It's not always easy to make the right decisions. Are you a gambler? If you're offered 1 btc without playing or 5 btc by playing (with a chance of 2 to 1). What do you do?

you alredy know the logical way. So, my recomendation - listen to your heart’s whispers and let Lady Luck be your guide. Either way, let the thrill of the choice fill you with excitement. It’s not just a gamble, it’s a leap into a universe of what-ifs and might-bes. Go where the magic pulls you!  Wink

Yeah, the thing is that if 1 BTC is certain, that is more than enough for a lot of people.

So, you would be risking not getting anything for potentially no real upside.

I think I would take the 1 BTC 100% no risks instead of having 50/50 with 5 BTC.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
If I lose I'm still set for life. If I win, I can buy myself a summer home in hot climate and get something tangible out of it.
You might be set for life but the rest of us are not and indeed for us all, 1BTC is a big amount to throw away without any catch involved instead of attempting to gamble it for 5BTC which you chances are lower already.

The safer methods are often less profitable but a re guaranteed, in this case there being no catch involved, is always the preferred option. Keeping the "Poor man" mindset often works better because you appear poor in front of others, they dont need to know what you are actually doing in the background.

1 BITCOIN now is around 70,000$ and may go higher, I rather take that and gamble with 5,000$ for example which is going to be more fun, less stressing and no regret.

Absolutely! Taking the safe win and still having a budget for more playful bets is both clever and cool, it keeps the game enjoyable and your mind at ease!

That's the mindset that poor people have. When you have nothing, 1 btc feels like a fortune and when offered a fortune, vs a chance to win a greater fortune, most poor guys will choose the first option, because that literally takes them from living with their parents to having their own apartment, or even a house.
People who have their basics covered will not think twice and take the gambling option and that's what I'd do. I have enough bitcoin that 1 btc doesn't make much difference, but 5 does, so I'd play to get more. If I lose I'm still set for life. If I win, I can buy myself a summer home in hot climate and get something tangible out of it.

I think that to handling Bitcoin is not just about risk aversion, it’s about enjoying the journey of investment without unnecessary stress. Investing $5,000 in a way that feels fun and manageable, like a bit of gambling, isn’t about being poor or lacking ambition.
it’s about making financial decisions that fit one’s personal comfort and situation. Holding onto a Bitcoin at its current value offers a solid foundation, a sort of financial safety net, which for many is quite substantial. Not everyone needs to chase the maximum possible return at high stakes. For some, financial peace and enjoyment of smaller, more controlled risks are worth more than the potential of bigger gains.
This perspective respects both financial security and personal well being.

I think I would rather take the fund because that work be very useful for me and I can do anything I intend to do with one Bitcoin since the money will be given to me. Betting on 5 Bitcoin on ratio 50:50 could be very risky for one to end up losing everything. It is better I get the one Bitcoin and invest it immediately than trying to be greedy for me to get 5 Bitcoin which is going to be a win or a lose. Money at hand is better than the war that you are anticipating for and you have not gotten it. At one will be very sure of having one Bitcoin and if you go for the spinning, you could end up not even going close to getting one Bitcoin.

We're gamblers, right? Then take that 5 BTC and gamble all of them!  Cheesy
But I guess that condition is pretty tricky because no matter what you do, there's a big tendency that you're just going to lose all of that money. I'd stick and be safe with taking home 1 btc without anything to follow or obey and I'll just be going out that door happy with that money that I've taken for free. Who doesn't want some free money? But with 5 btc, you'll have more courage to gamble that and you'll not feel bad about it because you just gambled with a free money and you might even put some bets that are quite high with a single spin or roll of dice because you're not going to feel any pity of that money because you didn't worked hard for it. That's the difference of gambling our money and with the money that we've received freely.
They better be prepared to lose hahaha.
It is difficult to win big even if he has 5 BTC. Not many people can get big wins by using large capital in gambling.
Many people have tried it, but most have experienced losses, and many have even lost all their money. But we will probably never get 5 free BTC because no one will give them away for free.
They also have to be prepared for losses that might occur because playing gambling will not always win. They must be able to accept their defeat and will not try to recover from their defeat.
Totally expecting for someone to have this kind of sentiment into their mind on which they are really that believing that they could really actually be able to have an advantage if they do have bigger capital or bankroll?

Some sort of, but not all the time. There would really be no assurance that you would be ending up profitable even if you do make use of 5 BTC as your capital but since there would really be those people who do have that kind of risks taking level or tolerance then they would really be simply choosing it but for those who do want to secure out money without any impose risks then you would really be definitely be choosing it up
the other option on which this is something that not guarantee everything.

For me then i would secure that 1BTc and wont really be tending to get that 5. Why would really be needing to choose into those unsure ones if you could be able to secure 1 BTC?

