Anyone tried underclock the core voltage to 0.6-0.7 volt? i cant figure out how to lower the core voltage % in afterburner. Some forums says it can cut down electricity by 20-30 percent and same hashrate with standard oc 150\500.

you need to use nvidiainspector for that and something like below in a bat file to apply profiles to each GPU.

Code:
nvidiaInspector.exe -lockVoltagePoint:0,650000 -setBaseClockOffset:0,0,100 -setMemoryClockOffset:0,0,400 -setPowerTarget:0,75 -setTempTarget:0,0,85

Or use an OS like EthOS that has those settings as part of the main settings.
I tried to lower the core voltage with the guide that posted whoteff. Works like a charm on 1060. Lowered my gpu-s wattage by 5-10 watt per card and and got the same hashrate. I also tried to undervolt a 1050ti and it doesn't work, it is killing the hashes.

Looks like 1060 3GB soon will either be landing in trash or taking chances in spec mining.

Don't underestimate it. It is still good for mining other algos and.. gaming!

What is to not be underestimated, I don't underestimate it only for gaming and it doesn't quite excel there too. As for the mining if you use it with Windows 10 and Nicehash you will be making 0.05 mBTC per card daily or 0.00005 BTC daily. You are consuming more electricity than are making any money with it. Trash is the only place where this card will go and it will be soon I guess.

My 1060 cards have paid themselves off a long time ago.  Currently they are making double what I am spending in electricity and even if they make enough to just pay for the electricity I will continue to let them run.  If I mine some shit coins I sell them and buy something I believe in but..  I don't cash out my crypto besides a little every once in a while but mainly I am holding most of it long.  So even if I am breaking even right now, if it doubles or triples later in time then win...

/\ This. I wish 2/3 of my ASICs still earned double the electricity.

So what are you guys on Windows 10 mining with these cards ? It is very sad to see that they are doing like 0.33 mBTC for 6 cards mining Equihash algorithms and it is the same with CryptonightV7.

Should I continue to mine or to sell my rig for 2000 EUR, of course I don't want to do this but a maximum of 0.35 mBTC per day is not justified with my electricity cost. Probably can build a better rig with 2000 EUR but locally no one seems interested to buy. I guess the same will be even internationally.

It's the same everywhere. The fatter a whale you are, the more chance to survive you have.

1. If you can afford it - keep mining. If you cannot, sell.
2. If you can afford to mine, but earnings are very low, pick some new coin and mine the hell out of it. then prey to the crypto god and sell when the price rises.
example: mining ETH. you mine 6 ETH per year. Price goes from $450 to $900 - you earn $2700 with a rig which costs about the same money.
Mining some other new coin: you mine 100 000 per year and price goes from $0.0001 to $0.1 = $10 000 (or it never shines and you sell your rig for 1000 and then sell the 100 000 for another 1000).
3. Sell the rig for 2000 and then invest them to buy 100 000 of some coin or buy the 6 ETH.

Worst case scenario is that you invest in a coin which dies totally or is a scam. All other options should bring you atleast partial ROI.

This seems like a terrible idea, too much at stake to risk it on an unknown coin

"or buy the 6 ETH" - as I wrote.
What would you do in his situation?

1060 6GB, Samsung. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 390 Nvidia. Dstm miner. +135 core +100 mem.

301 Sol/s at 80 watts. That is very respectable performance. I no longer buy 1050 ti. 1060 is my new bottom-end GPU.

1060 is a great GPU for mining unless you want ethash performance.

The strenght of 1060 is not the hashrate, it's the low power consumption per mh/s.

Any 1060 can keep up with +150 core and +500 mem

What are people mining with 1060 3GB ??

I have over 100 GPUS in my basement

50 1060 3gb

27 gtx 1070

18 rx 580

12 gtx 1060 6gb

am i right that ETHASH is still the best to mine? i cant mine ether because of dag

You can still mine ETH if you use windows 7 or Linux. My 2x 1060 3GB cards are still crunching away on win7
With which program are u mining eth with 1060 3gb? I also cant mine eth with nicehash, mining equihash with that card.

There are new PCI.IDS for Nvidia:

Located here: https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/10de.

They were updated on July 21. Here is what they added:

1e07   GV102
1e3c   GV102GL
1e87   GV104 [GeForce GTX 1180]
1eab   GV104M

GL stands for Quadro, while M means mobile

I wander what is the GV102 - a 1160 or 1170?

If that is 144.5 algo I got 203 on 9x (22.5 avg) so not really the suggested 23 (140c 1400m 80w).
The same get 210 Mh/s in Ethash (probably micron, and that with -100c 1400m 75w).

If 144.5 it does not sound that low.

Hey!

I have 7x 1060 3gb running on SMOS (zec) with ewbf-v0.4-cuda9.1 and i only get 22 sols per card. Nothing overclocked. Looking at others, this is really low. Overclock gives about 5 sols more

When mining eth with claymore i get about 22 mhs per card, when overclocked -200/+800/110 which is normal.

Any idea why zec is so low?

tnx
