Do not buy coins when they are surging or when they are at ATH because if you buy and the price drops or dump you will have to hold for several years to recover and that is if the coin doesn't fail before that time
If we compare the soaring coins with the coins in ATH, then in this case it is certainly better to buy coins when they are soaring, because for traders who are looking for profits in the short term it will be very good, because the name of buying remains have a risk of loss even under any circumstances.

I think this is not a very good time to buy alts. Cause bitcoin is not so much volatile. Plus in laast few days we see some pump from many mid or low cap coins. And we saw many dump too. That's why I would suggest if you know which coin to pick then you can go otherwise. It's not a very good time. I would suggest follow the market and if you think you find a entry you can go for it or if you are a day trader then it's fine for you.

Most of the altcoins are now cheap rate as compared to the December 2017 and January 2018. Now i only prefer only top few coins which are strong and trusted. I am avoiding now Shitcoins as i have lost my all investment in shitcoins before. It is time to buy few altcoins which are cheap but strong and future potential coins.
Its because of the bull run even that happened. Some of those coins are now gone and completely vanish. I have some altcoins that have valueless nowadays. We did not yet feel the result of btc halving event, but it seems that some top altcoins are doing great, even they don't rely on the pump of BTC. I can't afford yet to buy many altcoins because of the crisis. I still hold my altcoins for now and probably wait for a long time.

I think so too.
until next bull run buying some top alt coin with decent price
could make a good profit when the bull run comes
What makes you so sure is that so far, I have not seen any signs of a new price increase. In general, the bear market can happen at any time, and you will face a lot of risks when choosing to invest. Personally, don't expect the altcoin season to appear this year because whales often go against everyone's minds, and you usually have a hard time guessing what's going to happen next.

On the other hand i will buy Cheap currencies for holding then again not appropriate because there comes a time that
 this will die soon.
That's also implying that you sell at "X" price because you would think they will die. There is no difference from my statement.

So basically if you are buying altcoin make sure you have strategy in which will fit the currency you will needing.
Strategy is useless, if you use one strategy into all coins then you are doing something wrong. People like me are using own strategy for their own needs and benefits, you can't just yoink other strategies if you don't know what does your need.

But try at least buying coins for daytrading but if you fail then extend for short term holding.
And again, it's not that different from my statement above. You just changed the words but it has same meaning :p

It's always a great time to buy altcoin, just treat it once u buy the coin as your starting price and wait until it meets your goal. It should not be that difficult if people actually think like that. You may see that people will say "wait until the price is at the bottom or cheap" but when does exactly that happen? People didn't know that.
Thats wrong because this will be depending on what purpose are we buying because the question presented is general
address and not for specific user.

Like for example i will Buy Ethereum for Daytrading,i think this is not appropriate because top currencies usually slow
moving coins and not good for day trading.

On the other hand i will buy Cheap currencies for holding then again not appropriate because there comes a time that
 this will die soon.

Yub. Trading is all about setting targets and achieving them. Targets depend on people. It's always the time to buy altcoin and it's always the time to sell altcoin as long as the transaction creates profit. Some people also think it's now the time to buy bigger coins such as BTC ETH since the price has dropped.

In my opinion, whenever the bitcoin increases there are lots of altcoins to follow its footseps in increasing and as we can see these days it is increasing a little bit so the potential of altcoins to increase is good so buying some good altcoins might be a good idea and be patient for it to increase up.
That means when bitcoin goes down and altcoin is also following it right. In my conclusion based on your opinion if the best time to buy crypto when bitcoin goes down and we will get a lot of discount to buy altcoin due to the bearish trend that was happening with bitcoin. That's a common thing dude.

Looking at the market right down, where Bitcoin has dipped from $9.7K to $9K, it appears a good avenue to stack some sats and look into some altcoins. It's good to look in the direction of top 20 alts on the market yet paying attention to some mid-cap coins is likely to flourish one's portfolio. DYOR before choosing.
This market is very volatile, and Bitcoin usually never stands still, so generally you need to have a reasonable investment strategy before engaging in trading. I think altcoins will also depend on the price of Bitcoin because if Bitcoin drops, then this whole market will not be able to rise and worse than stay in the bear market.

Of course, I don't want this to happen again because in the past, I lost more than two-thirds of my assets when Bitcoin dropped.

We are closing to the bitcoin halving event and the orice has already startes to act to the event as expected. We may now see a significant increase in BTC price as well. Is it a good time to invest some money on some altcoins, obviously on the top altcoins only.

Some of the altcoins now are good to buy then hold and one of this example are Beer, last 3 days ago it was 20 satoshi then all of a sudden
the price spike at 90 satoshi, which means it has the potential to increase the price in the market and there's nothing to lose if you buy em then hold a for awhile.

Bitcoin has not experienced much price increases due to halving. Altcoin prices, in my opinion, also have not experienced a significant rise in prices because it seems the whales prefer to be passive at this halving moment.

Agree. It seems that crypto has become too mainstream since 2017, leading to heavy price manipulation across the market. There are a lot of greedy whales out there preventing Bitcoin from getting past the $10k range. As long as the trend continues, neither Bitcoin nor altcoins will be able to experience new ATHs in price. Let's keep our hopes high as one way or another Bitcoin's price should go higher than they were before. After all, the block subsidy will be cut in half every 4 years. This should reduce miner's profits at current prices, forcing them to increase the price per coin at mainstream exchanges.

Once Bitcoin goes all the way to the moon, then altcoins will follow. If you're looking into good altcoins that are worth buying and "hodling" for a very long time, then look no further as both Ethereum and Litecoin are the right choice. Ethereum will soon transition from PoW to PoS, leading to a "FOMO" sentiment on the market. On the other hand, Litecoin resembles Bitcoin with a limited supply and pre-defined halving events. It might as well go up in price in the next halving followed by the adoption of Mimblewimble for privacy on the Blockchain. While it's no secret that altcoins have higher fluctuations in price than Bitcoin itself, they certainly bring many profit opportunities.

Nonetheless, it'll be a good time to buy altcoins if the market is on the "red side". Right now, prices are slightly falling, bringing you the opportunity to buy altcoins at a cheaper price. Once the bull market goes full steam ahead, prices per coin will never be the same. As an advice, always pay close attention to altcoins' recent developments instead of making your decisions based on other's opinion. If you do that, you'll do fine in this emerging industry. Just my opinion Smiley

I told people previously that after halving bitcoin may likely pump which will definitely affect altcoins and here it is, now that bitcoin is picking up, we should expect fail from altcoins so I would suggest we stay off fir now and follow bitcoin trend or we check for altcoins having news.

Bitcoin has surpassed $9k3 now. I'm pretty sure an altcoin season is coming very close. But if you don't like Altcoin, you can buy Bitcoin right now, because I believe it will exceed $10k and go further. Personally, I like Eth, hoping it will surpass $200 in the next 1-2 days.
well, I totally agree with what you say because altcoin prices depend on bitcoin price movements so as much as possible to buy altcoin when prices are falling like this and make the best use not to buy when there is a pump or when the price is rising.
