So the article is just the result of the same vague marketing answers as always or they promised them real dates that they can't give to their actual customers?

What can i say, that article is a really interesting article over nothing on a website of nothing.
Quite weird, that they had to pay/contact the website to publish... Such nothing.

Website probably contacted them... as the website has contacted a lot of people and asked for articles about their "projects".

Found this (Nov 1) article on reddit:

We will have some fantastic information about Hashfast in the next few days, so you may want to hold back on making a mining hardware investment until we release Hashfast's latest updates.

Not entirely sure what that means.. but hey.

I'm gonna go out on my limb again and say that IMO they will not ship any finished miners before April 2014.

And no, Luke-Jr "receiving" a miner that lives on a bench in a lab at HF HQ does not count as shipping a finished miner.

I mostly say this because I think that producing a working chip with 250W TDP is an enormous challenge, even for a seasoned chip-maker.

Although not quite believe that can keep the deadline, but still I assume that we're dealing with another BFL.
The question is not whether provide, but how much HF are late. With each passing day, the sense of buying from HF decreases, moving quickly to zero.
Until recently, I was hoping that would be cost-effective purchase an upgrade module. Now I lost faith with it makes sense.

End of dec 31 2013 delivery no RIO not a good buy and im a batch 1 order

Anyway why TMSC doesn't produce the substrate for their own chips? It's something that i can't understand.

Because its a completely different kind of product, wafers vs chip packaging. Packaging is (usually) low tech, extremely diverse and very low margin. Its almost the exact opposite of wafer production.

Nevertheless, TSMC does packaging and the only reason I see why HF isn't using it are cost savings. Thus provoking delays for transports and additional steps in the production chain, resulting in an overall delay of the finished product. And that for an item, for which time to market is an/the essential factor.

Probably one at HF knew a guy who could provide it some cents cheaper. I smell the "smart management guys recommendations"-stench all over the place.

this is like Challenger all over again :p

at least we had no frosty nights in california recently

Who's 'their guy' in Australia that is making their stuff?  Is he the one with the bad substrates?

Did they get their limited edition seasonic power supplies yet?

They won't give me any information on where the fudge ups occurred beyond, "It was entirely the fault of our company," so we may never know

Taco Time,

Any news on refunds for those that were given a ship date of October 20th-30th when they purchased their miners before the August 15th change of the TOS?

Ninjapro talks about how professional they seem but a professional company does not give out a shipping date, says they are on track until 2 days before that said shipping date, announce delays, and then deny refunds.

I really did believe in this company and that's why I purchased Baby Jet instead of a 2nd Jupiter.  I would have been hashing with the Jupiter right now.

I sent another e-mail asking about this again, and also asking for board/case dimensions as I'm getting lots of requests for these

As I said before, HF is only telling me "Batch one will definitely be out before or on Dec 31, 2013."  I wish I could provide you guys with something more solid, but that's all I've been told.

Also: I can confirm that fiat purchases with MPP will still use BTC as the metric for giving additional hardware, based on the value of BTC on the day of purchase.

~14 HF employees covering everything from ASIC design (Mainly done in Australia)

The chips are made in China and the machines assembled in Canada...

edit:  i would feel a little better if they would confirm the mid nov ship time
Not gonna happen, they kept pushing on the "before next year" shipping date since the delay. They will have to find alternative excuses for the delay after November, tough
