A very, very big milestone for Bitcoin that's worth remembering, especially in these times when we're not sure where we're heading... Smiley

Ohh so it is this is really a bad thing for the guy who buy a pizza for that price if he only have knowledge about this cryptocurrency he is really rich  today because of that amount bad thing i guess its the most thing he do that he regrit the most in his life so dont mind this just continue trading and investing in bitcoin.

It was not predictwd that bitcoin value will grow this big, anyway at least it was proven that we can buy any with bitcoin.

I remember hearing about this when bitcoin first hit gold parity in 2013.  I was so jealous.

Damn, I read this in the newspaper today. It's crazy to think about, and how far we've come with Bitcoins.

If that pizza guy didn't care to sell his coins, he's a millionaire now!

Seven years ago, on May 22nd 2010, 2 pizzas were bought for 10'000 bitcoins, say USD 21 millions as of today.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-btc/

After a terrific roll, I wouldn't be surprised if it trades at 20'000$ in 7 years!

Oh its Laszlo day and Jerco's day it snuck up on me Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day ^^
And for Canadians Victoria Day for the May Long Weekend a Pizza sounds like the perfect fit.

Today's Price: 0.02 or 0.01 Each
Christ, where are you getting your pizzas?  I've never seen any pizzas cost $22 to $44, they're usually $10 or so around here.

Today's price:  about 0.005 each, or more like 0.001 if you buy from a supermarket.

Would be fun to know if the pizza seller kept his 10'000 bitcoins or sold them for 30$ days later !!!

I do feel pain that he sold all his Bitcoin's at a dollar
https://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/12/22/disruptions-betting-on-bitcoin/?_r=0

He may have ended up 4K richer but GAH! From 2013 to now.

Of course we never did learn if he re-entered into the positions again ^^.

Sad for Lazlo indeed !
We should think about a way to commemorate this.

I want to wish all forum members a Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day, it's going down in history with us and we need to celebrate this day annually. It's a big loss for pizza but it's a lesson to the panic sellers and hard to convince guys.

Even if I'm on his current situation if the price of bitcoin is not that just promising way back that time. I'm not going to have a second thought of buying that for real because my reaction would be, "woah, this is real I bought pizza with my bitcoins."
Anyway happy bitcoin pizza day, this is history.

Another new ATH on bitcoin pizza day, how apt. I think I will have to celebrate by getting a pizza delivery tonight. It would be rude not to wouldn't it.

This is gentlemen.

It's more than just a new ATH, if you read it as a date in European format... 22-05-10 Wink

There was a story I read a while back. I think it was here. A guy that sold a house he inherited for bitcoin. The price took a dive shortly after, but is well over the amount today. Has there been an update? Does anyone know if the seller got scared and sold at a loss or held on to them?

He probably sold them, you can look at the address of the original transaction here:
https://blockchain.info/address/17SkEw2md5avVNyYgj6RiXuQKNwkXaxFyQ

This is Lazlo's address, 81000 Bitcoins spent on pizza in total, he mentions it in another thread.
https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4

Back then this was mostly fun and experimental, and nobody really took this very seriously. Laszlo was not the only person who spend loads of

bitcoins on nonsense. I bet ya, there are many people out there who still owns Bitcoin t-shirts worth a few 1000 dollars.  Roll Eyes ... This is the thing..

bitcoins are going to increase in value over time... if you hoard forever, you will never gain any profit from it... If I take profits now, and pay all

my debt for instance... I would gain the interest on that debt and still be happy after a few year... This is a journey... enjoy it and always keep

some bitcoins stored away for the day this thing goes to the Moon.  Grin
