To be honest, It is quite disturbing how in the United States the only mass shootings which make it to national news are those whose number of victims break through dozen of victims. In my country, 5 people being killed for no reason would disgust the nation and would be highlighted on all the news.
This tragic news may not even go beyond statewide news in the same state where it happened.
Perhaps, there is a possibility people in such an interesting and beautiful country are getting desensitized to the dead of innocent people around them.
I wonder if this shooting would ever get mentioned in social Media...

I feel gun doesn't kill people but people kills people. He who pulls the trigger is a killer and not the tool. If it takes eliminating thousands of evil barbarians for a hundred righteous to live so be it.

Sure, a gun is just a tool, so is a hammer, a pan or a kitchen knife. Though, we cannot ignore the fact that guns are specifically engineered to kill others if necessary.
The challenge of gun violence prevention is how to avoid those who should not have a gun from getting one, both legally or illegally and if they do somehow, how to anticipate their intentions by profiling. They have tried to do such thing with the red flag laws in USA, though I have not taken the time to find studies on whether they help or not to prevent unnecessary deaths.

Can I ask where do you get all this information from?
I have tried to study the phenomenon of mass shootings in the United States for a while and I have learnt the news only pick up and report some of the shootings, according to the number of victims and whether or not it can help to spread whatever political agenda they may have.
I have just learnt there was an active shooter alert in at the University of Oklahoma this morning, but it ended up being a false alarm.
Are you subscribed to some kind of tracker or a similar service?

I was shocked by the question here and some of the comments. What kind of people would say that Americans dying in mass shootings is for the sake of God ? Yes, gun control is truly a problem in the United States and personally I am definitely against holding guns and shooting civilians. Gun safety is the U.S government's responsibity to let them deal with it. How come some people are happy that a lof people die in mass shootings just because they want to prove that guns are out of control in the U.S ? In my opinion, those who dare say and think so are no different from the shooters. What a shame !

So many things are happening currently in every parts of the world and America is not left out. There are so many crime happening now in the world and I don't think God who is the creator of everything on Earth would be happy about it. Many of the big names in the field seem agreed that 'God' which describes the supreme agency is actually 'truth' which makes sense. I think this is why there was all that stuff in monotheism about not worshiping graven images & creating false idols etc., because truth is a principle, an abstract concept even, and has no form. So then 'God' would not look like a man, or anything else, would not have a face to smile with or a specific biology with which to feel peculiar human emotions.
Again it makes sense if you think about it. What could be more powerful or important than truth? By definition, anything against truth has to be falsehood, has to be a lie. So the enemy of God is the Prince of Lies & so on & so forth. Anyway I'm not particularly religious or particularly against religion. I just think that, because it still plays such a central role in global & mainstream culture, getting that bit right is important.
