if the group discount happens then I'm interested in 1 to the UK if it has the CE approval.
The calculators are suggesting $500 profit a day! This can't be true, right?

Yes and no. Basically, if YOU had one right now, but NOBODY else had one, then yes, it would yield about $500 a dY in Dash...

BUT that's not how it works. Asic manufacturers (in a crazy scheme to make a profit) produce and sell MORE than one ASIC at a time... More like thousands of ASICs are built, sold and shipped at a time. When a new, more powerful ASIC hits a blockchain, the increased hashpower increases the difficulty. This increase in difficulty lowers the payouts, and on and on it goes.

In this case, you don't just have this one model hitting the market, but also new models from other companies (most notably Bitmain's D3). I believe some of these machines, like Ibelink's DM11G, are already being mined by the ASIC manufacturers before they ship. This would explain the sudden astronomical increase in the Dash network hashrate.

If DASH continues to climb in price, which it may, then the price of Dash would compensate for the increase in difficulty + drop in payouts.

Hope that helped

Even though the MOQ is down to 1, Inno seems desperate to sell. Any chance you guys will be able to get a group discount? Id be interested in 1 if they can get the price down to $6-7k

They are desperate to sell at this premium price.

They know it will not last.

Why would anyone buy A5 over D3?  Compared to D3, A5 shows much less hashrate/$.  If one were to buy X11 miner, seems like D3 is a better choice unless electricity is very expensive (should not really be mining with high elec anyway).  Am I missing something?

You are not really missing anything... I mean for less than 10k, you COULD hypothetically buy 3 D3s, with a 45 GH/s hashrate...

The only thing in the pro Innosillicon column (besides wattage) is that the D3s are currently sold out.. Of course this will change, but the last batch sold out quickly. If the next batch sells out as quickly as the last batch, you may not get an opportunity #birdinhand #mootpoint

Also, there's no gaurantee the price will remain the same the next go around...
But all that's probably not worth the premium. Just thinking out loud...

Even at MOQ 1, $10k is still too steep of a price for the miner.

What bothers me with this miner is Innosilicon has a history of overstating specs like with A4 they said 800 mhs by the time they shipped miner was 276 mhs . This sale is being kept open for days so it looks like they are going to build first batch per orders received not a limited quantity so shipping will definitely be pushed back for many buyers. Ibelnk and bitmain will already be hashing by the time the A5 ships out meaning harder to ROI for A5 owners. Too many variables makes this a risky investment.

Yea..AND too many HW error (with A2/A4 i have) but with bitmain my L3+ is having 0 (ZEROOOO) HW  Grin Grin

Odd, I've not seen a significant count of hardware errors on my A2 units, but I do remember seeing a similar count on my S5 units.

Perhaps you're pushing your units too hard, or not keeping them cool enough?

I suspect Innosilicon is going to HAVE to drop the price on the A5 down to more like $6-$7k range pretty quickly if they expect to sell a significant number of them - even if they DO hit their stated specifications closely.

I asked about a group buy discount and they did not express any interest in it.  Just offered that the MOQ was now 1 unit and a free PSU.  So that is the situation as it stands right now.  I would not hold my breath that anything will change unless there is some major shift in the market or something.

Let me see if they would budge on the price if we were to put together a large order.  Lets see if there is a specific volume they will drop that price down to say 7k.

Thanks for all your efforts!!

As others have noted here.  Inno replied back that they have dropped the MOQ to 1 unit and will include a free PSU.  So there won't be any special discounts or offers to the forum on this one.  Inno says they are swamped with email and inquires.  I hope they are and that things go well for them on the A5.  It is too rich for my blood.

So now that the MOQ is 1 anyone who wants to buy one can.  The orders will be filled on a first come first served basis.  So the sooner you get your order in the sooner you will get your A5.

Not much to add to this at this time.  So no need to do a group order on the A5, you can order directly now in single unit quantities.  I am looking forward to reports from owners of the A5 how this miner works for them.

Clueless!

10k USD is very expensive, even if one free if 10 units
And their BTC exchange rate is terrible - only 2370USD ! (bitmain at the same time 2752USD)

For such price it could not compete with D3, it needs at least a 2k less price.

Yeah...I'm out....imho the bitmain units will likely be out to us at the same time we get these

if we ordered now..........just way too overpriced imho

too bad I needed some equip...but with that kinda mark up I can wait

You could buy 11 Bitmain miners for $30,000, vs 3 of these?

So...for $30,000 you can buy

Inosillicon miner 30gh x 3 = 90gh

vs

Bitmain miner 15gh x 11 = 165gh

Uhhh...

Yea thats what i thought!

I like it because of the lower power draw for the hashrate. The wiring in my house is garbage so i am limited to what i can put. Well that is if inosilicon hits the claimed numbers.

IMO the A5 isn't worth the money. Save your money and get the D3.
