The question I have is when the next card is going to come out.  I guess that would be the 1090?

Probably "Nvidia 20 Series" is next

I give it 50/50 on "Nvidia 11xx series" or "Nvidia 20xx series".

Most likely sometime first half of next year, from what I recall of the more recent NVidia announcements.

Given their current domination of AMD pretty much across the board in their PRIMARY market (gamers), I don't see them feeling a need to move anytime sooner.

I am seeing in instagram, EVGA, X8LR, PNY and a few other suppliers all are offering it in pre order for 449 USD price. While you guys complain a smaller memory compared to RX Vega 56 keep in mind this in performance is between 1070 and 1080 so a bit more than 1070 and a bit less than 1080. For that price new it seems the correct price to me, hopefully when this hits the markets on early November the price of 1060 falls down even more as I have been saving some money to buy 2 or 3 of 1060 for my mining activity.

Watch shipping charges - when I looked to preorder one from EVGA, shipping was going to kick the price up HIGHER than I ended up paying Newegg for the SAME CARD.

Might be different if you preorder more than one at a time.

The same memory than 1070 and 25% cores more.
It should be a fantastic and polyvalent GPU to mine all type of coins

TDP 180W

Standard TDP for the 1080, and quite a few higher-end 1070s are also 180 watt TDP.
MSI makes a 1070 with a 240 watt TDP, but that thing is extreme overkill and I've never been able to push mine HARD enough to get to that power level.

Yay, let's preorder a card that nobody has any idea how it performs. I'm going to wait for verified results before I pull the trigger.
I pulled the trigger on ONE because I figure it should at least be comparable on a hash/$ basis vs the 1070/1080/1080ti based on the publishes specs for Equihash mining.

It it turns out to be a particularly good ETH miner, that's an "unexpected bonus".

Memory Bus:   256 bit

LAME! VERY LAME NVIDIA!

I agree, there is stagnation in this regard... where are the 512 or 1024 bit memory bus?

Yeah look at Vega 56 https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2993/radeon-rx-vega-56 Almost 10 times the memory bus for the same price.

and one HECK of a lot lower memory CLOCK RATE.

It's not all about the bus width, it's about the width TIMES the clock.

Why would NVidia put a wider bus on a mid-range card than they put on the 1080ti or the TITAN?
Expecting 512 bit bus on this card would be STUPID.

Thanks for the results!
Just a question. I have the GTX 1070 G1. And it idles at 180w with PL 100%. Can you confirm the wattage please.
Just curious how you are measuring the watts.
Seems like it doesnt idle at 150 unless I reduce the PL in Afterburner to 75% or so.

Yikes based on this I am happy I didn’t preorder. Hopefully that’s not the average results. I will have to jump on some of the price dropped 1070s if this seems to be the overall results.  The question I guess now becomes to jump up to the 1080 ti or not. Hopefully some more results for 1070 ti start rolling in with higher hash rates. I was really expecting more overall gains from the 1070s.

Thank you for sharing.
These resultsare bad, very bad (at stock...).
Approximatively 6% more with Equihash... only with +25% in cuda cores and much power consumption.
The same result or even less with Dagger-Hashimoto and ever muche more watts burned.