Lady luck? Who is that if I may ask? We better not deceive ourselves, no one knows the lady luck you are referring to, that is why the gambler may choose rightly or wrongly in this regard, the risk is too high. This is like you are gambling within gambling itself, you are just on your own here. There is nothing magical here as well unless you are a magician or a seer who knows the right outcome in the spirit realm to choose rightly in the physical realm. But if you are not, I do not encourage anyone to take any guesses on this, losing a whole 1 BTC due to a useless guess will be hurtful. Because the chance of losing the money is unreasonably high. I would rather walk away with the money and call it a day, but rather do a reasonable business/investment with the money that sooner or later would yield good income for me.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I didn’t mean to brush off the practical concerns at all. You’re absolutely right to think about the practical side of things, and your approach to take the sure thing and consider safe investments is really grounded and smart.

But I just didn’t want to repeat the usual advice about going the logical route and saving the 1 BTC since it was already well covered. It’s all about what feels right for each person, isn’t it?
If stepping back and keeping that 1 BTC gives peace of mind and sets up for a more secure future, that’s a winning move in its own right. So, choose your path wisely, whether it be the certainty or believe in luck.

There are practically no situations in gambling where the chances of winning are 50%.
Usually they are smaller.  For example, when playing roulette there is a zero sector (in American roulette there are two zero sectors), these are the bets that go in favor of the casino when playing red/black.  That is, gambling based on luck initially assumes that the player will lose after playing for a long time.  Therefore, I would not lose my bitcoin for the illusory hope of increasing the number of my bitcoins.
I am not a gambling person, and besides, I know and respect the mathematical theory of probability.

The choice here is quite simple, you just need to correctly calculate the chances. If you already have Bitcoin, then it is 100% yours. But the Bitcoin you own with a two-to-one chance is not your Bitcoin. You need to take the bitcoin that is yours and if you are really eager to place a bet, use this asset. But in general, I would advise using safer strategies for increasing capital. One Bitcoin is currently a large enough amount to risk needlessly. Choose safer strategies for increasing capital. You know. If the worst-case outcome of your bet involves your Bitcoin disappearing, it's not worth pursuing.

I would take th BTC right away. Nothing to take into consideration, 1btc is enough to multiply another one, as Gambling is a game of uncertainty I won't want to trade such a valuable asset because of gambling. I know one might win by chance but won't be sustainable as you might want to risk more, damn no one gambles with an asset.

Yeah, one Bitcoin is a large enough amount that would make it a nice sum.

If it is riskier to get more then it doesn't really matter too much as 1 btc might be already enough.

As a gambler it's tempting to always go for the bigger prize no matter the risk. But sometimes, we need to think smart and the smart move here is to take the sure thing for such an amount. If it was less than 200$ or so, maybe, but I'm offered 1 btc without any risk that's why I would take that over risking it for 5 btc with a 2 to 1 chance. It's about playing it safe sometimes, especially when you have got a guaranteed win already in your hands. Who knows that guaranteed 1 btc might be just what I need rather than risking and possibly ending up with nothing at all.

You can get that 1 BTC which is a sure thing and make it grow through another means without involving gambling practices. You can invest your Bitcoin and earn passive income from it, or you can invest it on your own business where you can work and also make income from. If you have good functional ideas, you are very likely to make considerable profit along the years, always managing this profit in order to make it produce even more money as you keep investing it. At some point, you might turn that 1 Bitcoin into 5 Bitcoins or even more...

It's going to take longer to make such profit when compared to the possibility of growing 1 BTC into 5 BTC through gambling games, but at least, your chances of success are much better and risks are lower when investing the money wisely and sustainably. That is what I would decide to do if that opportunity was offered to me, as I believe patience and long term goals, plus planning are important concepts to be developed and practiced by every individuals aiming to achieve something better for their lives.

In making a decision between a guaranteed 1 BTC and gambling for a chance at 5 BTC with odds of 2 to 1 against winning, it’s wise to consider the expected value but also your personal circumstances and attitude toward risk.

The expected value of the gamble for 5 BTC at 2 to 1 odds is calculated by considering the probability of winning (1/3) multiplied by the reward (5 BTC), plus the probability of losing (2/3) multiplied by zero (since you win nothing if you lose). This gives an expected value of about 1.67 BTC, which is higher than the guaranteed 1 BTC.

However, the rational choice from an expected value standpoint doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best choice for everyone.

Of course, it's reasonable to get 1 BTC right now. Betting is a big risk. Especially when the size of the risk is quite large. You can't win all the time - I wish you could, but it's almost impossible. Therefore, 5 BTC on betting - you have to be a very lucky person

It is very true, I know that 5 btc can make a difference, but with 1 btc things can be much easier so in this order of days things can improve for anyone who is given 1 btc, for me things are not so good . In casinos I have never been even close to winning something like that, 1btc for me would be the maximum, but if they put me to that I would definitely take the BTC, and the other 5 that I can win, well, I wouldn't regret it, because I would know that I could end up with nothing , achieving such a big goal is not easy at all.

I will always say something, when we are betting or have the opportunity to win something certain, we don't have to think about it, we just have to take what is certain and in a bet nothing is certain.
