Now both major US candidates accept Bitcoin for donations. Great progress for Bitcoin acceptance.

This is not the politics section so I don’t want to get too political however I wouldn’t call this a great process exactly. We are not yet sure what Kamala Harris actually thinks of crypto and bitcoin. I don’t think I have heard of any plans from her for the cryptocurrency industry.

This to me seems like a move so that she can catch up and level with Trump because Trump also accepts bitcoin. Her team probably thinks they will get more donations from the crypto community this way.

We wouldn’t get process yet until whoever wins the presidency actually makes a difference for the better.

Why Bitcoin didn't pump? people always say when government, rich people or popular people accept Bitcoin, it will pump the price! or I guess, Harris is just an average Jane? Cheesy

Regardless her campaign now accepts Bitcoin or not, it doesn't change the fact she will lose, she's just trying to copy what the other did.

This is done as a form of support for the candidate whose name has been mentioned. For me from a positive perspective, this is a good signal as a form of their efforts towards Bitcoin even though it is more towards political interests.
Any supporter who supports the candidate from the party can donate in the form of Bitcoin. If I were from the United States, I would not do it because my efforts to donate to him are likely not realized due to the special attention given to Bitcoin after he is elected. That is my concern.

Is she doing this because she needs more donations to help her campaign funding or is she only doing this because she saw how Trump is pro bitcoin and it helped his campaign and she wants to gain that market share?

Like Cameron and Tyler said a couple of weeks back, if she wants to be pro Bitcoin and pro Crypto she doesnt need to wait until she wins the election. She can take a stand now and fire Gary Gensler who is bad for the crypto industry. However its been a couple of weeks and not action really taken.

Which shows she is just doing this to buy votes and nothing more.

At the end of the day this is still a great advertisement for bitcoin which will help its adoption grow. This is simply one of those things that negates a decade of FUD about bitcoin, specially those calling it a "Ponzi scheme". People (read idiots) who were staying away because of the FUD are now seeing that bitcoin is indeed a currency.

At the same time people should not suddenly become delusional that the government stance toward something they can not control has suddenly changed. When the election is over things will go back to normal and regardless of who wins they will continue putting more restrictions on anything bitcoin related (shutting down mixers, more KYC on CEXes, more censorship enforced on miners, etc).

Who wouldn't want to receive Bitcoin money to boost their campaign?
Accepting as donation is one thing and making favourable policy for it is another
I really can't picture how a person that plans on increasing capital gain tax as well unrealised gain tax going to help investments.
Let the election just come and go
So we can be done with this fake loves.

She will lose anyway so it is good to see her adopting bitcoin while she is on her way out of the office. At least she pretends to be a crypto friendly person in her final moments. We all know she is a hardcore communist who wants to raise taxes and enforce price controls on various goods but this is a step in the right direction. Maybe she will join the Republican Party after this election and get elected in 2028. Never say never. Donald got this one though. Ez Pz lemon squeezy.

I don't think it's bad news. Even if it's not her directly accepting the donations, the fact that it's the PAC supporting the Democratic party is a step, plus the fact that the crypto industry is donating to pro-crypto congressional candidates of both parties, as the article says. The best thing that could happen is that both parties end up being pro-bitcoin.

The moron will accept anything to win this Election. From policies to accents, she can change everything and says these changes reflect her true values and can contribute great things for her country. She is very faked from ideas to her words and gestures.

The donation acceptance in Bitcoin from Harris won't help Bitcoin adoption too much. Because donators who sends donations to Harris in bitcoin actually adopted and used bitcoin before her announcement. For other people who did not use bitcoin before her announcement, if they want to donate her, they will do it in fiat, cash, whatever and don't have to start to use bitcoin just because of donations to Kamala Harris.

The linked article cires that a Political Action Committee (PAC) called "Future Forward" which supports the Democratic Party and presidential nominee Kalama Harris, are the ones who are accepting cryptocurrency donations. This should not be confused as the party or campaign itself is accepting cryptocurrency donations. A PAC is essentially a tax exempt organisation which can support political parties. The PAC's choice to accept cryptocurrency does not represent the Democratic parties beliefs or support for cryptocurrency.
