I suggest you to buy some new altcoins, price increasing is easy at low volumes. I have bought some Unify ( it is pos ) and i made staking too. I get daily 5-10 Unify block reward and i will keep them for 1 years if there is no profit i will sell all of them

For me, etherium is a good choice for long-term investment.Yes, there are so many other currencies where you can invest yor money for a long term. But in fact you have to invest your money in such a coin on which you consider as have more potential and more potential to grow fast.

ETH and Waves does have values that have potential to increase in the future, other than btc ethereum have the ability to always cope in it's volatility to recover fast, as well as used by many transactions.
Moreover, etherum is increasingly more likely to move towards bitcoin prices through its individual development and the number of people trusting this coin.
"Towards bitcoin prices"? I can not understand these words, but if you want to say the price of Ethereum can not affect by the price of Bitcoin, I think you are wrong. Remember, any altcoins all dumped by the price of Bitcoin increased. Especially when the price of Bitcoin reached $6,000 I have see many altcoins dumped to old price earlier of this year, even lower than that price.

Probably 10000 people mentioned that before me, but just as a reminder. You should really look into Verge (VRG) - it's a long time investment, but it's cheap price is just begging you to put some in it. I'll suggest you keeping it for 1-2 years, just see what will happen. Cheers.

I have an eye on this. But I will wait for another dip to buy it cheaper. So I feel safer with my investment, because I am not very sure about a long term invest in XVG.

You are limiting yourself unnecessarily by asking for an altcoin with proof of stake, any altcoin in the top 10 is a good altcoin to invest, if I were you I will put a small investment in each one instead of putting everything in a single coin that way if one of the coins crashes you only lose a small portion of your money instead of losing everything if that was the coin you invested in.

Aside from the known ones such as XMR, LTC, ZCASH and ETH. Look into new ones such as NEO, wander around the Alt discussions as there are coins which will be launched just yet and better study their road map so that you can choose which will turn out has the better opportunity and which is not.

Monero(XMR) ,Ethereum (ETH),Litecoin(LTC) and Neo are few of the very best, they can give you a very high return in a couple of years, all of them are worth investing and should be in wallets of smart investors. You can add bitcoin cash also to your list if you think it has a bright future, but I do like bitcoin cash and am waiting to see what bitcoin gold is worth, I'll be having a good altcoin portfolio after this month's hardfork.

I'm putting a small portion of my crypto portfolio into each of the many altcoins mentioned in this thread, with ETH account for the largest percentage. I also take advantage of the short-term price fluctuations to either increase the number of coins in my holding, or recover the initial investment sooner.

Altcoin for long term I only invest in DCR (DECRED).

It contains all benefits of Bitcoin + Governance (hardforks in chain after votes) + Hybrid mining. I see potential to be the 'silver of cryptos' (similar to LTC but much better and undervaluated)

If you want to invest in a coin in the long run, you need to do a good research first. First of all, it is the most important condition for you to look at the fact that the project team and the project are realistic.

1- Ethereum
2- NEO

I think that Zencash and Unify will rise rapidly in a short period of time. That's why I invested in Zencash and Unify. The total amount is very small and the price of a whale can rise quickly.

More and more I follow all market, its better to bet on btc (maybe ltc because is extremly underpriced regarding to btc) for longterm. Sure you can make huge profits with all those ico's and alts short to medium term, but for sure btc seems to be most viable for LT investment
Yea, you should invest in BTC for long, because bitcoin price increase per years is truly impressive.
For Altcoin, you should pick Eth, ltc, and xrp, or any who had good team and strong community

40% = BTC, 60 % = Alt (ether, Ripple, monero, iota) and ICOs (Eos, Modum)
