I agree with him. What do you think?
even though I would like to buy 10 to 20 pcs (depending price) for personal use
I think you should limit the paypal buy for members you do not know if you can trust (for your discretion - as you are the seller)
the condition for trusted members should be very clear because there are many ppl that would like to participate in this GB & I'd rather you concentrate in selling/shipping units rather than vetting ppl.

I am a small ebay buyer (never sold anything yet) - with the same user name as in this forum
have all positive feedback as a buyer and an active account since 04/2004
http://www.ebay.com/usr/davideak
hope this helps

Even you SPAM 1,000 posts a day, your status will not change.

hmm, so how does the ranking work?
I'm a member
I've participated in 1 GB that is currently mining
Bought shares in 4 separated future GB
and from time to time post on things that interest me ...

is there anything else one should do?

So, as a new member, i will not be able to pay via paypal ? That's too bad...
(unless I spam every thread on the forum...)
The spamming part was a joke...

Any suggestions?

That will help somewhat.   I will send a pm to try to explain  some other ideas.

I can see that looking at forum level and making a decision is somewhat unfair. Philipma1957 has kindly pmed me of his views and agree to let me post his pm here:

Even if I can understand this, I'm a little pissed off because in that case I will not be able to pay using paypal and I'll have to buy BTC.

cxboy - sounds reasonable, however I don't think the 2 year seller requirement is a good one (that's way too long, anyone who has decided to get into hardware with the rise of AM, which is when most started, will have less than a year 'actively selling' mining hardware).  Verified address, signature confirmation, hell, we should even be able to work out document verification with a trusted third party if needed.  All-in-all Paypal should only be a special case... simply because we know PP is unfriendly to BTC people and the less we all use it the better.

So your danger of me doing a false chargeback will be small.

Lets say I am a bad guy. A scammer I order from you via paypal 50 sticks.

 Lets say 50 sticks are   mine at 1.4gh  so 50 x 1.4gh = 70gh.

A clever scammer gets his 50 sticks mines for 40 days.

Then puts in a  claim that the sticks do not work under paypal he has 45 days to claim  so he could return the sticks after 40 days  of free mining and you would  need to send him a refund.  Paypal favors the buyer in most cases.  My suggestion is to limit paypal sales to 5 sticks maybe 10 sticks.

Unless the buyer is a reseller ..  If the buyer is a reseller he must show his ebay sales account or his amazon sales account. Or some proof of sales a storefront etc.

He should have a 2 year or older sales account with a good record.

For your protection the scammer will hesitate to just do 5 sticks.

Also ship the sticks out to buyers with a signature request.  I am a sales guy and a miner I have been selling all kinds of gear a long time.  If I ship to a person like myself and the item has good value  500usd or more I make the person sign for it.   Not because I do not trust the buyer I do not trust all postal workers and ups drivers.

I agree with him. What do you think?

If I haven't shipped all the U1 between 15/12 to 4/1, I will be bringing them back to EU.

That means yes I will bringing them back to EU.

Thanks

Awesome!! I think that's a better option for us EU buyers...

Thank you so much for investing all that time  Cheesy

So bitmain has a gold mine here.

Don't be spouting stuff like this before the price is released, you'll give them a big head, then we'll have to pay twice what they thought they were going to get from them.  Come on people doesn't anyone play poker?

While I agree these things would be awesome if they do what they say they do and the price is consistent with other products currently available.  With 5GH/s going for $200-$300 USD and 10GH/s for $400-$600 USD, I would hope these would be between $75-$100 each but I'm not holding my breath.  Like I said, I am interested, but no way am I paying over $100 USD for them when I'm getting Red Furies for that at almost twice the speed.

Waiting patiently. Wink

if they price it high it won't sell.

We really don't know what they can produce  if they want can they make 10000 sticks a week?  Or will it just be too slow?   this game has lots of factors.  they have a nice edge with the power claimed 1 watt less then other sticks.  This mean easy to maintain hubs.

We don't know how well they will run with cgminer or bfgminer.. these are usb their other gear is ethernet.       So far The s-1 gear works okay seems to use more power then advertised  sooo my guess is… they will be a bit over priced use more power then they claim and run at 1.2 not 1.5 gh.  Which means the gold mine ain't going to happen.    Look  they have a huge mark up with the s-1.

no one with the exception of knc has ever over-delivered  on power + gh.  And even knc was a little bit late.  So I figure the price will be just a little more then I want no matter how much I bs or what I say.   I will under order then they will run out and be slow to make more.   We have waited sooo long for this  it reminds me of beanie babies.  personally  I have found out just about no ships fast at a good price and at speed + power ratings.

I am bored so I am shooting some bs at them. It was fun when the AM sticks came in and out of my house and selling them was a matter of how many I felt like listing.  I would love to see a company step up to be close to that but it is not going to happen.

You could sell 10k sticks in about 5 days.

If they work at 1.5 gh

If they pull    1.5 watts

If they use miners like cgminer and bfg miner.

Biggest of all if the price is right.

It the right price I would buy 100 sticks.  sell 80 on ebay and order another 100 sticks.

Wrong price I buy 2 or 3 of 4.

