anyone with 280x elypedia ? cant find it ;x

With Claymore V7, it makes very little difference. Just mine with stock BIOS and set core clock as high as possible.

what ya suggest as core then ?

280x?

Try 1100Mhz

I can't believe my 7950's are kicking my rx 480 8gb's!?

7950 166 sol/s
rx 480 8gb 161 sol/s

Any idea what settings I should use for rx 480 gtr

I got 1 of these. Its actually the fastest ZEC GPU I have. Faster than the 280x. It has Hynix MFR memory. No idea how it differs from the 7950 reference but its technically a 8950.

You should EASILY get 85 Sol/s with that GPU. Its actually the only 7950, that runs stable at 1100/1575.

İ have the sama card. flashed twaeked bios 1100/1575 gave 160h/s is it normal?

Yeah its slower now than the 7970/280x with Claymore V7.

With previous versions, it was the fastest GPU due to the way it handled the memory operations.

Flashing the modded BIOS doesn't do anything for Claymore V7, but if you go back to ETH, you will get like 0.5-1.0MH/s boost in speed compared to stock bios.
If it hashes better on v6 then run v6 on that card alone. v7 on the other cards.

With Claymore V7 some of my GPUs have slowed with the modified bios's, some are faster, some are faster being stock.

Best is the reference R9 290 running at 230 h/s.

Anyone else can report.

Damn! Those things are tanks.... too bad I dont own any.

What are you getting with your 7950's now? and what CPU? I run a Sempron with 5-6 per rig which I know hurts me some.

7950 are ~155.

Im pushing about 112 average on optiminer and ethos. Not all my cards would run on the tweaked memory timings, maybe the newest update will get me closer to that number.

Yeah I am getting 155 with a stock factory bios.

Yeah but running Tahiti at 1200mhz engine will require overvolting. Not worth it.

yeah, just for test...
tahiti GPU is just weak for blake and zcash to use full memory speed with 384bit bus, maybe only if more optimization can be done to blake on GCN 1.0

Claymore V7 seems more Engine clock tuned rather than memory.

Basically all my 7950s are slower than my 7970/280x.

Memory straps do very little now. Just set your core clock as high as you can to get the most performance.

Now memory usage is better and for +160 sol/s you need more GPU power, duno if blace can be optimized more but for ~200sol/s you need +1200Mhz from tahiti 280x and prolly more from 7950 because it has less shaders

After several instacrash on v7,i undervolt and underclock. Still hashing better than v6.

I don't always drink...
Using the same concepts applied in this thread I modded a 380 ROM in an XFX 380 DD, using Claymore 7.0 at stock 1040/1500 it is now getting 120 Sol/s.  Not a huge improvement, but about 4-5%.

It was only the wind.
Some people don't seem to realize that ZEC mining puts very different demands on your card than ETH mining.  ETH mining is 100% memory reads, while ZEC mining, depending on the kernel code, can have more writes than reads.  When you modify BIOS straps for ETH mining, you might be using read-write turnaround timing that will cause write errors.  Then when someone gets errors or GPU hanging on ZEC mining, they blame the software when their BIOS mod is the issue.
A BIOS guru (not me) can create custom straps that tune each relevant timing value to their safe limits.
The following product brief shows a few of the parameters for DDR5 RAM.  For full details see a datasheet.

THANK YOU. I know how to, and I know read delays (ESPECIALLY because the reads in Eth are designed to be random, a pain in the ass) are not the BIGGEST issue when it comes to ZCash timings.

That is why also on NV 1070 on ETH, memory overclock (samsug) can work +900 (afterburner) and on zcash same card/rig only 600-650, all over is unstable
