I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Lol, as they say, rules are created to be broken Cheesy.

We used to play a different game but after school when we were on our way home or sometimes in the evenings when our friends used to go out to play. It used to be a sort of board game with six different pictures on it, like maybe movie actors, sportsmen, politicians, etc. Then there used to be a big dice having the same pictures on all six sides of it.
A lot of things happens at the teenage age, especially when an individual just clock the adult age, at that point you'll want to explore and experience things you never had the chance to, many people started gambling due to peer pressure and no doubt that a lot of gamblers here can testify to that, I've read through this thread and replies from people are very funny but I've also seen that most people started gambling during their school days and due to peer pressure.

I won't deny the fact that I'm a victim to that too, i started gambling during college days and it was through some friends at first I never liked it cause I felt people dont make profits from it, not until a close pal used $30 to make about $150, it really impressed our circle of friends and we all agreed to donate money to and give to the dude who won to help us gamble, lol that's how it all began, I broke my rules and joined friends to gamble.
It is natural to take a look at those days and being unable to believe the things we did and wonder what were we thinking, as at the time not only you are making the transition from being a kid in which your parents took all the decisions, to eventually become an adult that now takes all his decision, that specific period of time is also one of exploration and with such a spirit behind it, it is natural to make all kind of mistakes, but as long as the mistakes are not life-changing, it does not really matter that much to make them as that is how we learn to avoid them in the future.

Speaking about school days, I remember playing this game with coins: each of us classmates should hold some coins in the closed fist and the one who had more money in his fist took all the money from others, was shaking them in his closed palms and was throwing the coins on the windowsill. Then all the coins that were "heads" were his immediately and for other coins he should fight tossing them one by one onto the windowsill if they were turning "heads" he took them too. In the case of failing the turn would go to another player. The crazy bit was that it was forbidden to play such games in school and yet we were playing them almost every day.

Now, the game used to be this way, you are supposed to pick one or multiple pictures and place your bets on them, once all the bettors have placed their bets, the person managing the board would roll the dice, and the picture that comes on the top side of the dice would be the winner, and those who placed their bets on that picture will win. Winnings used to be dependent on the amount you are betting, but it usually used to be 2x of the amount.

~One of the things most people do not realize is that gambling can be potentially everywhere, so you do not have to stick to the classic games that everyone knows, on our school the most common bets could have been classified as sport bets, as we often competed to see who was the fastest or who could score the most points in a game, like most kids would, and once it ended you realized that your peers have been trying to predict the outcome of the competition and put money forward to support their point view, at the time I am sure that most of us did not thought about this as gambling, but now that I think about it, it is clear that it was.

Of course, in the past there were several things that school children did with the aim of playing and earning some money. When it comes to using coins, I remember when several classmates played almost the same as what you did before.
But the difference is that in the past my friends collected the coins that each of them had on floor marked with circle with red bricks, the coins they collected had to be thrown with another coin to get them out of the circle marked.
They will each take turns throwing it and whoever can get money out of the circle has the right to get it, this can take quite long time because one correct throw may not necessarily be able to get more than 4 or 5 coins out.

I have never followed this game because it is not easy, but watching it looks quite interesting because those who fail will be ridiculed or cursed with derisive words.

Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?
I think most of us have this kind of childhood or teenage memories where we use to gamble at school, or at least make some bets during school hours.
This reminds me of the time when I was in high school, and I was setting a match with money involve along with my class mates and we didn't notice that our teacher was already at the room and heard about it, luckily he wasn't so strict and just let it slide and starts the class.
I have no memory of gambling in my childhood and adolescence a few friends I used to play with at school didn't see any moves like that I bet I would too. My parents were very strict and always tried to keep me under control. But now it is not possible to keep the school children under control for online betting they are able to bet very easily. The family does not know anything.

Yes, I do understand that everyone have done different kinds of memories in betting. I do love when I am taking multiple games but not putting much amount on it just something I can afford and at last I do finally win even more better than when I stay higher. Sometimes I do love taking the games because I feel like taking the way you win more and when ever you stay higher, you always have a higher chance of losing, sometimes it really gets me  confused l

In youth when everyone lives with money from father or some other parent then they don't value their money because they don't have to earn it hard.  And at that time everyone gets addicted to bad habits and this habit cannot be forgotten later when they become adults. And gaming is something that is highly addictive and adults can also be attracted to it because of the financial issues involved.  It is possible to win a lot of money from here, this greed makes people addicted to gambling. And when more addicted, people act like crazy for gambling
If that young people doesn't values the money from their parents and just spends it for something that's useless, they will not gets the benefits and will only lose that money. If they use the money to playing gambling without thinks about limiting the money, they will sees that their money will lose fast without have a chance to wins some money. After all, gambling is not a place to make money and they can becomes addicted to gambling without they realizes and that can makes them spends more money and lose all of the money. When they becomes addicted to gambling, they will use all money from their parents and that's crazy thing they do because they can use that money for other things that will helps them to have better lives but they spends it for playing gambling.

