Have you ever lost Bitcoin?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?
Yes I have lost some Bitcoins in my time as a Bitcoin user. Nothing bad happend like getting scammed or hacked or something. I just have lost some coins by online gambling that is the only reason why I lost some Bitcoins.

Yeah, I've lost BTC before.
So far, I lost it from PTC sites and trading. Because of that, I never invest my BTC on PTC sites anymore, and more careful when buy some alt coins.

Yes, it happened to me. I let my Electrum wallet without a password, and I sadly discovered someday that I got hacked, and my 0,08BTC, only about 16€ at this time, were forever lost Sad !

Wow thats very sad to hear, please tell me you were not using Linux as an OS, am pretty sure Windows can be hacked as fast as a blink of an eye. Still use a strong password and keep your seed secure. The only way hacker could have access to your PC is from malware or spyware which is very very common in Windows.

when i start i lost bitcoin in ponzi chema it was a really painful scam and the seconde time i lost a bigger amout by gambling but i learnd from my mistakes and i will not repeated again
thats good to hear that you decided to not try it ever again because i used to use it too and i iinvested into it a couple of times, unfortunately all of them were not profitable

now im just holding my bitcoins and willing that the price of it will grow sooner or later thus making me a lot of money in short period of time, i hope my predictions will be right and i will make big money

I have lost Bitcoins because of my own fault. I had a software wallet that was installed on my previous laptop and I didn't have a backup. So one day I dropped it and since it had a HDD it malfunctioned and the data got corrupted and unfortunately I couldn't recover my funds there. Lesson learned though always keep a backup somewhere.

Till now I didn't lost bitcoin anywhere as I won't prefer gambling and such ponzi games. But I heard from lot people saying that they lost their money In gambling and some related schemes. My suggestion is that don't invest more amounts here, if you are interested invest a little, so if you lost you don't want to worry lot much.

"Your own fault" or "were yo scammed" are the same thing if you ask me , because if you get scammed then it was your fault for not using escrow in your transaction or trusting people just like that or simply using reversible payment methods . and no , I never lost any bitcoins and I'm not planning to start now . Grin
Yep this is exactly what happened to me when I gave a no-collateral loan to a green trusted member.  I lost 0.3 btc, but though it stings it taught me a good lesson.  Always get collateral and don't trust anyone.

I didn't lose a lot... Only 300 bits to a multisig address (3R1oj9xhSexb8nW6Q7T3hpP7h8Rzuxoq4Q) that I tried generate but forgot to record down all the keys and redemption script required to access the coins... Essentially a burned address- a lesson learnt.

Nope can not say I have but I have over paid when it was near 1k! Thats got to be the same as losing bits.
That's a brutal loss dude, but I believe that you're going to be able to get your money back at some point. I'm not sure if you have any money right now, but the market seems to be moving relatively favorably, so maybe it is time to get back in on it.

Regardless though, it's your choice.

I have lost a small amount on 2 occasions.  One was when betarigs crashed had a couple mbtc in there.  The other one I knew I was going to lose.  It was a pyramid scheme faucet but I played enough to actually make money and didn't invest anything but time to do the captchas. Just lost the little bit that was left when the scam ended.
