I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to me that a lot of fans of weaker clubs (which cannot directly compete with Bayern for the title) are rooting for Dortmund because they are tired of Bayern's dominance. It’s like in France, if PSG and Monaco play in the cup final, then only PSG fans will root for PSG and all other fans will root for Monaco Grin

Dortmund really worth this because they are the only team that can stand and compete directly with Bayern in the Bundesliga title race, unless now that other teams like Leverkusen, Leipzig, Union Berlin and others are trying to compete, but they do give up along the way due to fatigue and injuries.

If Dortmund do always keep their star players, they will be a very tough opponent for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.

I haven't seen much of Dortmund this season. But what I understand from the updated news of the team is that this time the team wants to change itself a bit from the last season. The players of the team are very united.

If you look at last season you will see that Dortmund were second behind Bayern, but they had the same number of points and even won one more game, 22, when Bayern won 21. Now Dortmund have 1 game won and 5 points when Bayern have won 3 games and have 9 points.

The only reliable competitor for bayern this season is leverkusen. Dortmund might be a bit under perform compared with leverkusen at this moment. Xabi has been coming with improved squad compared with last season.
