One time I faced a situation like this. I mean I withdrew the BTC and I received it to my wallet lately with the help of the mining pool. Maybe it was the viabtc pool. It's a very rare time when bitcoin remains in the network. and the problem might be solved lately and it has a little risk. But when you will be a victim of scam exchange, the risk is more and you can be lost your money.

If the exchange is not scam or the destination wallet is not a scam too then, I think there's a few reason why you will not receive your coin.

  • The wallet address is wrong
  • The fee is too low and will takes days or even months to receive
  • The network is just traffic

I just want to share my experience regarding no.1. I put the wrong tag on the address but I still recover it using the support. So if any of you will put the wrong tag on transferring a coin (for example XRP) don't worry! you can still recover it as long as the exchange is legit and the exchange support is cooperating Smiley

To prevent something like this, make sure you use a reputable exchange, at least with a tx id displayed when they send your transaction so you can complains later if something went wrong. If you use an exchange which doesn't display or give you such thing, and they don't want to give it when you ask on support chat, there's a high chance they're scamming you.

On the other hand, there can be a case where the 2nd exchange that you use is the one who pull a scam, or just plain terrible. I know some exchanges that behave like this. You need to contact support just to make your balance refreshed every single time. They're simply a pain in the ass to deal with.

Have you ever deposited a currency in one of the sites or exchanges and did not receive the currency in your account.  I means that the withdrawal was already done in your first account but did not reach your second account on the other exchange and remained on the network. Is this possible? What can be done?
The only possible reason is that if the fee is very low. Check the blockchain of the coin and see how it goes. You didn't mention the exchange though, maybe you use some shady exchange and there are also the possibility that it may pull a exit scam. But as experiencing it, never, because I used top tier exchanges only.

A similar situation happened to me, it was not connected exclusively with the fact that the BTC network was busy, and the commission set by me was not enough for quick confirmation by the network.
In the end, I found a lot of information on how to speed up this process, but decided not to rush and wait. The transaction was confirmed a day later and the funds successfully came to my account.

There're are too many factors that might the reason why you didn't receive your Bitcoin or other cryptos from the exchange platform you used.
Yes, I'd experienced this several times, I contacted the team and ask them or see the further announcement of the exchange if there is maintenance activity.

You can do this advice if you still didn't receive it yet.
  • Check your history on the exchange you used if you can trace the transaction history
  • Contact the support team and ask what happen
  • Read the TOS if how many hours it should be confirmed
  • Wait at least 24 hours if there's no respond yet
  • Re-check the address you've used and just make it sure that is correct
  • Re-check the exchange platform you used and make it sure that isn't phishing site

This commonly happens if the exchange you used is something that has shady activity. Occasionally, the transactions aren't accepted by the rest of the network and probably are never considered to be confirmed.

I have never been in such a situation because I am very careful in filling out wallet information. But I also know a lot of cases of money being locked in exchanges. If you can not withdraw, it is certainly due to the exchange system, maybe due to too many withdrawals at the same time so it is lag and error occurs. Worse case is that the CEO of exchange is a fraud and he has imprisoned all your money. That's why we should only trade in big exchanges like Binance, Huobi and Okex.
Agree! Sometime shit happens like this. Be careful when filling out the information of your wallet is the best way you can do to avoid wrong address! Furthermore, the situation may happen because of the high withdrawing volume. Just wait a few days and then email the customer service team to ask if you still can't receive the money!

This can happen but it is unlikely. Unless you have placed the wrong address. It also depends on how much Gwei or Gas you use for the transaction. If you use the lowest amount of Gwei it's possible that the transaction will fail and when that happens it the tokens usually goes back to your wallet. But there are some cases that the transaction will come through after a few hours.

In fact, this is a very rare occurrence, but it is possible. This can happen when fees are low. As a result of the many transfers, congestion occurs in the network. Usually, miners take transactions whose fees are higher at first, so if the transaction fees are low, they may remain stuck in the network for a long time. In this case, you should use the Accelerators service such as:
