I can see why you have bumped this thread as some newbies didn't do their research and instead waiting for someone to spoon feed them the details to learn faster. I think it should be included in op that doing your own research would also help learning much easier. For newbies to know, Ratimov has made a thread that contains a list of helpful, important threads through links ranging from 2018 to 2021. The list contains threads that will be useful later on.
Yes, I still see some newbies post a new thread and ask how to learn here and understand about this forum.
And actually, this thread is not only for newbies, but to remind all members about some important information about this forum. because we know that some people may not pay full attention to some certain rules in this forum or even they may ignore it by means.  Cheesy

Yes your Right  some Newbies want to rankup immediately, like me before when someone introduce me about this Forum all I think is to earn and to rank up faster so that I can participate in any campaigns.
Yes, many newbies really think so, ranking up so soon and joining bounty campaigns or signature campaign with worthy payment as easy as they can. But in fact after asking that information, they still cannot learn much from the information, I don't say all newbies, but most are like this. they only focus on the results not on process.

I think one of the major reasons while newbies are inquisitive to rank up with immediate effect, is because they want to join a signature campaign, because i think that should be their first mindset, some of them work tirelessly to earn a merit that will guarantee them or uplift them to another rank, the problem is that if they secure this rank which they desperate to ascertain without knowing what the community is all about, what is going to be their benefit in future, see i denotes some person's are here to learn and some are here also to earn bitcoin which totally wrong from my perspective, knowledge first before any other things.

Yes your Right  some Newbies want to rankup immediately, like me before when someone introduce me about this Forum all I think is to earn and to rank up faster so that I can participate in any campaigns. But I was wrong the times goes by  I realized that knowledge is better than anything. 5 months here in Forum a lot of knowledge I learned but I think it is Only 10-25%  cause cause Everyday I encountered many things that I really don't know and now I am Still in processing and gathered more information not Only about bin Bitcoin but in the forum also.
So only thing I suggest to Newcomers here un Forum that they must build their knowledge first before they focus in Rankings.

Nowadays as I noticed many Newbies that they already registered way back previous months even last year, I don't know why they leave bitcointalk but now they came back and want to Learn Bitcoin Wich is good, so that many people will learn about Cryptocurrencies.

OP, since you are so hard at work on this subject, let me add a little tip.
Please note that there are violations on the forum, such as transferring merits to your alternate account. Probably many
So many newbies is not aware that exchanging merit to alternative account is similar to someone who plagiarised or paraphrased a work, someone can violates the law of the community unknowing if note properly gone through the protocols, procedures, rules and regulations of the community but it's not an excuse, it's very necessary to calm down and understand the reason while some rules are innate or enshrined to community more especially the new users, majority of them is concentrating on plagiarism as the major rule that can restrict them not to operate here, so it's good to study and also know the implications of plagiarism, exchanges of Merit system, and paraphrasing.

Unfortunately, lots of newbies nowadays are focusing too much of ranking-up where their post quality suffers.

Before you think about ranking up, it is essential that you share or create a thread which engages conversation and discussion about a certain topic. It is also advisable that you remove that kind of mindset and just focus on contributing. In that way, instead of you chasing the merits, it will be the other way around.

Newbies, always remember that post quality >> post quantity.

My question is very general  Cheesy. I have check the thread but I think it's a group of people abusing merit as stated in the thread. I might have been wrong or I really am wrong about it but I do see many bounty hunters that are still newbies and the post history are full of bounty reports and authentication posts.

OP, since you are so hard at work on this subject, let me add a little tip.
Please note that there are violations on the forum, such as transferring merits to your alternate account. Probably many have forgotten or do not know about it. But, DT members have repeatedly added negative marks to users' trusts for such violations. Users sooner or later identify their alternatives, there are many ways to find such accounts, and subsequently, some are very upset about their negative trust.
Therefore, it is not recommended to resort to such dishonest tricks.  Grin Shocked
I think op should add this one on the list. I do noticed that many forum users have forgotten, didn't know or still remember but didn't mentioned it. Well, I have something to add about this violation since you mentioned about it and I let op add the reason why, this is because it can defeat the purpose of merit system. We all know that theymos implemented this merit system to prevent spammers, shitposter and many more to avoid the ranking up. Take bounty hunters as example, did you see any bounty hunters rank up or received merits many times?.

It's okay  your appreciation on my thread is equivalent to thousand of Merits. I make this in order to help lower ranks cause In my experience it is hard to find more information and others tutorial about enhancing your skill and knowledge because it's located in deferent boards.

Woop just send you merit  Cool belive me ranked up is very hard nowadays. You can add "how to avoid scammer" there somewhere in this forum but i forget to copy the link
Thank you for sharing your ideas I'll already edited my thread and include what you've suggested.

Thing is, that pinned topic is perfectly enough for start, and if  every newbie bothered to check it properly, they would avoid so many mistakes they do, most common one being plagiarism (which is included as a part of Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.
Yeb you nailed it fully , mostly the new Users and Newbies and also other Users are just to lazy to read the pinned Topics.
I already have done some suggestion to highlight them in some color a year ago , but i guess this would be also dont get them to read them first.
If just the half of the new Users in the last year would be readed them maybe this would be safed a few Accounts to get banned.

Looking at your post history, I would advise you to focus more on learning about crypto and forum in general before making guides on those topics. More often than not, asking a good question worth more than just another newbie guide.

It's useless. It is useless for him to say something about the fact that the forum does not need additional guidance. There are a lot of guides on the forum from beginners who are most afraid of breaking the rules of plagiarism, etc.

Nutildah asked him to change his field of activity, but as we can see, he remains true to his "lessons"

Look what are you doing. You're not adding anything of value to the forum. You're just trying to walk a line between collecting merits and not having your posts deleted as spam.

Write something that other people actually want to read. In your own words!

If you want to get noticed, then write something noticeable.

I understand English isn't your first language and you are at a disadvantage compared to many of us. But you write a lot of posts just for the sake of writing a post -- you don't care if its bad, you just write it for money. And that's bad no matter who does it. It's spam.

OP, it looks like you're only trying for merit. Anyone who is really annoyed by your guides can be advised to start ignoring your topics.

All I shared are what I've learned here in forum as you can see I'm one of those newbies trying to learn new things.
I prefer to read than asking same question about Bitcoins cause in my opinion all I want to know is already discussed all you need is to find those topics related on your questions.

Yes your right in this thread Newbies -Read before posting there are many tutorial about the Forum guidelines but it is generalize and not including Avoid plagiarism , how to Quote and and how to use BBcodes.

Topics like yours have been made many times before here on this section and disappeared after couple of days so that's why I said it is redundant in my eyes, as same thing will happen to yours, while there is perfectly good starting point there in the pinned message.

As I see within this month there are many newbies/newcomers to our forum asking for help so I decided to make this thread so they don't have to look for a long time in other board, So I collected some links here to facilitate their study in the forum.
Thing about topics like this is that they will drop to 2nd/3d page in a few days, meaning newbies will have hard time finding it, as same thing happened to many other similar threads here in Beginners & Help section, making your topic kinda redundant. After all, there is already Newbies - Read before posting which is pinned at the top of B&H, meaning it's easily visible for anyone.

just want to add. for newbies or members who have been here for some time. if you are having a hard time or it takes too much time to quote a post that includes the author and date on the header. try installing [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome. other than it allows you to easily quote a post on a locked thread that extension has some neat features that you might find useful while you are here in the forum.

When I just came to the forum, I prefer to read rather than reply, so that I can avoid making mistakes.

Of course, I think replying to posts brings me more knowledge than reading, and maybe I will be more active in the forum in the future.

Your welcome bro hope that the links above may help to expand your knowledge about making thread, replying others post and Quoting other post you want to reply.

As I see within this month there are many newbies/newcomers to our forum asking for help so I decided to make this thread so they don't have to look for a long time in other board, So I collected some links here to facilitate their study in the forum.

As a Newbie/Necomers before doing something we must know first what are the rules and regulations in this forum.

Rules and Regulations https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

After we read and understand the rules and regulations we proceed to Ranks, Activities and Merit.

Rank and activities: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608
Merit: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-new-rank-requirements-2818350

Now we know what are the importance of Merits in our New Ranking systems,  then wee decide  to make Thread but before that  we need to study about Posting or making threads.

Newbies Read before Posting: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727

Making thread is not an easy one we need to be careful because sometimes we make mistake and plagiarized so we need to to put our resources because if you Plagiarized something it causes Temporary banned or Permanent banned. Before we replying someone we need to know how to  (Quote a message, Quoting a lock topics, Avoid Spamming or off topic replies).

Avoid plagiarism

Do not post Off topic replies

Now we have little knowledge about the forum we can continue posting and reply to other threads we like.

Important notice

OP, since you are so hard at work on this subject, let me add a little tip.
Please note that there are violations on the forum, such as transferring merits to your alternate account. Probably many have forgotten or do not know about it. But, DT members have repeatedly added negative marks to users' trusts for such violations. Users sooner or later identify their alternatives, there are many ways to find such accounts, and subsequently, some are very upset about their negative trust.
Therefore, it is not recommended to resort to such dishonest tricks.
