If it's true news then we must say its a good news. The question is how they will determine whether or not they are endorsing gambling on their platform remains uncertain. Clearly, while browsing Google, we will encounter a greater number of advertisements related to NFTs. It appears that they recognize the rising demand for NFTs, enabling them to generate substantial income from NFT advertisements on their platform. Ultimately, every business seeks additional profits, so by permitting NFT advertisements, they will boost their revenue.

Well, everything comes down to expanding its own revenue base. Google is always looking to make more money that is why they are now allowing what they previously banned. Money is always the main course of action for this behemoth and since they can now see the smoke is gone for NFT games, they are now opening the doors again with the end-view view of making a win-win proposition for advertisers and themselves never mind what the intended audience will feel. Anyway, I have no problem with this so let the ads come and go.
Without a doubt this is a move that is motivated by monetary concerns, however the costs for many people are going to be huge, as I have no doubts that scammers will be able to once again revive the NFT trend with the help of this tool and make a lot of people that missed it believe they can once again make a lot of money with NFTs, a false belief of course, but a belief they will not recognize was mistaken until they realize no one is willing to pay a single dollar for the NFTs they spend so much money in order to acquire.

even if it was mainly motivated by monetary concerns I think its also need to be considered the fact that NFT hitting trading volume thats all time low.
meaning that even if google allows it, there will be rarely anyone that advertise their NFT project because there are no good NFT anymore.
I think there are other motives that this company have but we all most certainly don't know.
maybe they have already planned some NFT and something else, but I guess its good news for some people that NFT ads is finally allowed, though I think its rather useless.

Have you learned the power of marketing?  If NFT advertisement is available in Google, then I think most NFT will advertise on that platform since it is used by hundreds of millionso of people.  Aside from that we cannot see the effect of this changes yest because it is too early to see the result.

I also think it is possible that google have plans of implementing their own NFT reason for this announcement.  But unless they have launched their own NFT, I stay on believing that Google is just in for the profit in this NFT ads stuff.

On the other hand, what I personally concerned about is the lack of a firm attempt to combat phishing and any scam that utilises their own Google ad networks.
this one is so true, i'm really concerned at how everytime there's something that went viral, there's scammy and phishy version of it popping up in google using their google ads, its really disturb me at how unstrict
the ads review are in google sides, even there are many phishing thats being advertised in there for so long.

though the effect caused by this might be invisible since not many people are just discussing around about their loss but i'm sure so many people are falling victims to this.

I just wish that google put more concern into this, after all, they are the one that runs the advertising company, and it seems they are really fall short in term
of making it to be a good and reliable advertising for even those that they were supposed to advertise.

Yes, they should improve their ads moderation system to have a better filter rate between legitimate ads and a malicious advertiser or advertisements. I get that it is tricky for them to build such a system, but I believe they just did not put extra effort into improving the filtration system. Right now, where Google's cryptocurrency-related ads policy has become more relaxed, I believe it would invite many people to use the services, indirectly it would also invite scammers to trick or make use of these services.

So it is important for them, to balance and rather improve their ads review system, eventually, they should use manual verification if their system still gets deceived by a malicious entity.

NFT games advertisement is allowed as long as they don't promote gambling.  So this will be a good news for P2E games that uses NFT as their feature focal point.  Game like Axie infinity and alike will have a chance to reach more audience by this change of policy.
Wow, another open door for scammers to spread their phishing sites and fake NFT giveaways to millions of people worldwide and be able to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars through these scams that they have been struggling to do before. They were trying their best to find as many victims as possible through platforms like Telegram, Discord, Facebook, Twitter, and many more but now their work has become extremely easier than before.

I'm pretty sure that the percentage of people becoming victims of scams will increase significantly after this. However, it might also be a positive thing for cryptocurrencies since they might gain more exposure due to the advertisements legit projects might be making usin Google ads after this.

Actually, this is no joke, this is actually good news, and hope Google considers checking every customer they allow because some of those NFT games are scammed because they are just funding their first weeks with their own money to give their players rewards but when they gathered much more money from them, they are changing their rules and some other things which makes the game not fun to play anymore and more likely became unplayable anymore because of high risk where you need to invest more money but gets low rewards.

I agree, this is a good news for NFT since google is a huge platform and is accessed by hundred of millions of people everyday.  This might be a spark of light to the plummeting NFT industry since these projects will be able to reach out to those who has yet to know them.  The only problem with this kind of advertisement is being exploited by scam NFT projects, I also hope that Google have a good way of filtering this advertisement not allowing fake NFT projects to exploit their platform.

It is definitely a good news, even a great news. Google is a huge company, one of the biggest companies in the world and that means we are talking about crypto is getting heard at the top of the mountain. We should be able to do well enough without having any type of trouble on the long run and we need to end up with a result that would be a lot better for the long term. I know that it will take some time but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't do something like this.

We need to figure out what is the best way to utilize it, and if we could utilize this then we could profit from it as well. I am glad that google is interested in crypto and allowing this now, it means they are constantly checking it and who knows maybe one day they will even invest.

