I'm not doing the tweets.  According to Amy, Simon is posting them.  I've let them know they are a very popular improvement over forum updates and blog posts.

Wait a second - they are a popular improvement over forum updates and blog posts because you are not doing any forum updates or blog posts. The way you communicate this information is not as important as the fact that you are actually giving us information or engaging us in a discussion.

Hey CL, considering we know you are online and reading posts AT THIS MOMENT. Could you please verify if batch 1 refunds will be issued in USD or BTC?

For example:  I paid 89 btc for my 2 batch 1 babyjets.  Will I receive 11,000 usd, or will I receive 89 btc?

We all know what has been promised and what to expect... If you do not respond, I will take it to mean USD, so you might as well respond.

I'm not sure where the " <0.5W/GH/s underclocked" claim came from.

It came from Simon himself:

Chip Specs
 - 28nm custom ASIC
 - Power Consumption: significantly less than 1.0 W/GH at nominal clock speed
 - Designed to be underclocked for greater efficiency – better than 0.5 W/GH*
 - Designed to be overclocked for greater performance  - better than 500GH/s**

Oh I see, thanks!    Smiley

That squares with the advertised specs when you factor in the rest of his post:

* Real silicon power consumption may vary from simulation results by plus or minus 20%

** May require improved power supplies in the chassis

GN chip bringup - Power consumption: 0.14ua/MHz at 0.77volts at low speeds. That's 0.56W/GH/s. More tests happening now.

These twitter updates are great. Whoever at HF is doing these, thank you.

0.56W/GH/s does not sound very encouraging since they were advertising <0.5W/GH/s underclocked. Not sure at what speed they are testing at but it looks like consumption is +10% of what they were shooting for?

HashFast_CL is doing them, though I have no idea who that is.  I asked them for W/GH/s and I'm glad that they put it up today.  They said they should have details on max clock speed and thermals within the next 24 h

The W/GH/s is preliminary and will change when the chip runs at full speed.

I'm not doing the tweets.  According to Amy, Simon is posting them.  I've let them know they are a very popular improvement over forum updates and blog posts.

According the product page, HashFast is advertising

Quote
Power Consumption at the chip: less than 0.65 W/GH/s +/- 20%
Designed to be underclocked for greater efficiency, and overclocked for greater performance*

so I'm not sure where the " <0.5W/GH/s underclocked" claim came from.

ALWAYS BET ON iCE...

Since you like to bet, how about accepting mine?

I have 5 BTC that says HashFast will not ship a working miner containing Golden Nonce chips to even one customer in 2013.  (It has to be physical delivery.  Hosting doesn't count.)

Care to put up 5 BTC of your own against that?

Sounds good to me.  I presume you're OK with using John K for escrow.

Care to make it 10 BTC?   Cool

ALWAYS BET ON iCE...
Just to clarify in advance - me getting one will NOT count as delivering a working miner to a customer as I'm contracted by them and not a customer.

You referring to me? I never claimed to be any expert. Another internet tough guy hurling insults. Again its not my problem what they did with my btc. I'm not an investor, their bills are not my problem nor should I be involved with what currency they are paid in. Its documented they said they would refund in btc, i have quoted and referenced the post. Call me stupid for believing the founder of the company, fine. But, what kind of guy does that make you for kicking a guy when he's down?

I didn't delete my post and I wasn't talking about you..

they may have chaged the terms of service now, but when we purchased they said if not delivered by dec31, the btc will be returned.  I would not have ordered otherwise. I have an email from them clearly stating this.

You might want to hold onto that email.

Though you can bet they are going to move heaven and earth to get shipping labels in the system for every batch 1 order by midnight honolulu time.

I will always remember when due to the euro going lower and a full refund policy i found myself with a few % more after asking for a refund (that was not btc related).

Anyway, what are we discussing? They promised BTC refunds, there is not a lot to argue. They probably won't issue them, they won't have to (i mean, they won't issue the USD refunds they will have to issue after non issuing BTC refunds in the case they don't ship by the end of this month).

I guess we're arguing with yet another person who thinks they are pretend-law-expert. I don't even know why Hashfast said they would accept money in BTC. All their bills are in USD. It was just a marketing ploy (much like MPP) and I suppose if you couldn't see through that, people need someone to blame (since blaming yourself for a bad gamble seems to be too much to handle).

Its not the customers problem what the company does with the btc.

If you live in europe and decide to buy from an american company , do you expect a refund in USD if you paid in euro? No. Too fucking bad. Either way the point is moot if they deliver in the next 27 days. Looks like they are making progress on my overpriced october miner, to be delivered in december.
You won't get a refund in USD, but if you pay US$1000 for an item and €800 gets charged to your card don't be surprised when you get €600 back from a refund in a month if the value of the Euro goes up 25%.

Even if they do deliver a couple prototypes before then, to win those few bets hanging around (sounds familiar, doesn't it?)...
Do you really think batch 1 will be fullfilled within the next 27 days?  Roll Eyes

2 weeks ago i would and have said no way its coming this month. Today, odds looking a little better. Going to be rough with Xmas coming. Curious what the mining controller is? Taco can you ask them that?