Patience is key
I've done a lot of shits when it comes to betting lol, i rememberd back then at school then there was no online casino we play football and also bet with cards. I don't go to class what I do every day of my life it's to go the betting hall and skip classes, their was one setting time i was gambling with one of my friend he was winning me I had no money on me anymore so I decided to bet my shoes just one leg.

Thinking I'm going to win him but no way, he won then I decided to bet the second leg he also won I've no shoes to go home. I started begging him he said he'll only release one leg to me then the next day I should provide his money, I thank him for that but when I got home my mom asked where is one leg of my shoes.

I told him my teacher sized it cause I was supposed to pay for his assignments, my mom said how much is it. I told her it was $20 then the next day at school i paid him his money, then I continue gambling with the little money I had with me. The worst part is that I don't quite not knowing that I was going to far it.

That wasn't the worst part of it, the worst part of it's when I took my school fees and gambled with it. Some days I do win but my winning days are not much cause I wasn't that addicted to it but those people I was betting with they're addicted to it they don't care if school is going on or not they don't go home when school is over. But I continue gambling with them not until the I was supposed to pay my school fees.

My gave me my school fees and that morning i didn't even bother to go to school or the class I went straight to the gambling hall holding a huge amount of money on me. Thinking I'll add more to it but not knowing I'm going to add more loss to myself, then I started gambling first I was winning cause my spirit was high lol.

Cause I was loaded in me I was so strong enough to gamble with anyone that comes my way, then I faced the same person that took my shoes I decided to bet with him we started with a little amount he won. Then we continue with an higher amount i won him. I was so happy, not knowing that I just pissed him up.

We continue then he was so angry we continued he started winning me, then I started losing I was left with just a little amount on me I was supposed to go and deposit that the principal but i didn't thinking I'm going to use that i get back my money. First I won him again but that was my last winning with him, then i stakes up all the money on me thinking that if I stake all I'm going to get the amount i needed to pay to principal.

I did the wrong thing ever he won me then I've nothing left to go home with my school fees was also gone. I started crying i had no choice than to sell my my cell phone to them just to pay off my school fees, cause my dad is a military person I can't bear his beating. So I decided to volunteer my source just to not get into trouble, this stopped gambling and i avoided the wrong friendship at school. This is what betting have done to me so far.

This is very funny though. You made me remembered my friend back then in secondary school days. When he is given transport fare to school, he keeps the money and trek a long distance to school so as to get money for the game he plays in the class with his class mates.

Then we were in two different class ( A and B ) so when  it is break time, he and his friends put money to play a game called skep and it is played by ruling of lines on the ground covering a long distance and any one who plays to the last lap wins the entire money, any one who plays out line starts afresh from the beginning. This game can be played by more than 4 people at the same time. It is played with bottle cover called canta.

Those days, this game is amongst one of the games played by students when they want to gamble and challenge each other for superiority in that game aspect of exercise.

I myself have never done anything crazy to bet, because I think there is no guarantee of winning and making things better. I gamble appropriately with the money I bet that is what I can afford to lose. and in my opinion those who dare to bet on crazy things like selling property or other things to gamble again, I think they are people who have been hypnotized by gambling, so they think that by continuing to gamble there is a win that can be obtained.
...

people who gamble on things they shouldn't gamble on are people who are blinded by gambling and don't have rational thinking. because if he had long-term thinking, then he would not want to gamble his house or car just to get money from their gambling. because people who gamble on things like that to get their money back mostly end tragically, where they not only lose their money but also their assets, and this often happens in casinos, so if a gambler is wise they wouldn't want to make the mistakes those people made.
I don't know what they should be called, there are times they don't play so I am not picturing a gambling addict but when they do gamble it will take most of their properties before they end the game.
I've seen it many times in the street playing the game called "kara krus" here in the neighborhood near us. I am not involved but many people are already watching because they know the person who is gambling and he is also popular for having a great amount of riches.
He is losing and is not able to withdraw more funds from his ATM but he has his gold bracelet, rings, Jordan shoes, keys to the motorcycle and the car, and more. He doesn't like to stand up just to go home or go to the bank to withdraw so he continues playing there and pawning his possessions until he ends up with nothing.
It's crazy to think that a person could do that but he did and he didn't even have a sad eye after he lost everything. I don't know why.

~ During our entire trip, he was out of his mood and he was not able to enjoy the vacation that my mother planned for years.

That's quite a story, mate. I'm really sorry for what happened with your brother, and I hope something like this will never happen again. Somehow, it was one of the most touching texts I've ever read on this forum. Thanks for sharing!

I think every gambler can relate to that story to a greater or lesser extent. And when we are acting like this, some of us lose a lot, others not so big but still a painful amount. It happens to every gambler at some point.

