Hihi all

I have 8 gtx 1060 6 gb

I get around 23 mhs OC.

Is this ok or can i get more mhs.

Pls advise

considering i can only get 18,5 mh/s out of my GTX 1060 6gb hynix memory, i would say you are very lucky to get 8 of them to run 23mh/s

not guaranteed. i had a samsung mem 6GB card that would barely do 21MH with mem speeds cranked +1000MHz.

My Hynix is doing 23MH which is crazy. Some are better than others! Never give up.

Could you check your card's MCU in GPU-Z Sensors tab and tell us if it fluctates or stays at 100%?

my 3GB samsung card does 25MH though.

I agree, sometimes bad ones happen. Bios reflash could fix that, too bad they are all locked.

Tried to search on different topics and blogs and couldn't find the exact results.

So, what is the hashrate of GTX 1060 on different algos? Especially on Ether.

Etherium:

1. Hynix memory - 19-20.66 Mhs @~>70W
2. Micron - 23-24 Mhs @~70W
3. Samsung - 24-25 Mhs @~70W

Hi all,

Do you think its a good idea to buy 50 1060 6gbs at this point or should I wait for new card arrivals?

Regards,
Hristo

If you can get a screaming deal on 1060's why not?  But with 1060's still at close to the price of what 1070's should be.......  Like others have said if in it for the money its trouble right now.  Cost of equipment versus what you will be pulling in with drop in crypto prices.

The power usage though... It's kind of a tough call. If you're in it for the short term, the 1060s might make sense. But long haul? Over time you are totally right, 1070s will earn a lot more (hopefully anyway [I have both]).

If you have a good price (i.e., $300 or less/card, hopefully a lot less), then yes. Over $300 I'd just wait, cards are dropping again and 1060s should be in the $250-300 range (or at least all mine were).

Card 1: Palit 6GB / Bound to 800mV 1240MHZ GPU
Card 2: Asus 3GB / PL 62%
Card 3: Nvidia FE 6GB / PL 62%
Card 4: Nvidia FE 6GB / PL 62%
Card 5: Asus Strix 6GB / PL 63%

all with MEM +800Mhz and Core 0
all with Samsung RAM

MEM 950 is possible, but RAM gets to hot

Here is a Pic with 850 Mhz RAM / 60% Fanspeed / 18° Degress Ambient

well it seems for the 6GB cards you want Micron RAM
for the 3GB cards you want Samsung RAM.

I had an ASUS 3GB card with samsung mem, that ran 25MH, it failed after 6 weeks, and i just got the RMA replacement, also with Samsung mem and it performs the same.

I have 5 Micron cards in 6GB, 1 ASUS and 4 EVGA, the ASUS card will do 22.5-23MH, and the EVGA cards do 24-24.5MH.

Hynix on a 6GB card seems to such universally (20-21MH)
Samsung on a 6GB card seems a crap shoot, the one card i had only did 21 with a +1000 OC on the ram. pathetic.

You have asked a somewhat loaded questions because ultimately it depends on the price of the cards...

Now such prices for all cards as 1060 is dangerous to take and even 6g, but who buys 3g is generally a mystery to me .. Why? I have all farms for 1060-6g, they have paid for themselves for a long time and are mined for profit, but I do not buy new carts, because it's dangerous to do it in an apartment, everything will be fucked up

There is no magic in that basically the people prefer 1063 video cards. They are cheaper, and the speed of their mining is the same (no cents count). Accordingly, according to the calculation of the price-quality 1063 best, unless, of course, if you going to mine etherium, where later you will need a large amount of memory. Actually for mining this is the only advantage of video cards 1066 against 1063.

In my opinion, the bigger drawback of the 1063 is the higher probability that you will get hynix memory in the cards. I've never found hynix in my 1066's yet.

I have:

EVGA 1066 - Hynix - 20MH/s
ASUS 1066 - Micron - 23MH/s
EVGA 1066 - Samsung - 21.4MH/s

ASUS 1063 - Samsung - 25MH/s

Is Samsung mem in the 1060 cards only good in the 3GB models? I was pretty disappointed in the 6GB 1060 with Samsung mem cause I thought it would perform as well as the ASUS 3GB that also had Samsung. Both of them OC the same. 6GB Samsung Just gets poor hashrates.
My GTX 1060 6GB card from Gigabyte also has Hynix memory.  It's usually around 21.2MH/sec.  I got 23.8MH/sec from a 3GB generic "HP" card with Samsung VRAM, but it is in the shop.

At the moment, the prices for cards are very high, and fell quite a bit. And the income from mining fell 2-2.5 times. Therefore, it is not profitable to buy cards now. Either wait for a drop in prices for those cards that are, or wait for a new arrival. And already 1060-6 cards in general there is no sense to take, except that mine etherium on them, which is not profitable at all.

Hi, I think it is not the right moment to buy the cards..
cause the price is still high for the cards, but the profits from mining is very low
in fact it is almost wall socket levels.. so maybe it is better to wait for better prices

At the current profit I would wait, when the new generation will arrive usually prices from the previous generation go down so either you can buy the new and more efficient hardware or you can buy the hardware from this generation at a better price.

I don`t know if you have mining experience already, because if the answer is no, I would suggest then to buy some cards now to get some experience, setup one rig, test with different miners, different pools, different oc settings, etc. . .

I think its bad to invest that much money in crypto mining in general right now. The profit isn't high enough to get that return.
Hey Did I ask for that???

I am asking on what card to consider at this point not if I should enter mining my friend Smiley
