The Problem is not, to less Power, probably you can fix this issue if you take an old CD/DVD drive and plug it on the 5V Line. The most computer PSU have a computer inside, which control the output. If on the 12V Rail is the output to high and on the 5V peripheral decive output is no consumption, the PSU turn off. Thats it, simple to fix with an CD/DVD Drive. Smiley
and if you dont have an old drive: attach some USB gadget to the 5V line... or how about another fan? Smiley

EDIT: Yep, I just looked up that FSP, and they probably put both PCIe cables on the same ~220W rail. That would explain why it can only power one blade.
most dual-rail supplys split them on main/atx and molex/eps cables

use the 4pin or better 8pin ATX plug for powering the other blade

That worked. Than you sir!

Don't skimp on the PSU. Buy a brand with a reputation for quality such as Seasonic, and check jonnyguru.com or hardwaresecrets.com to make sure they've tested it with good results. Yes you're going to pay more, but it's worth it.

This one's good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119&ignorebbr=1

I bought a 500W 80+ FSP thinking it would be enough to power a non oc ant but it didnt last a minute before it shutdown. Now a 700W corsair Cougar is powering 1 1/2 ant and the FSP just half a miner.

Maybe that 500W FSP was multi-rail. That just gets in the way with mining because they often don't allow enough power on a single cable. The 550W Seasonic I linked is single-rail and can supply up to 540W of 12V with no per-cable limits. It also has two 6+2-pin PCIe connectors so you know the cables can handle it. Cheaper PSUs sometimes have only 6-pin connectors, implying possibly lower limits.
