine is at least 18 months away.
“It might happen sooner but I think that’s unrealistic,” Kelvin told Global News. “18 months to two years would be really fantastic if we achieved that target.”

Luca Kilian of SC Paderborn is the first Bundesliga player to test positive for Coronavirus.

Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1238564225167040513

First Bundesliga player infected. It's not about football anymore. Health and safety is way more important now. I am glad the current Bundesliga season is paused. Let everything cool down and play the matches during the summer, if the health situation is safer. I am pretty sure, since most of the national league matches will be rescheduled, the EURO2020 unfortunately will be postponed to 2021. But let's see how that develops. I guess we know more on Tuesday, when the UEFA scheduled a meeting.

I think that we have to consider the country of origin/region of this player.
It doesn't mean that he got infected into the pitch but he might have taken a flight to his motherland and get sick there.
Germany has reported 3.800 in the last 24 hours and we are about to see more football players get infected in the near future.

Players often have to travel and are in close connection with international players and therefore more vulnerable to the virus infection. There was no other option then to pause the seasons otherwise the virus could have spread to more players. Health comes first and then come the professions and games.

Euro2020 in 2021 is much better because all leagues need some good time or if they cancel this all then may be still its not possible for countries to have better prepartion for this now just very few days then we will able to have all updates about this all what is going to happen and how is going to happen.

I really did not think that was gonna happen. Some "ghost plays" (without fans in the stadium), yes, but I did not expect a total rejection.  There is more to come.

I think that Germany and the Bundesliga league is on a better league compared to other European such as Serie A and La Liga.
Maybe games need to be suspended in Germany as well as the problem affect now the whole Europe and not only one or two countries around the world. It is a matter of public health and football players have big interactions with people.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Well, it looks like Matchweek 26 will be played behind closed doors. This might be the last Matchweek that we'll see from a top league in the next few weeks so, i'm definitely adding some Bundesliga games to my parlays.

Today I'll go with Dusseldorf ML @2.12...kinda hard to predict what could happen between two bottom-of-the-league sides, but i'm going with the one who only lost once in the last 5 games, not much analysis BTTS could be decent as both have awful defence.

EDIT* Bundesliga has been suspended until April. Source: https://www.dfl.de/de/aktuelles/nach-aktuellen-entwicklungen-in-zusammenhang-mit-dem-corona-virus-dfl-beschliesst-verlegung-des-26-spieltags-der-bundesliga-und-2-bundesliga/

@tomahawk9 yea all the leagues over the world are now getting suspended, and it makes sense too as it’s one of the ways to stop coronavirus from spreading. Also I have a bad feeling that the remainder of the season will get canceled as there won’t be much time to play all the matches, but let’s hope I’m wrong and we get to watch the remaining matches.

There have been a lot of sports news too about the league being suspended due to the corona virus. I think this will almost be stopped because there is no gap to play even though the area is not affected. league world league now.

It takes some time to sterilize the competition area so that it doesn't spread widely to the others.

Really strange why they would want to promote four teams from 2. Bundesliga to Bundesliga, instead of just two, makes no sense to me (they are probably afraid of Stuttgart/Hamburg fans burning down the DFB headquarters). Would also cause some bigger domino effect into the lower leagues. But you never know with these old men running the DFB/DFL. Already looking forward to all the discussions, if this really happens. Lets hope Uli Hoeneß will make a live-call into the Check24 Doppelpass and rant about that Grin

Crazy news.. German DFB thinks of canceling the current Bundesliga season due the Covid-19 pandemic. The outbreak is getting to a new dimension.., but I guess canceling the current season is better than playing the rest of the matches behind closed doors. What do you guys think?

DFB and DFL are seriously considering ending the season after matchday 26 this weekend with no trophy and no relegation. Teams that currently occupy European places would qualify to the CL & EL and the league would expand to 22 teams next season [Express]

The same discussion in Germany, or only games without fans?

I think they should just cancel all games, because watching Gladbach - Köln right now is just utterly boring without spectators. It's like watching some friendly match during winter break in Malaga Cheesy They should just record some chants and play them over the speakers or put some music in the stadium, because this is unwatchable Cheesy I'd rather watch no football at all then.

I saw the game yesterday, the goal (2:1) was a nice shot, but starting with a fatal mistake by the goalkeeper. But quite honestly without a fan atmosphere you can cancel / postpone the games!
I also feel if you have no better choice then cancelation is much better instead of playing without supporters because its never been good idea for teams and supporters Federations must think about this then give update about future games.

On the contrary, I think delaying may not be a good idea. As you know, Euro 2020 competitions will be played in the summer months this year. Possible delays can adversely affect the tournament schedule. Moreover, nobody knows how the disease will progress. It may be better to play matches instead of delay and entertain people, even from television. People needs to entertain so they won't think about disease so much. Let the people watch football and forget about something bad.
In current situation as many countries already suspending or cancelling many events even Japan is also thinking to cancel olympic may be we will have this Euro 2020 also not on time becuase UEFA is already discussing about this with relative fedrations.
