With that amount of money, you'd likely need to make some risks. Don't really bother holding Bitcoin and Ethereum and other bigger crypto-currencied since they won't really be a good profit for a low amount.

Instead look at smaller coins, that are either icoing or trading. If you pick the current ones and do your research you can expect crazy profits, unlike any other top coin on the market.

That is actually a big amount to start trading with. It deoends whether if you do have an experience in trading. If you are new, try trading in small amounts because trading is risky and complicated in the beginning. Watch video tutorials and read through this forum for you to gain some knowledge about trading. $500 is more than enough in my opinion. If you can afford to risk that in trading then fine. Don't trade with money you can't afford to lose.
Have you learned how to trade cryptocurrency? I will suggest you learn to trade first. There are lots of good tutorials on cryptocurrency trading on youtube. If you prefer reading then I would suggest you google "best Cryptocurrency trading ebooks"

If I were you, I would split that money into @$250. I will use $250 to buy low price potential coins, and the other $250 for trade daily. But I need to make sure that I have enough skills to trade because, in these situations, it is not easy to choose the right coin to trade daily. The market still moving, and it is hard to analyze any coins because all of the coins will have the same opportunity to increase. Sometimes we will get confused to select the coin, and without research, we can choose the wrong coin.

$ 500 is enough to get you started investing in crypto currency. My only advice to you is to buy cheap coins with high potential for a higher price. Yes I think it is enough to start daily trading but you may need enough knowledge for doing it or just begin as short term trader then you can trade more often.And also pick an exchange where you have less trading fee then you can grab more profits.

Professional traders use thousands of dollars for trading, believe me i have seen this, with only few trade they make thousands but its true that you can trade with minimum of 1$ but make sure you know what trading is all about and how it works

I even started trading with a penny in the first place because we ourselves intended to learn. so indeed if we want to benefit on a large scale we should be able to start with small things. do not let you ambitious with big things without insight and experience

And if OP wanted to start to learn about trading, $500 is enough to have an experience and knowledge about trading, I've started trading with smaller amount than $500, I've learned the basics and the things I should need to do, even the level of risk or when and how to even start trading.
