Ragingazn, I remember you saying you were talking to BkkCoin from the Klondike thread about reserving boards. Would it be possible to coordinate so that those of us from this group buy who want to can get in on that order?

I'm technically *able* to contract and have my own Klondike boards printed, I need to look at what BkkCoin has released so far. Last time I looked it wasn't a complete design on github yet. Since I only have 70 chips though, it would be easier for me to just ride along on a bigger order.

If Klondike releases a full schematic and parts list soon enough, I can help coordinate having an American assembler on a just-in-time delivery schedule, for those interested.

Cheers~

Not sure anyone is getting or will be able to "reserve" places in the line... No indication at all how all this will work. Ideally people would be better off working on board fabs locally or through various suppliers in China and giving BKKcoins royalties for boards as I am not sure what sort of capacity he can take on and what will happen with ASIC chips etc. This is all pretty much up in the air.

In terms of heat sinks people need to slow down a tad on group buys for those considering BKKCoins will be getting a number of different heat sinks to test. I personally am shipping 4 different types of heat sinks to him for testing which are various heights and configurations. Again with that ideally the shipping weight of larger numbers of heatsinks or klondike boards with heat sinks would drive up the costs so getting locally available heat sinks is best and can be after boards have asics and are shipped then people can mount their heat sinks. Or maybe your PCB fab house could do the heat sinks as well depends on the distance of shipping etc.

Who should I talk to about getting the spreadsheet changed/my name put on it?

My spoon is too big!
So I'm to assume that Ragin will / should be at the very least helping coordinate the boards (or choices for us buyers)? I want to get this going and covered before the chips start coming in.

FYI

I am speaking with manufacturers to have heatsinks made for the Klondike board. Having heatsinks made is going to be less expensive than purchasing and modifying any current solution. I need to know who is planning on purchasing boards, what quantity, and whether or not they would want a heatsink.

Specs are:
100x100x25mm
3mm base
1mm fins
2mm spacing
6000 series aluminum
4 mounting holes drilled, located in center of each 4 chip group.
Flat base/underside

This is a one time deal. Enough heatsinks need to be purchased to cover all the boards, with a few extra. Purchasing additional heatsinks in low quantity will be prohibitively expensive. These heatsinks will not be made available to the general public. They will only be made available to those offering bulk purchasing as I cannot sell these piecemeal. I will be offering them as part of a package to those who purchase chips through me.

Group buy coordinators, Large private buyers, and Klondike resellers need to contact me ASAP.

Emphasis mine.

I'm working with bkkcoins. if anyone in this early order wants to sell chips, i have 77 btc and I'll buy them at a small premium. want to have enough to provide Klondike-1s at a retail level

Do you have any idea what you plan on selling the Klondike-1s at retail?

Related; is anyone looking at assembling Klondike-1s for group buyers?

not yet, anywhere from 30-60. but really it comes down to parts (need chips!)

I planning on selling klondike 1s via retail, need chips though.

Willing to buy up to 750 chips (100 minimum) at 0.10 per chip. If you want an easy turn around and help me start my k1 retail idea, please help!

Test chips, whatever qty that ends up being, I think should go to a dev voted on by the group.  In fact I think a separate thread should be started where all the group buys can match up with all the PCB developers (with a reputable product in development aka burnin or klondike).  Of the 6 or 7 completed group buys thus far it would be a shame to not spread the wealth and get several project boards debugged ASAP.  In full disclosure I have chips in multiple group buys and would like to have multiple PCB options as well.  Help decentralize!

Great Idea Asics miner develelopment in custom hardware section. This would make things a lot easier all round.

I have 13 chips on order. The Klondike board looks like it'll be set up for 16.  Does anybody have 3 chips to unload?

If anyone else is looking to get rid of some chips, I'm already in this group buy for 13, and would love to get another 30 or so.
