Ok. found the chatbox.

I would like the block reward to stay the same, I think its unfair to change it now, though I think the difficulty readjustment should be cut down to 4-6 hours.

Network hashrate jumped 2+ GH/s difficulty went up 7.xxx... Network hashrate went down to ~200 MH/s, you see where I'm going with this.
I know that I don't, not familiar enough with these things.. just saying what I saw/read from others. umm the forum

And when is the next difficulty re-target scheduled for?

what's the confirmation time for this one?

Bought some on cryptsy and I thought this should be fast one but 0 confirmations in 10-15 minutes.
It is very quick... but not now. Due to the network hashrate being attacked the difficulty went up too much and it takes time for it to adjust. The adjust time should be lowered soon and we should see fast confirmations!

I don't need you to touch the code.  Any alterations not approved by me are not deemed official.  1 minute or less block time being of any worth is a myth.

If you try to run modified code on this network your IP(s) will be banned by the nodes FYI.  So do not experiment with it without generating your own genesis block, using your own ports, and you own IRC channel.  This is automated.

So are you making the changes right now? The difficulty has been a blocked for a while now..
Making changes?  No, we aren't going to hard fork the chain because of the difficulty.  Mine the coin, and the difficulty should drop.  Block rewards are 500 - this was done so mining was worthwhile even at higher difficulties of 30, 40 , 50, etc  Eventually block rewards will only be 100.

You can't just change the difficulty and block times on a whim.  You have to hard fork the chain which can lead to disaster.

Any alterations of my project's that I don't approve, or the entire community doesn't approve, will not be tolerated.  What he will do is kill the robust network we have, while our wallets try to download his altered chain (just like the attacks we see from bad nodes).

If anyone wants me to change the structure of the code OR if anyone wants to be allowed to modified my project, and the community approves, just let me know.

I would imagine all of this came out while I was away (and some clown was using my account) this weekend, but just an FYI for the future.

I welcome another developer to take over development one day, or assist.  But it has to be someone we all agree on because bad things can be put into the code.
Yes yes!
We agree the diff adjustment time should be lower, much much lower, because right now the network is stuck on a too high difficulty because of a 2+ GH/s attack. I pm'd you where you could/should join as the majority of the supporters are there I think.
We urge you to join in on one of the 2 options that I provided, that is only if you want.

All,
Ive installed GIT, GIT Extensions and have forked the trunk for myself to do as was mentioned above.

We all have allot invested in this, some have time, some have money, some have both.

As was suggested my goal is to alter the source to at least do the following.

Code:
Reduce block time from 2.5 to 1 min
Reduce diff correction interval  from 3.5 days to 6 hours
Reduce coins per block from 500 to 50

I have written about 150 lines of C++ code in my life but I will give this a shot.

If any devs out there are feeling gracious and want to provide any tips, hints, pointers and or suggestions our community would be grateful.
I'm not sure if reducing the coin per block is good now. New miners will get too little coin, compared to the past week and a half. Maybe only reduce it to 250.
The diff adjustment should be very low, 6 hours seems okay from the current one.

All

FYI my account was hacked, I was in Wisconsin (USA) and had no internet since Saturday morning.  Someone compromised my password.  i am back in control!

Not selling anything, not bailing, and I don't' have 2 million gold coins...  Though I wish I did!  This is crazy, I am gone for 2 days and look what happens!

I only have a few hundred K in GLD...

I used the same passwords for this account and another account elsewhere - because I thought was not a big deal (can't hurt me financially).  Lesson learned.   I use sophisticated unique passwords for financial sites, but I guess i need to everywhere.

Been rotating like 4 passwords for every site (hundreds) for the last few years...
*now feeling scared*

gldcoin care to disclose the site which may have taken your password?
For security reasons not yet - its only a suspicion at the moment because that is the only other account that shared this password- but I will say that it was crypto related, and that my password was weak.  Not an exchange or anything.  My passwords for banks, exchanges, email, etc are stored on paper...

Awesome, could feel something weird about the other guy. Glad you're back!

Well, I didn't fucking know that. I'm just a miner, and an electronics tech by trade, I'm not a goddamn computer programer. It would have been much more constructive, to post a link, to a working blockchain explorer.

I do know, that someone posted that 7 million coins were premined. How about we stop arguing about it, and one of you goddamn reputable members, who knows what the fuck they are doing, and verify if he pre mined or not, ffs.

Holy fuck, so you actually talk shit about every damn coin you happen to dislike for whoever-knows-what-reason, while you actually don't know what the flying frak you're talking about. If you're a miner and don't know shit about crypto other than that, well fuck me, keep mining peacefully and keep your mouth shut on matters you know nothing of.

I have no reason to setup a block explorer free of charge for someone who's constantly obnoxious in the forums, and not being constructive to the community himself (yes I mean you). Give me 20 LTC and I'll set it up and post proof of whether or not it was premined in the same way I did with Powercoin.

Either that, or you do it yourself. In any case keep your mouth shut about matters you don't understand. You'll be doing this forum a great service.

Do yourself a favour and cut out some of the bad language. You might have some fair points, but nobody is going to take you seriously.

Why so angry ?

OK, so, I found a 3 hour gap, between block 115 and 116, so, I can only assume, that that is the gap between when the pre mine ended, and it opened to the public. So, 115, 10,000 coin blocks, were premined.
115 x 10,000 = 1,150,000 coins, were premined. That seem about right?

I got the 12th blocks so no, he started mining as soon as he posted the thread

So, explain the 3 hr gap?
There is no 3 hour gap.  You are forgetting it was purposely posted in the noob form and then moved.   Also, depending on the time on the node, and the clients, the time could be off.  I never looked, but I don't think the software relies on NTP

I gave away a lot of coins, and only have 250K left.  I never had 2 million coins.  As the guy said, he got some of the first blocks.

So, maybe Krax was part of the premine. Would certainly explain why he has such a hardon for this coin.
