Does anyone know where that guy is and what hes doing these days? Hes not serving pizzas for a living I hope. Hehehe. That would be so ironic.

I don't have an idea on where laszlo is now. I read somewhere here in forum that he doesn't have bitcoin much I don't know if that is for real or he does have mined a lot of bitcoin. But there's one word that he said that he didn't regret when he did bought pizza's for 10,000 bitcoin. Actually I'm the one that is feeling sorry with his move but it's the start of the transactions in bitcoin and he should be credited all the time because if it is not because of him, there's no next move of transaction.

I can feel the sadness of this post the guy who bought pizza for $10000 must have some regrets right now and probably thinking i should have not use my bitcoins to buy pizza that's worth $10000

Oh well, happy pizza day everyone.
This is one of the regretful event for me because he just lost the fortune of getting rich in just a short period of time. Back in the day like in the year of 2010, the 100 USD already cost now at least 70M USD and that is very ridiculous and i hope back in 2010, i invested at least 50 USD in bitcoin and not spending time on video games.

Seven years ago, on May 22nd 2010, 2 pizzas were bought for 10'000 bitcoins, say USD 21 millions as of today.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-btc/

After a terrific roll, I wouldn't be surprised if it trades at 20'000$ in 7 years!

This is the first time I know about it, it's amazing, thanks for your notice at this forum, if this article does not exist, I will never know about it.

I had heard that history before but I had thought that it was fake. It's crazy that he bought a pizza for this amount. I saw pics on twitter of people eating pizza lol, it's nice that Bitcoin community remembers that's day and Bitcoin's growth.

I'm happy that the pizza transaction took place.

I'm happy I found Bitcoin in 2013 and not 2010.*

I'm happy I have held to some coins since then.

I'm happy.

GL to all!

If I were an owner of a shop whom they bought that pizza from and kept all those bitcoins all these years, man I would be blown away by where the value stands at right now. That is almost equivalent to how much an A-list Hollywood actor would make in a movie, or an NBA superstar's salary for one year. I can just imagine how much the price would be a couple of years from now.

I wouldn't wonder if he bought those 2 pizzas at that amount, I mean how much was 10k bitcoin around 2010 lets say $0.0025/BTC 'cause it was around $25 for both pizzas. I'm sure that person who paid for the pizza would be scratching his head thinking why'd he bought those pizzas at that amount 'cause its worth millions by now.

As much as I like the significance of it for the sake of the bitcoin culture,I equally hate it as its more of a psychological thing and not logical at all.Look at it this way, back in the 70's if you would have bought land as a commodity, you would be a billionaire by selling it in today's real estate rate. That's how investments work.Almost all the commodities like gold, silver follow the same pattern.People are making a hype of it just because it is a digital asset.

Every few weeks I am looking backward thinking "I should have".  I really should have. The awesome thing is in a few years we will be those lucky people who held a few coins and will be buying homes and sitting on a nest egg that started here.  Steven Forbes, Bill Gates and John Macafee all agree that a single Bitcoin may amount to enough to purchase a home with in 10 years.  That's awesome !!

I do wish I could sell a pizza and become a millionaire too though.  Who wouldn't?  Smiley just for  fun please read the article at tinyurl.com/bitcoinhunger

As I'm typing these where 1 Bitcoin equals 2251.00 US Dollar approximately 22510000 million dollars enough to invest in shopping malls and hardware's. I think the owner of 10000 Bitcoin at that time is happy that he bought the pizza using Bitcoin but I wonder how he feel now that bitcoins price is more than what he think it is.
If it is me I'll be thinking about it for an hour everyday of the rest of my life.

Sad for Lazlo indeed !
We should think about a way to commemorate this.
A yearly donation of satoshis or pizzas to charity.

Sounds like a neat project, a lifetime supply of Pizza's for Laszlo would be amusing or maybe someone will make a Bitcoin Pizza franchise and he will be the face and advertising of it. Ha-ha
sounds like sarcastic haha. I can't imagine how his reaction now with bitcoin prices is rising and next time think ahead if to buy somethings by bitcoin
thanks for giving the original thread "https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pizza-for-bitcoins-137"

Sounds like he would appreciate it. I don't think he held onto very many bitcoins at all. His last posts say single digit. Ouch!

The circle of life would be ironic and a bit cruel though if the one who started the franchise was Jerco and the Pizza company came to be called Jerco's Bitcoin Pizza Delivery Service but one could always appreciate the subtleties in that regardless.

Add's on

Laszlo was not the only person who spend loads of bitcoins on nonsense. I bet ya, there are many people out there who still owns Bitcoin t-shirts worth a few 1000 dollars.
Ahem my Friedcat T-Shirt is a collectible good Sir mumbles 2013

Today's Price: 0.02 or 0.01 Each
-
Christ, where are you getting your pizzas?  I've never seen any pizzas cost $22 to $44, they're usually $10 or so around here.

Today's price:  about 0.005 each, or more like 0.001 if you buy from a supermarket.

Laszlo was offering premium pricing since it was the first transaction who knew that his tip for home delivery would end up in the millions a few years later.
