The time of hard work done pass now nah time of wisdom (that thing way them dey call Sense).
Sha e still get people way dey hard working inside this country, like we all know about some of our local marketers way their jobs nah as them sell nah so then salaries too dey increase.
Although, hard work dey pay sha but e no dey like before, now way our naira no get value con make things worst more, so even if say person do daily job and recive 5k at the end of the day only transport to go em house go finish the money, come talkless of say em recive em pay for transfer, nai be say POS too get em own share inside the 5k. So watin I dey try talk be say, this country, watin make things worst like this nah just because say our money no get value again.

Another point is to keep your circle. In your making friends and being social keep your circle real small. And make sure that they are loyal. People who will share correct update with you and not hoard information because they want to be the gatekeeper.

Be the first to invest because we are living in a face paced world. Lastly, find a need and fulfill it.

Some hardwork still do but you have to be smart and sometimes when you’re just lucky, you can find those type of work that pays you so much for the efforts and hardwork you put into achieving that. There's hardwork and there is Smart work, they are two different words with different meanings, one gives you more result and comes with less stress whereas the other is more demanding physically and emotionally and most times leaves you exhausted so it's left for the individual to choose between these two, for me I would rather work smart because it's less stressful and it involves more of your mind besides I don't think people should waste much time doing a work in such time when science and technology has made it possible for work to be easily done through machines and other innovations.

For you to make it in this country we are in ,you do not have to work hard but smart.if you take a close look you will agree with me that the people who work very hard are still poor till today ,while the people who apply wisdom in what they do are becoming richer by the day.even the Bible says”wisdom is profitable to direct”when you’re a problem solver you become more valued .take for instance two people have supermarket that they are both managing,one is using a bar code rider in his shop and also a scanner to scan a product that a customer purchased.and in the other hand the other persons has non of this things ,he still using the old  method to calculate the price of goods or items purchased by a customer,and maybe there are about 20 more persons in the cure waiting to be attended to .and the person in charge is wasting so much time with one customer.what do you think would happen.next time you won’t see those customers again because they would prefer to go to where they will attend to them faster.and the person they’re running to will make more money.while the other person will keep suffering for lack of knowing.

Now you see the both persons are working hard but the other person applied wisdom to what his is doing .he worked smart instead of working had .therefore working smart pays more than working hard.

Op I will not disagree with you because everyone has their own way of seen hard work and smart work. Now if I will break down hard work and smart work. Hard work is not necessarily that you work in government office from morning till evening or private firms. But also imply to the necessary labour. And necessary labour is the most important thing in which everyone must do to survive. Both the poor and the rich must engaged in a necessary labour. Op can you provide hard works which you know and smart work you know.

One of the smart and unconventional ways to make money that I have seen work many times in my present location is this -
If you are a church person, find one of those new generational churches wey they care more about how you dress, speak, and smell. Join one of their church departments and be committed. Usually, these are the type of churches where "big men" and "big women" go. From there on, you may even easily get in contact with these top dawgs. If you have a proposal, you could shoot tell them and or they may even pick you to handle a contract for them. Also if you now have a skill that they need - graphics designing, event planning, photography and videography they will connect you to their friends and boom you'll start making money.

   Gone are the days when hardwork pays, right now whoever works hard is doing himself because if after all the whole 8-5 work, yet still nothing tangible, it's just a waste of effort. Another person can be in the comfort of his home, still work in that time frame and make a good living out of it. The world has changed so you really don't have to go through the stress of hard labor, but sadly even with the change, someone or rather some people still just have to pass through that stress. But the fact still remains that, a stay at home job is one that even pays far more than a physically present job. You just get the necessary directions and take the right track and secure a more comfortable and paying job.

You have a point. I sensed that the OP is filled with rage probably seeing that some people who were known for their hardwork do not have the results expected of them. This is understandable but not a good way to generalise that hardwork no longer pay because it still does.

I know it's a problem with English but in reality,  we know hardwork is key to success in addition to grace. Yes I agree that those who work from home make more money than does who work 5-9. But still let's look at this, those who work from home do more hours. For example one who does moderation jobs works 12-14 hours a day most times with a different time zone  and of course the pay per week is 3 months salary of an office worker. More work hours more pay from the comfort of your apartment so truly smart work pays.

In as much as the last part of your thread is accurate, I will disagree with you on the first line that hard work doesn't pay, for you to work smart needs consistency which is a product of working hard. Whether you work online or offline, for you to make it boils down to working hard.

Time is money so if you have something like a business or industry that you can employ people to work for you e go they better o.
