"hacker stole our domain" is kinda new-ish.
I beleve "Water in our datacenter" that CLDmine used was kinda unique aswell Smiley
Anyone remember any other unique excuses used for shit and giggles?

Oh yes, I remember the excuse given by topmine

It is:

Next one should be something like " Winter is coming on our servers ". Grin

Look what i found LOL. Do u believe these guys? So far no deposits on it, but that will prob change once it gets around...

I found this online: Hashocean Refunds 10 uur · Dear members/miners, as you may have noticed our domain has been hacked and sold, this was beyond our control and despite our teams very best efforts we have been unable to recover it. Our official Facebook, Twitter and Youtube accounts have also been hacked and closed. We have had to take the unprecedented step now to admit defeat, the hackers have won and Hashocean is no more. Our domain and our Data Centres were not directly linked but to be sure our members investments were protected we have been forced to cease all mining operations with immediate effect and transfer all remaining BTC (Approx $3,500,000) to a new secure wallet as we can't be 100% sure the hackers won't be able to get access to your investments eventually. We have been able to recover a partial backup containing our final full days transactions/payouts along with our customer database and wish to refund as many of our customers as possible but we fear this might not be possible as we suspect the hacker/hackers may of been clients who accessed our domain via fake customer accounts they had setup so the only way we can resolve the matter is as follows: (Customers will be refunded strictly on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis, when the secured funds are gone, they are gone) Please carefully take note of the EXACT amount of the last confirmed BTC payment you received from us dated 26th June 2016. Please send this EXACT amount of BTC to the below secure wallet address - please include with the payment notes your registered email address for Hashocean (DO NOT SEND ACCOUNT PASSWORD) 14gpLjzLMGhwM9jeCBUmCmkxznKVcudKfn We will cross reference your payment and email address with our backup records and as long as they match we will then refund that payment along with your investment back to your accounts registered wallet.(We estimate the process to take no longer than 72Hrs from receipt of your payment to processing of refund) Please note we will only be refunding the funds you invested plus any re-invested funds, we will not be refunding any sign-up/referral/bonus funds at this time - we think this is the fairest approach so as to refund as many of our loyal investors as possible, if after this process is complete there are any funds remaining we will then start the process of refunding any referral/bonus funds, again on a first come, first served basis - watch this page for updates. Finally please be extra careful with your account details, we have been informed of a number of fake websites etc. that have been set up using our name and tricking people into disclosing their wallet details, email address and passwords - PLEASE do not send any of your personal details to anyone ever by unsecured methods such as email or website. Yours, Team Hashocean

You don't have to invest to ponzis.... you're not forcing to.... but please don't tell people that they don't earn investing to ponzis because they do earn.

And yes it's a risk, like any other investment is.

Ponzi schemes are stealing by lying.
If you put money in a Ponzi knowingly, you are helping the thief. You don't "earn" money, you steal it from later "investors".
On balance, the only people to make money from Ponzis are the admins.

I started with HashProfit and i lost.
I invested to HashOcean and i had profit.
I will continue invest to cloudmining and i will earn again and i know i will.
No .... i'm not stealing  from later "investors"
I take a risk to invest and i earn.
It's my choice.

is there any petition to report them to FBI?

Perhaps it would be better to find a headhunter on Darknet *joking* Wink

I don't think we can do anything by reporting them anywhere. no one can get these peoples money back who lost in hashocean. it was not the first time peoples got scammed.. every cloudmining did the same thing with these stupid bitcoin users who love to get free money but don't want to do anything..
now just blame your self for this.. no one can help you.

I'm sure it will not bring the money back but it will as well don't give them the chance too scam. And there need to be a rrethinking in the whole btc scene that this scammer are not accepted. this don't take much time to report, but could prevent other's to get scammed. Just think how would you act if you would see a scammer in real life would you just let him scam? What would you do? Would you accept such people in your society?
Well bitcointalk has the trust system, they always advise to escrow, to take guarantees and so on. Since bitcoins are difficult to trace not much can be done about scammers, but there are ways to prevent scams. (The easiest one is to think critically and not fall in the Hype trap, if something's ROI is way above every competitor something is not right...)

As long as the escrow service itself it's not a scam.Been there done that.....TWICE.

First of all i don't know very good English so forgive me about the way i type.

Dear everyone .....

You have to understand that you can win from ponzis..... you can have profit from ponzis and that's the way it's.
There are 2 thing for sure in life.
First it's death and second is that you can win ..... you can have profit investing to ponzis.

A ponzi will shut down in a few months like it happened with HashProfit (last year if i'm not mistaken) and HashOcean,
but until that happens you can have profit.
The 2..3..4...5... months money back is real .... and after that period you have profit.

You don't have to invest to ponzis.... you're not forcing to.... but please don't tell people that they don't earn investing to ponzis because they do earn.

And yes it's a risk, like any other investment is.

For those who invested to HashOcean 2 weeks ....1 month ... 2 months ago, yes .... ok i agree they lost their bitcoins.....
but investing to a new cloud mining company will induce you profit.

When i invested to HashProfit i lost my money cause i belonged to the ones who invested a few weeks before HashProfit shut down.
When i invested to HashOcean i managed to earn back my investment, earn the amount i lost using HashProfit and earn just a very small profit.