I think that those who do crazy things in gambling are those who cannot control themselves properly. Because gambling will usually only end in defeat and I think those who do crazy rights in gambling are because they cannot accept the defeat that is certain to occur, and I think they do that because they are frustrated with the gambling that is done, with their frustrated state that might make them dare to do crazy things. Like risking all the money they have in the hope that the last bet is because of frustration can turn things around by getting a win that can cover all the losses that have occurred.
With them thinking they can make money by gambling it is one of the problem points, where such thinking is likely to only make them unable to accept defeat and make them addicted to gambling alone.
I am not sure about doing crazy things after it but I agree that a lot of gamblers, especially those who gamble for profits, can barely accept defeat, they wouldn't be able to accept their losses and move on, and this is the reason why many gamblers chase their losses because they don't want to let go of their money and in trying to pursue that, they lose even more money and in some cases, as said, they do crazy stuff like spending everything they have while trying to recover their losses.

I think there can't be anything crazier than not stopping and spending every penny you have while trying to recover your losses while knowing how brutal gambling can be sometimes because you can literally witness a loss streak long enough to exhaust all your funds without giving you a single win.

And that's a dangerous point to be with. Because once you're not aware of your actions, you losses control of out of your risk. And if it becomes a significant negative number on your account,  those losses will hunt you down. You may do even crazier things or getting a loan, selling your house or cars to gamble it again and take your money back. What I am unhappy about is that, this type of thing repeats on different people and that's how they get broke.
Those people have no one to blame but themselves, because even if they try to place the blame on casinos or the governments that made gambling legal, at the end of the day no one forced them to gamble and they took that decision on their own, and if we add that the consequences of gambling addiction are widely known, and a quick search can bring to them hundreds of stories about people that went thought that experience, then they have no excuse, since they cannot claim to be ignorant about what it could happen if they lost themselves into gambling.

Exactly, I agree with your opinion that no matter what the situation is and no matter how many losses make us disappointed or emotional in the end we still can't do anything because after all it all happened because of our decision and because luck is far from us, As you said above that there is absolutely no coercion from any party to gamblers to gamble because it is all on their own will and decision, casinos only provide games and the government only gives licenses and maybe I will call you a loser if you don't accept all the conditions that occur at the end of the session especially defeat while gambling is always about winning or losing.

So that's why it's important to have a correct understanding of what gambling is, because if from the beginning you understand that losing will always be part of the results at the end of gambling then I think it's less likely for you to feel too emotional when you lose because I'm sure from the beginning you only dare to bet a small amount or an amount that you can afford the results, And another thing is that I agree with you that I think most gamblers now should already know about the bad effects that exist in gambling, there is a lot of evidence and examples of some predecessors who experienced downturns so with this then maybe they don't have a reasonable excuse to say “don't know”.

That's what I always believe and I will try to lecture myself if I feel like I will complain beause I lose. "No one force us to gamble", that's the truth, we gamble, we should understand that there's a risk of losing and sometimes we are too ambitious we do some crazy bets like multiple leg parlays with a small bet and huge win, and we know that it does only have a very slim chance of winning, but we are still hoping we could hit the jackpot one day without noticing that slowly we are losing money already. For me, I prefer a single bet like a 50% chance of winning or even a bit lower but parlay just don't give us a good chance, we can only win if we are too lucky.

If I start gambling, I will never do anything crazy there, I will always try to use my intelligence to make different decisions. If I decide on the spur of the moment or act on what my heart desires, then I will be harmed. I have learned that gambling is inherently risky, so always try to minimize the risk. I would never do anything in gambling that would increase the amount of money at risk.
It's good that you understand the risks and the positive and negative consequences of gambling, but I think everyone knows this when they are starting, it is just that they get carried away in the middle and then they forget everything and focus only on gambling more and more for some reason. If you start gambling, just remember that there is always a right time for you to stop gambling, if you understand and follow this, you won't be harmed at all.

Remember this all the time, whenever you see that you are constantly losing and have lost a significant amount of your bankroll, just stop right there because you won't magically hit a big win and get everything back, even though it happens to some, it doesn't have to happen to every gambler. Another right time for stopping is when you have won something good, if you don't stop at such a moment, you will most likely lose everything back to the house.

I can't imagine what it would be like if I dared to do something crazy to gamble, for example a gambling addict who has lost all his wealth because of gambling, and he is at the point of frustration by daring to sell his remaining assets such as a house, instead of hoping for his gambling. could give him victory but instead put him at the point of misery. It is really not recommended to do crazy things to gamble, but there have been many cases of people who dare to do crazy things to gamble.

Same here! I'm just wondering, those people who did something crazy about gambling are also those people who really can't control theirselves when it comes to betting, there are things they do that they are not totally aware of, because their minds are only focused on gambling and how to make money or return the money they lost, Because if a person is in the right mindset, they will not create any scandal or trouble in the gambling area.
I've seen its damage. This requires smarter thinking. It's about education and understanding desire psychology. Some people enjoy it, as long as they recognize their boundaries. We should educate them risk management and self-control instead of banning everything. This goes beyond money to personal power. Understanding your brain's workings frees you from impulses. Responsible gaming makes you mentally tough. We need to be practical, but let's encourage people to make their own decisions without judgment.
