If I am allotted any developer chips from the group buy please send them all to BKKCoins thanks.

Shouldn't we have a system in place like Zefir has please check his thread and set that up RagingAzn.

Also a few things:

- If you have sold your chips to someone else please make sure to email me and have the buyer email me so I can double check everything and add in their address. [email protected]
- If you haven't emailed me your info yet please do so now.

Real Name:
Address:
Phone Number:
Email:
Other Info:

- I am also looking to buy more chips from this group buy if you have any for sale.

I am the verge of finishing up my new home so I will be ready to ship without any delays. I know I haven't been active online at all!

If you have any urgent issues please feel free to text me anytime: (860) 385-2777 (google voice)

Edit:

Also, I found someone in Mass. that is able to put together an avalon clone with how many ever modules you guys would want. If you are interested in having your chips mounted please let me know. Also let me know what is the fair price you think you would pay?

My impression is that the K16 is going to be about BTC1 - BTC1.1.  That seems a legitimate ballpark.

RagingAzn how do you plan to allow us to weigh in on sample chip distribution?  Samples should ship in 1-2 weeks.

We would like to all know... RagingAzn please follow up.

Yes depending on how many samples and probably the amount of chips you bought?

I was thinking of maybe just using Terrahash's service once BkkCoins gets the Klondike boards up. I just don't have enough stake with 70 chips to do a PCB run myself. Can you post a link to the Steamboat PCB thread?

hey all chiming in...

when we pay the 1.025 fee that is on the sheet?

also are most of us sending chips to ryepdx?  "with 480 coming from ragingazn's order " was on his thread

What are some good options?
ryepdx, steamboat (will he allow ragin chips?), burnin...

I have 51 chips... I figure 2 K16s and some K1s.

I'm also curious who people are planning to use for assembly.  I've got chips here and in steamboat's batch 3.  I'm leaning towards steamboat's assembly; his operation appears well handled, and he's on batch 5 right now which makes me think he'll be getting a great price for assembly.

Other people's plans?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2278718 <--- Can we get an update like this OP?

BKKCoins clearly stated it will be open source and has done so a number of times on his own schedule and not before he has tested the design out.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190731.msg2242265#msg2242265

Da Bump... when you get time please let us know about the developer chips coming early June.

Bumping this again. Ragin... can we get a decision on this please. It is important we know what is happening with these developer chips.

Hey guys,

I've been busy with my new home. I still have not received any info from Avalon yet... JohnK did you get any info? tracking numbers etc.?

Well, there's still no updates at all from them. :/

The status at the store reads:

Order #10129 made on April 27, 2013. Order status: chips ordered.

At least that's better than my two other group buys, ordered on May 22 and May 30 which still reads Processing .

Avalon does state estimated shipping time of 9-10 weeks right?
It got ordered on the 27th april and its now 1st June. Thats almost 5 weeks. Guessing we are halfway there...

I believe the order was placed with TSMC on May 1st. I may not be remembering correctly, though.

Bithav, those are the Avalon blade boards, right? Is the microcontroller code available for those? I may just end up going that route...

Yes, they are. Code is available.

@saltfer:

Good points. I was hoping to do a review of the klondike boards in terms of electrical limits, logic design, and signal path, but this is not possible yet. I have an assembler I like, but I would not print PCBs at this stage for that design. Klondike still has the advantage of not needing an on-board FPGA, so reduced cost and modest power gains over the Avalon boards. It's more fun to have a sleek PCB, also. I think it may still be worth the wait to get that new design, try to overclock those chips...

>BKKCoins clearly stated it will be open source and has done so a number of times on his own schedule and not before he has tested the design out.

Open source usually means you make all the files in a project open for public viewing, in this case BkkCoins is keeping much of the project to himself and he's asking for licensing fees... Anyhow, if he's not releasing designs until it is "tested", that could be months from now.

There's not much sense in releasing something if you don't know yet if it'll work.  With software, it's no big deal if it doesn't work.  With hardware, though?  If he put out some half-baked board-layout files and some nimrod then generated gerbers and had boards made, how long do you suppose it'd be before a flamewar erupted as a result of the wasted effort?  With my own stuff, I only tend to push working, tested versions to GitHub (or whatever), not every little change.
