Damn, all of them are indeed scam. It is a good action from google and it will protect users from falling into these kind of traps. Those businesses need to be verified carefully because 99% are pure scam so that I suggest you should not involve in. Why dont you stake your coins in some reliable defi project. They are much more profitable and safer.

Google playstore have their own terms of services for uploading apps to their playstore. If the apps indicated to be stealing people data those apps will be taken down by them.
I have experienced that my developed apps been in playstore for 1 month and then get removed because in my apps there is an engine to track people device UUID in purpose of cheating preventing because that was an apps for employee's present.
So i think it's not about the crypto the google remove them, it's caused those apps break the rule of google playstore itself

I thought at first that their Play Store banned those legitimate apps again like back in the days when they banned Metamask. Kind of remembered that news, lol.

An informed individual wouldn't fall for these cloud mining schemes obviously, OP. I wouldn't even consider using any crypto-related app in my mobile, as my phone is usually exposed to many public networks/wifi. I wouldn't want for the same thing to ever happen again back in January 2020 where my account here got compromised, but I manage to secure it finally.

For my news source by the way: https://cointelegraph.com/news/google-play-lifts-ban-on-ethereum-browser-extension-metamask

Google Play store bans 8 crypto mining application
It’s really good that they have taken action against these apps, although I am not the type that’s going to fall for any of these apps ever again. I have had the experience quite a few times. I have used these apps and the experience was very bad, what they promise is not what they give. You will spend a lot of time on these apps and at the end you’re just a tool to generate income for them, cause you’re going to be viewing lots of adverts on their platform (they are always filled with annoying adverts). They are just used to generate income for the devs and cheat the users, nothing much.
- Watching ads and the creators getting paid is only a small part of these apps, there are quite a few that will announce a security upgrade and asking users to take pictures of personal documents as well as some cases will be a small fee, after quite a few days of hard work, perhaps many people don't regret a little bit of money to receive big money. It is possible that malicious code will also penetrate during the upgrade process and the phone contains a lot of privacy, Google Play probably also received a few tickets and reported such errors until making this decision to ban

BitFunds - Crypto Cloud Mining
Bitcoin Miner - Cloud Mining
Bitcoin (BTC) - Pool Mining Cloud Wallet
Daily Bitcoin Rewards - Cloud Based Mining System
Bitcoin 2021
MineBit Pro - Crypto Cloud & btc miner
Ethereum (ETH) - Pool Mining Cloud
Crypto Holic - Bitcoin Cloud Mining
Actually, not only 8 fake cryptocurrency mining applications are scattered online. Based on Trend Micro Mobile App Reputation Service (MARS) data, there are more than 120 applications available online.
These applications actually do not have the ability to mine crypto money and trick users into watching ads in the application. I am very grateful to Google, for telling me, if I don't observe and learn well, I will definitely be stuck..

Whoever has a little bit of knowledge of mining, at least if they know the rules of mining, will never use such cloud mining apps. Because they can immediately say that these apps are fake and possibly contain malware. Because cloud mining is mainly ponzi scams. They ask you to invest and promise to give you a return against your deposit. All rules are same as ponzi but in the disguise of cloud mining.

I am happy that Google has finally taken some action agains these fake apps. They should have done it earlier.
And the worst part is that those people that downloaded apps like that got hit twice not only they are being scammed by people like this, it is also possible those apps contained malware of some kind and they lost any money they were holding in the wallets they installed in that smartphone. It is a shame that people are still falling for this when in this forum we have known for years that cloud mining can be nothing else but a scam.

Yes that's right, I've installed Bitcoin miner and crypto holic, it's impossible to withdraw because we have to deposit a minimum of 100k satoshi, there are still many applications of this kind and I hope we are more active to report to Google if we encounter this application.

If you didn't deposit, then good for you. Most of the time they have to reach the threshold only to see the requirement so wasted time and effort.

I am not really sure about this, I think they go indept to know the sites are actually fake and scamming people will be the reason, because if they remove those that ask money upfront, CryptoTab pro would have been removed.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pro.cryptotab.android

You can check it from the playstore, you will see that money is required before you will be able to download the app, the money is requested to increase the mining reward. I have never downloaded it before and I will never download it.

True that, but the base version remains free to use, and this Pro version does make it clear what it does (as it claims that "for everyone who wants to use all CryptoTab services directly on Android device")

Say if CT only makes one paid-only version (i.e. no free version), and lies about paying/ mining then it would violate the policies.

From what I observed from GP's policy, apps that mine should be fine but shouldn't request any sort of payment upfront. That's why some legit ones like StormGain remain.

if you search there are many applications on google, google should give a permanent ban on the name of the application you mention
because similar applications can still be found today
Hopefully in the future we won't find applications like that again in the future

This is not wrong, even CryptoTab is not hiding, we all know it is a broswer but it is also a mining app, I am still wondering why it is not removed along these fake apps, even two CryptoTab apps are listed on playstore, the pro version require people to pay before use, we all know how bitcoin can not be mined on phone.

There are till many more, Google playstore is not a place we can visit and belief all we see, many apps are fake and the intention of the developers is to scam, some will elaborate to users that they will make profit from using the app and of which it is a lie.

Although I haven't tried CryptoTab (and I wouldn't want to), they do pay but man do they drain the shit out of your electricity with all that mining in the background.

^ Exactly. It is worded like Google is against crypto.

Just another common thing on the Play Store though. Remove 10, there are 100 still hiding.

There is already a proliferation of scammy crypto apps in the Play Store. Good for them for taking action but I think there is still some work needed. I have seen a lot of apps that are pretending to be legitimate wallets like Trezor or Ledger. There has even been some cases where people lost very large amounts of crypto because they downloaded a fake app.

I hope Google play will do their work to just vanish them and never let any kind of apps that has the similar agenda when installed by the user.

Enough for the hoping. There are a lot of fake apps in Google play.
I think Google's power to detect fake apps are only limited and So they aren't able to detect most of these fake apps.
One of the most noticeable fake app today is the Fake Ronin wallet. Several Axie players have lost their Axies, AXS, and SLPs because they downloaded the fake apps and exposed their private keys.
Im surprised I didn't see Ronin wallet app included in the OPs list.
Not only fake Ronin wallet but there are also many fake applications that have not been detected and banned by google. The 8 apps OP listed were removed in hundreds of fake apps. Hopefully next time google will be strong with fake apps to protect its users.

Google really need to up there game in preventing the flood of fake app into the google app store, it is risky for users when they will install a fake app on their device unknowingly thinking it is from google store am safe, the action already long over due, especially in crypto space where funds are involved it is easy to have so many fake app in disguise as the original only to scam people of their funds, people should very vigilant.

Google Play store bans 8 crypto mining application
Those mining applications are scams. It is good news that Google play store already banned them. I suspect some people reported them and Google play store take the necessary action by banning them all. We must thank Google play store teams that they want to accept our reports and care about people's security. If they don't ban it, possibly some people can be scammed.

Are all cloud mining apps a scam though? Or just some of them, like the ones you've listed here? I realize that it might be unsafe and opens so many rooms for scammers that "rent out" hashing power, but can't that be legit sometimes? I don't see what's wrong with someone investing money in pool mining in exchange for a Bitcoin reward share.

Anyway, that got me thinking, is all those apps are scams, how did they wind up on Google Play in the first place? Shouldn't there have been an inspection of some kind?
