Bitcoin today is what the internet was in 1998.

GPUMAX will be down on 10/08 at 12:00 AM CST.  The system may or may not come back up depending on the new owners.

So why is pirate running around and IRCing like a free man?
Wasn't he supposed to be both lynched AND in jail?

That's a good question. Either he's out on bail... or someone else is posting for him.

So, is everything still working?  I see that the site is up now, did it even go down?  Or did it just stay up through the ownership transfer?

Or was it all just fud?

pfft. who can even trust pirate@lame to actually sell gpumax and be honest about it.
might be a way to have it reborn and he is still in control. just create a puppet account
that announces they bought it...

The question is: Is the site really worth much? Hardly anyone's been buying contracts lately. I suspect that it was a good way for pirate to launder funds and then he left...

Can he even sell it without the money going straight to creditors?

I was wondering the same thing. We are talking about Pirate here.

In the absence of any kind of secured claim on his financial interests or formal proceeding directing that his assets must be disbursed to creditors, he can do whatever he wants with the money.  Creditors can certainly pursue him for their claims, but he's not automatically obliged to pay them with any money he receives from any source.  Right now, I don't think anyone's even obtained a judgement against pirate for what they're owed - which is what unsecured creditors normally need to do before they can force involuntary payment through liens, garnishee orders and the like.

Sure, why not? Sell it, zhou tong it, bury it with the rest of the BCS&T loot.

I mine on Slush's pool. I like to use gpu max because it instantly gives me my hash rate, while there is no info on slush that is instant.
I think eclipse give you your hash rate pretty much instantly.
If you are using eclipse and you see your hash rate and are not selling your shares, you might as well not use gpu max.
Point them to eclipse directly and check your numbers.
Profit? Cheesy

Just a question since I haven't found a explanation for this.

I pointed my miners @GPUMAX -> Eclipse yesterday and Eclipse mining pool is showing my MH's ~ 2GH/s, which is the reality.

On the other hand GPUMAX is showing me ~1GH/s for the period of 24h. There is only short period of 2GH/s that's when half of my shares were bought.

Before I was pointing my miners to Slush's pool and it gave me ~1850MH/s for the previous 10 blocks.

Should I just skip GPUMAX and point all the miners to EMC and see if there is a difference?

Eclipse isn't using difficulty one shares anymore so it will mess up gpumax's ability to determine your rates.