Simple enough  your sticks would be better then any usb ever made due to the lower power per stick factor that you have mentioned.

most sticks  pull 2.5 watts or more even 4 watts.  Asic miner sold 500,000 sticks .

so your company can sell just as many.  no reason not to do so.

If the stick runs at 1.5gh and 1.5 watts  it will not stress hubs and that is something no other stick can do.

So bitmain has a gold mine here.

Hi cxboyminer,

Will you be bringing some "precious cargo" (U1) when coming from Hong-Kong ? I'm asking this as I think that customs in EU are hard (taxes + burocracy) on imports from China (correct me if I'm mistaken).

P.

Hi all,
Like bitmain said on this thread:
We will guarantee that he will get enough USB miners for this group buy, but no more than 10k miners, IF cxboyminer think the price is OK. Yes, the price has not been determined.
I will be able to order not more than 10k USB. Also as I said on the first post, this group buy #1 is a pre-order group buy but I am planning on meeting bitmain sometime when I'm in Hong Kong. I have been in contact with sushi, as well as bitmain (but less with bitmain since they are busy testing out U1 prototypes and shipping S1. Sushi will help out this group buy by answering questions but I am here to help out as well as shipping...

I have been in contact with BITMAIN since last summer, before they even announced this group buy... I was going to meet up with them during late summer, but I was busy so we didn't meet up in the end.

Sorry for the wait on the price, but Sushi and I are working very hard to get the price as soon as possible as well as bitmain.

hi cxboyminer,

wasn't your group buy for UK/EU originally?

why has it changed to "[GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]"?

Are you trying to take all business for yourself?

and how come you seem to be having frequent discussions with Bitmain but no one else can?

You and Bitmain should be more open. why all the secrecy?  Seriously?

am I the only one that can see through this and see what's happening here?  Someone back me up PLEASE.

I am, for certain, not trying to take all business for myself. If there's AU reseller, US reseller then I will stop shipping to that/those place(s) and will leave it to the respective reseller(s). But for now, only I have organised a group buy of BM's U1 as well as got verified by bitmain:

HI all, we now focus most our energy on increase the production. Though I am a PR in this team, I packaged lots of miners myself in the last few days. We are hiring people and rent larger facilities. My time and attention on this forum were mostly put on the auction threads, which will send out tens of S1 miners into the community to help Antminer build solid trust in the community.

The mass produced PCB for the U1 has arrived this afternoon, and we need two or three days to make the the first batch of USB miner and another 2~3 days to test\package\ship it.

For distributors, we want to establish and go into business relationship when we know more sure what we can commit and what we cannot.

cxboyminer has been contacted with us before we announced the products. We will guarantee that he will get enough USB miners for this group buy, but no more than 10k miners, IF cxboyminer think the price is OK. Yes, the price has not been determined.

To be honest, I don't have frequent discussions with Bitmain. But maybe Bitmain only answer me and Sushi's pm? Not sure. One thing I heard from bitmain is that "they are in talks with different resellers". That's all I know, but none of them have organised any gb yet.

I was told that they were going to announce the price of U1 soon, but maybe because they were busy sending S1 out, they didn't have time to test U1. They will announce the U1 price once they finish testing the U1s.

This is a feeler thread. To gauge interest. People throughout the globe are asking to buy. Cxboyminer said that he can ship out of HK if the U1's are ready by mid December. HK is a great location to ship world wide.

I copy and pasted BITMAIN's reply to merv77's question on delivery. I've been reading these 200+ post from the time the thread started and cxboyminer complains of not being able to get replies from BITMAIN. Sushi is more active but not part of the company.

Sushi and cxboyminer will help in the next S1 auction but that is outside of the U1 distribution.

I did complain of not being able to get replies from BITMAIN. They do reply very rarely. BITMAIN goes online not to answer pms, so they might have slower response time than I do Cheesy They have stopped replying to my pms, but Sushi is kind enough to help me to contact bitmain.

I agree with sf2's point. HK is indeed a great location to ship worldwide. I am going back to Hong Kong on the 13/12 until 04/01. During that time, if I get any shipments from bitmain I will be able to send them immediately (depending on the time) since I live very close to Hong Kong General Post Office (Post Office HQ, google it Cheesy).

Thanks for now, feel free to ask me any questions related to U1 if I haven't answered them yet.

Do you think the correspondences with Bitmain are a forge?
what does it matter where he ships - as long as the unit price stays the same and everyone pays for their own shipping?

anyway - there won't be any sale until the units are in hand,
and by then we will all get pictures of them to validate the authenticity of this GB.

So you can try to organize your own sale & you'll probably have to prove that there is an interest for a large quantity - to get bitmain's interest (like shown in this thread).
but I'm sure everyone will be happy to buy the units from the first person that has them & is serious in selling.

FYI, others have contacted Bitmain in regards to regional distribution since this isn't going to be a traditional reseller/group buy arrangement.  Quite frankly it is easier for someone in the US to send to US addresses (cheaper, more reliable), someone in Australia to do the same, etc.  Makes more sense to distribute regionally and let those folks disti locally.  (Plus for the Aussie's it would probably be a little absurd to ship from China > Europe > Australia, etc.)  Folks are just waiting on Bitmain for info on functioning units/pricing/availability date and responses in regards to these distribution offers.