This is possible but at the same time they are underestimating scammers, it is obvious they do not have the personal to manually review every single ad they serve to those using their services, and even if they put special attention to NFTs ads there are still bound to be a lot of scam ads that will go unnoticed, so Google will allow scammers to have access to many more victims thanks to this new policy, as I am sure scammers are already preparing all their arsenal of weapons to abuse this new policy as much as possible.
I hope that they have a better filtering technology today given that they accepted NFT games to advertise to them again. It would be bad if we users are bombarded with obvious NFT scam. For sure they will have a lot of complains fro, the users. Google should be strict with the requirements before they accepts NFT projects that want to advertise with them. A manual review at least will lessen the scam projects.
Even manual reviews may not be enough, how many coins have been released on exchanges with good reputations that made an effort to manually check everything they could about a coin in particular, and the developers still ran away with the money of their investors anyway? It is impossible that google is going to have the personal needed to check every single NFT ad, so I really think we are about to see a lot of people getting scammed once this new policy takes effect.
It's just not going to be enough, simple as that. Filtering will be terrible, there will be scams, there will be a lot of complaints and this will result with it being gone eventually. I get that not a lot of people feel like this could go any worse, but I think with more and more scams there, google will make NFT ads not allowed again soon enough.

It should be important to realize that you are going to end up with a result that would be tough to handle if you are not careful with which ad you click, since you may think that it's a good one and it could lead you to something terrible. We can't really get anything that would be decent in the end if we click them all, so try to avoid them as much as you possibly could.

The NFT industry is in dire straits, with trading volumes falling to all-time lows. If Google is allowing advertising, then it means it is saving its interests in the industry. Most likely Google itself has some NFT projects they launched in 2021 that are now completely unprofitable, no one is interested in these NFTs. So to create more interest they are allowing these ads.

Or maybe they have now a way to lessen the scam advertisement, even though you can really eliminate or avoid it 100%, but at least maybe they already have a solution for it.
For sure, one of the reasons why they banned it in their advertisement before is because of lot of scams especially if it's on bull market, scammers during that season are very active.

Prior to this google had banned all cryptocurrency ads on their platform back in 2018.  I wonder what makes the Google platform to change their views and make a new policy accepting NFT ads.  Any thought?
They probably just want to generate more revenue by clarifying this NFT policy. Too bad it's probably two years late though, there's so much less NFT projects who can spend big money on advertising right now compared to two years ago during the peak bull run.
I am not sure if it is going to be something like that and it shouldn't really be something that would be that much of a big deal to do the marketing of it. Google shouldn't really consider that as a big deal at the moment and shouldn't really be something to worry if you know what you are doing.

I am not sure if there are many people who look at google ads and start buying stuff just because they saw it on the ads, that never made sense to me and shouldn't be done that way. I get that some people may do it, but that doesn't mean that we can do it that way, it is not really that much possible on the long run and shouldn't be really a big deal when you think about it. It is really not important and should be just let it happen.

Besides more revenue potential, regulation clarity may encourage the acceptance of the advertisements. In a certain manner, surely they will reconsider other cryptocurrencies-related ads, if the risk and reward, whether as regulation/compliance risk or profit potential, within their business model allows it.

I believe all these changes in terms is driven by their study that they were losing revenue when they decided to cut off cryptocurrency way back 2018, they had some changes in 2021 if I am not mistaken where they allowed the advertisements of exchanges that is operating in the US.  .

It is crystal clear that back then 2018 the reason they banned cryptocurrencies-related ads was due to a lack of clarity about where the spaces going, so they doing it in order to limit regulation uncertainty and the risk that it might cause. The referred article on OP also addressed the issues in 2021 where if we deduce their decision is also because of regulation compliance. They dare to accept cryptocurrency ads only if the advertiser has registered their entity with the necessary policies.

On the other hand, what I personally concerned about is the lack of a firm attempt to combat phishing and any scam that utilises their own Google ad networks.

they should've allowed it from long ago to be honest, i think this was error on google sides, after all the fact that they allow ads of games that have micro transactions which aren't even can be traded like NFT in the first place while also massively sucking money off its users still baffle me, meanwhile as far as I know NFT games in general was created for the sake of money making for it users, there's reason they are called p2e, but this big corporation just had to make the worst decision ever alienating NFT from even advertising on their company.

I just personally don't think its a good gesture, its just an attempt of money grabbing since maybe the revenue generated from their advertisements are decreasing significantly nowadays.

They simply want more to grab money from, unfortunately.

Certainly, this is the case.  Now I have a speculation that the NFT market might probably become a hot topic again in the upcoming crypto bull run.  I bet Google has its feasibility study on this and does lots of surveys and research.  As we all know the NFT market never died down and was intensified by the Ordinals incidents that caused lots of headaches to Bitcoin users.

This is just my speculation and has no basis whatsoever that it will happen in the event that the bull market comes.

Weird how google banned them in the first place.

I understand that people get scammed but they had other non-crypto scammy ads as well, just like facebook ads did. So why single out nfts? And at the same time There have been nft billboard ads in center of huge cities.

I am guessing reddit most likely will use this opportunity as they are likely done most for the adopion in the whole nft game now with 18,280,815 avatar holders, over $40M volume and 22,248,868 total avatars at the time of writing

stats: https://dune.com/polygon_analytics/reddit-collectible-avatars

But does anyone have guesses how this affects the NFT trading volume, and how much?
