Bitcoin has accomplished a lot over the last few years and deserves a lot of credit for it but has not achieved its goal yet.  Bitcoin is set to achieve global protection whereby everyone will accept its use in terms of payment methods and apply it to their business and transactions.

Bitcoin achieving a certain goal is too broad. We can already say that it achieved many milestones that is surely hard to surpass by new and old Cryptocurrencies. I still think that Bitcoin has no goal but have a purpose which is to be used in transactions which can result into an easier way of payments. Bitcoin's value is really reassuring and would just entice other people to study and learn it which would also result into another generation of people who would use Cryptocurrency and I guess that might be Bitcoin's goal - For every people to learn about it and use it properly.

I think we should start with question "What is standard of bitcoin achievement? is it technology, price, adoption or what?" After that let we divide achievement to some stage.

In my opinion bitcoin still not achieve his goals in any term. I believe that bitcoin can grow bigger than today

Bitcoin is achieving that already, although this PayPal that came in now has kind of changed a lot on how I believed businesses would have accepted it. PayPal has an option for merchants to accept Bitcoin through PayPal, and a lot of Businesses might decide to go for that option instead of making use of Bitcoin direct , because the PayPal wouldn’t let anyone that’s using another wallet to make payment to that business unless they are making use of PayPal Bitcoin, so it wouldn’t be a good idea. But there are still businesses that are using Bitcoin.

Well, I agree with you OP. Bitcoin has certainly come a long way and it has a long way to go. Many people are of the opinion that cryptocurrencies can't replace fiat ones. But they could co-exist. What is your take on this?
Fiat and crypto have their own role in the economic system. If people are looking for a new way to use the new economic model and crypto especially bitcoin can be a solution for this but it's about whether bitcoin already achieved its goal or not. There's no goal for bitcoin but some people may think the massive adoption is the real goal of bitcoin.
Bitcoin has the main achievement to be a solution for someone who didn't like to use the centralized economic system especially to did a payment.

Yes, it has achieved it's goal considering that it is now used as a means of payment. From the best of my knowledge, that's what Satoshi's primary goal was.

Bitcoin does not have any particular goal and rather it's created to make our lives easier and help us with transactions across the border and P2P transaction without any third party getting involved. Even if there was a goal of Bitcoin then it would have been based on basic features of bitcoin rather than what we think of it today.

I don't think there is any pre-defined goal for Bitcoin, nor there is any one that is able to set goals for Bitcoin. Depends on how you view it, the very invention of Bitcoin fulfilled Satoshi's goal to make a currency that's trustless and decentralised. I don't think he ever envisioned Bitcoin to become this successful and thought of it as a way to make micro transactions.

IMO, the very end (and ideal) goal of Bitcoin is for it to achieve widespread adoption. Until we are ready to ditch fiat and go for Bitcoin, that won't happen any time soon.

I guess, if Satoshi can give his statement, I believe he will say that what bitcoin achieved up until now is already more than what he envisioned for this creation. With only a decade in existence, it already changed a lot of lives and not only one race, but all throughout the world. So I guess, the achievement of bitcoin today has already surpassed the initial goals for this invention.

As it have already being said by others in here, there is no specified or certain goal being set about what is the real goal of Bitcoin in the first place so what it have attained right now will just continue to improve and prosper benefiting us all who have been into it since the day it was created up until now that it is now moving forward and up as we can all see right now and it is now being appreciated and get to be recognized by many people compared to before that many people are criticizing its existence and importance. Although there are still lots of criticisms, but still a lot it much better right now for even big institutions are recognizing Bitcoin's worth and such may just continue to grow as technology continues to improve because it is where Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies relies and be capable of usage. Now the goal of Bitcoin will be just up into us based on our own perception of what it might look but as it is stated that there is no specified goal, then we can expect for it to just continue to grow and improve on the upcoming years of its existence.

But how we must know what is the real goal of bitcoin...we must not forget that the bitcoin is created by one person and we dont really know what is her will and what he really want from bitcoin
Its treu that all of us want crypto to remplace fiat currencies but maybe this isnt nakamoto's goal

What if the goal of BTC is ours to create? What if Bitcoin is just a tool, a gift to make our world a better place?
We can use this instrument to have a standard of value in our world, to stop trading with money that loses its value (aka fiat currencies) or become more decentralized and dependent on entities whose intentions might not be for the wellbeing of the society.

No one expect that this Bitcoin will be as big as it is now. In fact, people who had bitcoin before spend it unwisely. It's value just realized when price started to spike. And through out the years, people have seen so much potential and the goal already never ends. The only goal is when all the people around the world will discover and used it as for the day to day basis.
Actually people thought otherwise about this technology and never thought to see the technology succeed but Bitcoin has proved so many-things wrong since inception. Basically Bitcoin has achieve and still achieving some level of good stuff in the world, people has made it demand increase which is why we saw some high price since novemeber, 2020. Though more Bitcoin usage will gradually unfold and it purpose and goals will be accomplish soon.

Honestly, we don't know if Bitcoin's goal is to be achieved, it appeared in the tech world and Bitcoin offers a lot of innovation and opportunities for many to invest and make money. So is it considered a goal?

There are no specific goals bitcoin is trying to achieve. As many above have correctly pointed, given that bitcoin is a fully decentralized system, in which rules are enforced not by some rulers in charge, but by neutral code that cannot be changed easily, no one can solely decide what ends we should move to or which means we should employ to achieve something. Bitcoin was created to solve specific problems, namely the problem of double-spending in digital systems and the problem of digital scarcity. It successfully solved both of these problems and also has proved its efficiency as digital cash and digital store of wealth.

Bitcoin in a sense had a few different goals since it was released to the world and still, it is being treated differently by many investors. Some will say it is a speculative asset similar to stocks while others think of Bitcoin as a store of value that will help with extreme economic conditions like higher inflation or recession. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is also a form of money, a means of payment, and a method of transactions in a decentralized way. In my opinion, all this together is worth equal attention, and Bitcoin will succeed further without skipping any of the features it has shown so far.

Bitcoin doesn't aim to replace fiat currency because it would be possible since bitcoin is a decentralized structure and fiat is supported by the government. So I think bitcoin had already achieved its goal of being a new payment system as a digital currency that bitcoin has become the new money on the internet and other cryptocurrencies, and we are only waiting for everyone to used bitcoin worldwide to fully achieved its goal.

I agree with you, but in my opinion there is the most important thing in owning bitcoin assets, we can store assets easily, no need to carry it anywhere and your assets will be safer, like during a disaster, all paper documents, other assets can be lost, but by storing your money in bitcoin it will be safer and easier to make transactions.

Bitcoin as a payment method hasn't got much traction. On the other hand, I would even say that use of Bitcoin for payment purposes have gone down over the last 2-3 years. Currently it is being mostly used as a speculative investment asset. So I would say that Bitcoin was originally designed as a currency by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008, but it ended up as a investment asset (similar to bullion).

For me, bitcoin hasn't achieved its goal yet. Though mass adoption is increasing still only a few people know are well educated on what it is. Some people still think that bitcoin is illegal and it is used by criminals in their transaction. It will take some years to see if bitcoin will be acknowledged by most people, seeing the current situation I think that is possible.
