Hey guys, payments will go out at midnight for all the purchases run up till today.  We are trying to get all the purchases out of the system that need to be run.  If you have a purchase pending or paused please contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate it or issue a refund.  Thanks.

At this point, it would be wise to just move your hashing power away and wait for payment.

why would a person pay gpumax for shares when pirate is involved with it?

zux0r is smart to fade away from this debacle. why would he want to be responsible for this
debt? pirate stated gpumax wallet is HIS wallet.

Its easy enough to change wallet addresses. Its entirely plausible zux0r knows nothing about BCST and has done nothing other than work his ass off trying to make gpumax work. If thats the case, he better start talking now, but if he does, Id be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, as long as pays out daily.

I wouldn't worry too much. gpumax.com registration expires on September 15, 2012.

Should we be taking bets that the SCAM is right on track ?

The idea isn't that someone would pay GPUmax for shares, it's that Pirate would set GPUmax to run public shares pointed to his bitcoind. 100% work and 200%PPS rate, and you could be clearing a few extra thousand clean newly minted coins before everyone starts calling foul about not being payed.

People here would have caught on to that very quickly and pirate would have been known
to be a scammer that much quicker. He was buying time. To do what you suggest would have
been a red flag based on user's past experience of knowing public work was not constant lately.

Assuming every user of GPUmax reads the forums often. People are still giving him work even though he's defaulted on BTCST and hasn't payed GPUmax in 4 days. Greed is a powerful motivator, I wouldn't be surprised to see people point all their hashing power there even knowing BTCST went tits up and that 100% work is abnormal.

well give one of the admin's time. i am sure they will grant this wish of scamming users even more.

the problem is the debt already owed and the money is gone.
in order for zux0r to take over the existing site, as is, he would have to lock out pirate and
payout.. oh what? 1000 btc. 10K USD dollars. Just a guess to make people whole so they
would come back.

otherwise.. might as well just start over if he was the coder. he could recreate it pretty quickly
under a new name.

It's mere speculation, by my guess is it's easily over a thousand dollars. .

Probably closer to a thousand bitcoins.  Some users have 10+ bitcoins or more tied up in the last couple days.  And Im sure there are easily hundreds of users now...

I have over 40 tied up.  This was Pirates last "Fuck you" the to community.

The timing of suddenly inviting everyone and anyone after months of no movement at all was simply too convenient.....right when BTCST went tits up.

OTOH, if that was the plan, why didnt they run public work 24/7? Ive only seen short bursts of public work since the last payment.

Dont get me wrong, Ive just pointed my miners away from gpumax as well, but  I would *guess* there is a disagreement between zux0r and pirate? Anyone hear of zux0r lately? Id like to give him the benefit of the doubt, he certainly worked hard enough on gpumax.

Yeah, I was one of those invited.  And lucky for me there was no documentation on how to get setup on GPUMAX, which then required me to read up on it.  Which lead to me getting very suspicious about the whole situation.

I feel lucky in that I only used it for about three days, then stopped early enough that I got the last of what I was owed from GPUMAX in the last payment wave that was sent out.

But I know not everyone was that lucky...
If that's the case, it seems odd to still have the service online and relaying private work. I've been keeping an eye on my private pools, and 100% of my work seems to be getting there...

I've come to the conclusion that I (and we) fell for a scam. I just got the Beta invite a few days, and it looks like a swarm of other did as well. My guess is they decided to abandon GPUMAX, but before they did they invited a bunch of guys, and didn't pay them. They made off with 0.6 BTC from me (not very much), and I bet even more from everyone else. Imagine how much money they just made by not paying the old, and the swarm of new users in the past couple of days? It's mere speculation, by my guess is it's easily over a thousand dollars. I don't think we'll see our money anytime soon... GPUMAX is closing down.

If anyone else is mining at GPUMAX, please stop now. Don't fall for it. Until we start getting paid, along with a big apology, we shouldn't be wasting anymore of our time here.
