Yeah, I don't plan to tell you guys anything too crazy beyond what the company tells me and I'm sorry for confusing the fiat/BTC issue with the MPP.  I'm also not really here to Josh it up and promise two weeks and a personal visit from Santa Claus with a bag full of ASICs at the end of the next difficulty period.

I AM here here to write scathing e-mails to HashFast when they make it hard for their customers to want to purchase their products, as I think their business and all of our personal investments will fail if the customers can't see value in what they are doing.  And I've done that already, and I'm still trying to pry the information you guys (and I) want from them.

Are you sure about the dimensions of the sierra?   It is Sierra: 17” x 16” x 14” — 44.5 pounds?
I thought it was 4U?   That would be 7" in Height...

While Tacotime has been doing a great job, I'd much prefer someone from HF to give official updates directly. They have bitcointalk accounts, so why not use them?

Deniability, if the question is not rhetorical.

Hashfast has a history of employing is-he-or-ain't-he official spokespeople, notably starting with Cypherdoc, giving him false info to disclose, and then denying it from one of the "official" Hashfast accounts.
Tacotime is just the next guy in line (and doesn't shill like Cypher).

If anyone doubts this, i'll be happy to dig for the links Smiley

this company is so full of smoke and mirrors, its a certified fun house. Everyone needs to pull their money out of this company as soon as they can. They are no KNC.

People who bought before August 15th and are looking to obtain a refund, HashFast has told me that there is internal arbitration going on for this matter and that a decision about whether or not you will be able to refund your purchase will be made by Monday.

I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting on this..

Indeed. Any news taco?

They told me they'll know later today about the refunds.

Here are dimensions/masses of the units themselves:
  • Baby Jet: 21.8” x 8.3” x 20.5” — 22 pounds (standalone)
  • Sierra: 17” x 16” x 7” — 44.5 pounds (4U 19-inch rack mountable)

I just started looking into HashFast company.
On there website I can see that if I order today, i will be part of the third batch.
But I see that there's still no shipping date for batch one.
After batch one is shipped, is there going to be a break until batch two is shipped ?

from recent news seems now. It sounds like batch one will ship 1, 2 weeks max before batch 2
Please don't trow away your imagination like that.

Cant really gauge what their shipping date is @ first they said mid oct 20 till oct 30 now they say mid nov, now they completely took off their shipping estimate, they have not change full refund if no shipped products by dec 31 2013.
wont be surpise if they dont ship past that date and get no RIO.

The company hasn't specified the delay between them, but once ciara gets chips and pcbs they should be making and shipping at rates of more than one thousand units per day.

Well I asked again about any shipping updates and they told me that they "hope" to have one update this week.

They also told me that cases and everything else is being assenbled (check pictures on website they said) and that they are trying to do their best to ship as soon as possible.

I find the comment of the pictures really funny because the only parts shown were a sierra case, psu and cooling, not the pcbs or the case of BJs they claim to be already assenbling. I suposse its also under NDA  Cheesy

We are in line with a delivery before the end of this year. Everything else is under NDA; thanks for asking.
It would be funny have such an update at this point.

Any breaking news yet when we will receive our miners from Hashfast?
We should have some news on tuesday. Not because HF decided that we deserve an update, but because the icedrill asset should have an update by then. Thank you, icedrill.

Ok waiting for the next PR bullshit!

You should leave the conversion % increase at 0 because if the mining equipment isn't going to ROI in BTC terms then what is the point of going through the trouble of mining when you could have just bought BTC.

That is what I'm trying to figure out... if you can get ROI.   If you're using a calculator that calculates your return over several months, I would assume you need to include the change in BTC currency value over that period.
For instance, if I spend $6k, then spend 6 months mining, those coins earned in 6 months aren't still worth the $213 (or whatever current value is today)... if they're worth more, that could help your ROI.

I'll give this a shot:

Imagine that the miner you bought is a *dollar printing machine*, which you buy with *dollars*.
When trying to figure out if it makes sense to buy this gizmo, do you need to know how *the dollar* price will change relative to the yen?

Hopefully, you've answered "No.  All i need to do is know how many dollars this gizmo will print in its lifetime, and how much i have to pay for it.  If I pay less than it makes, I win.  If not, then no deal."

Now substitute BTC for dollar.
Potip:  If you think bitcoin's going up in price, buy bitcoin with the money you would have spent on the mining gear FTW.

I'm with ya, thanks for the analogy!  Alright I'm going to go buy BTC and hide them under my mattress.
