If I understood Rob correctly, it is based on the number of block found in the pool the last 7 days, but if you did not found any block it check your submitted shares.
Personally I would really prefer a simpler method and less obscure, like for each block found in the pool, share the reward based on the submitted shares since last block found in the pool.

To a degree I agree; It should be based on weighted boinc-utilised shares instead of blocks.

even better!

The pool mining is Beta @ this point.

Gotta question about pool mining, hopefully I'm in the right thread.

I'm connected to http://pool.gridcoin.us, and everything is working swimmingly.  I even found a block.

But I am completely mystified about how the ranking of the leaderboard works, and how payouts are calculated.  The pool site is pretty bare-bones, so I couldn't find any kind of help or docs on there.

The column labeled "Boinc RAC" only appears to show the first few digits of my actual RAC.  For example, if my average daily credits show in the wallet as 210,000, this column shows it only as "2100"  (is that just a display bug, or are position and payouts being calculated only on the first 4 digits of my actual RAC?)

And are there really only 18 miners using that pool? (as of the time of this post)  I would've expected a lot more people to be mining in the pool.

yes, but some more info will be very useful. For example, how payouts are calculated?

I think people are mostly solo mining at this stage

You can try to upgrade trough debug console of wallet running this command ---> grcrestarter upgrade

Am I missing something?

I'm sorry, from debug console the command it's only " upgrade "

The other command I speak about should be from command line " cmd "

Yes I'm sure it will work, but as I said I already downloaded the latest version.
Thank you very much for the help!

My pleasure, I'm glad that it's working now  Smiley

The latest version is 2.0.0.2, http://www.gridcoin.us/download/gridcoin.msi

Yes, apparently the portable version is very old and no one think is important to mention it at the official website.
I already installed 2.0.0.3. And it's syncing. Thanks everyone!

If you come in and act like a tool, be thankful that some people will actually treat you with any respect in addressing your posts.

I know I acted like a fool, just was really angry. Sorry about that!
Ok, could someone please help me solve the syncing issue?

I downloaded the latest version of the wallet.

I added these nodes in my .conf file:

addnode=71.233.139.62:9778
addnode=84.125.196.167:9778
addnode=98.114.181.178
addnode=76.187.184.27:9778
addnode=66.187.94.194:9778
addnode=76.74.177.224:9778
addnode=72.92.48.105:9778

I started the wallet and still can't sync. In this moment I have 0 active connection to Gridcoin network.

What's the client version you are running now?

v1.1.6.7-g71-prod

Have you done the download from gridcoin.us?

You need to delete the gridcoin folder at program files in your hard drive before making the new installation.

Now it's deleted, still 0 active connections...
BTW, I downloaded the portable version. (no installation)

You can try to upgrade trough debug console of wallet running this command ---> grcrestarter upgrade
