Thank you all for your valuable inputs. We were thinking about all possibilities and we decided to close the contest and pick the name for our hardware wallet product: Trezor

Landing site trezor.bitcoin.cz currently points to bitcointalk forum, but there'll be product website quite soon.

Hello!

Yeah, anything with a Z like razr or trezr or whatever just seems cheap. It might just be the flood of american products spelled this way though, and Tresor sounds too close to tremor in my opinion.

In all honesty, it does sound a bit like a cheap cell phone. Or an "As Seen On TV" product.

What about Bitcoin Savings and Trust? Oh wait... Roll Eyes

Hello!
January 06, 2013, 08:48:12 PM
I have another two proposals:

Tresor / Trezor

Do you like it? Which version do you like more? Do you have any association with the brand name? Please also write down what's your native language, because your associations may depend on it.

The brand name shoud associate security, reliability, something safe, not easy to break, strongness, power. It can also associate money, treasure, things of high value or lock, key, chain. It should feel strong, safe and reliable, heavy, secure. Not funny, not light, not portable. It should differentiate from other bitcoin related brand names (no “bit”).

Reminds me of a cheap cellphone for some reason

Tresor makes me immediately think about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRESOR - perhaps just because I'm a crypto freak though  Grin

Trezor is better, imho.

This thread is already pretty long, so we decided to close the contest and announce winners!

We're still not sure if we can use these names, but I and Stick like both Piglet and Oink.

caffeinewriter, Mushroomized, can you send me your bitcoin addresses to PM? I'll send you both 1 BTC.

Oink (Like a piggy bank)

Why Not piggy or piglet (raspberry pi general wallet

Good one!
Oh, and it fits nicely to your avatar too ;-)

Oink was used from Kevin Rose ,the app (name Oink) was shutting down

I know it was also some bittorrent tracker or so. It actually doesn't matter, because almost any combination of common letters has been already used for something...
