I have that same card but only with BFR memory, so my advice is a guess, but yes, what you wrote is what I would try first.  Keep in mind that it is a risk. My advice has no guarantee and you might brick your card.  Since that card has no second BIOS, it is a risk that you have to decide upon.  I personally would try it, but then again I know how to jumper a BIOS physically and boot into program mode and reset it using a USB windows 98 boot to DOS.  Good luck.

you have the following memory timings:

Your BIOS has 3 different types of memory as indicated by the 7th character from the left of each string, (1, 2, 3)

So you want to modify the third, sixth, and last string AFTER that 7th character, unless you know which type of memory you have and you know that it is only the one designated by the 7th character.

Normally, there would be a timing before the 1500 string that was a little closer in speed, like a 1250 or 1375, so my best GUESS would be to copy the 800 string AFTER the 7th character over the 1500 strings for each of the three memory types.

Clear as mud, right?

Out of curiosity, what is the brand of the GPU?  Do you have a link to the original BIOS on the https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ page?

how to edit?

I cant find bios for my elpida or hynix (have both) 280x vapor-x. In first post only have memory bios for gigabyte cards. Help me where i can find bios please

Saved with vbe to 1020/1500 at vddc 1163

getting like 203 sol with this bios right now

when i look up the card via gpu-z i get linked to

7970/280x modified bios gets around 610h/s with XMR Claymore miner.

Doesn't really help since profitability for the day is exactly like ZEC, however much less power usuage.

280x consume a lot of energy. I have few of them and I'm trying to sell it.

I have a few very low quality Samsung memory RX 470 and they don't work with lowered timings, but those roms are really amazing! Thank you for grouping all that material together, you made our life simpler

I converted my zecs to xmr before it raised...I'm now gaining more just watching the price rather than mining :-D

Anyone here tried any of my roms with the XMR miner? Seems its getting more and more popular since ZEC mining profitability is down the drain.

Yeah thats probably why. I got a rig with that CPU also, the GPU load is never 100% and its always slightly slower. Not much you can do really.

Maybe try unlocking the 2nd core, however it didn't work for me.

Its an old cheap Sempron. Now you motivated me to try 1 card with Intel CPU.

Yeah mine are similar at 1070 and 1100 but I get 230h/s. Maybe its your processor.

Maybe you undervolt too much. I run mine at around 1 H/s per 1 Watt or so. Don't care about efficiency at the moment.

Mine are crashing when i put higher clocks and higher voltage.
stable now at 650-660 watts system from the wall for 3 cards.
