I think the better way is why not try to change the gambling hobby or replace the daily routine activity. Like visiting friends, bonding with them is a big help for the gamblers I think.
Gambling is definitely not a hobby , if people put it as their hobby then that is weird. Hobby supposed to make you happy and with gambling, pretty sure that you wont get any of it especially when you lose. In the end you are going to need to realize that every amount that you put on a gambling site is not something that you should be grieving over.
