OP already joined a year's ago and this is not quite convincing that you are having struggle into getting merits
I am sure not all beginners are those who dont understand about bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency have been well presented by various media and allow one to learn more without having to use discussion forums. There are two possibilities if a beginner can post quality things, it will usually be considered an alt from someone who is already established or they are educated beginners who come late to the forum.

Merits do not matter here if you want just to learn more knowledge,
Contributions begin with desires and sometimes these desires do not arise initially for various reasons. Contributions will be rewarded with merit and it is a gift for those who care about the quality of posts that benefit others and forums. Everyone can contribute, but not everyone is able to do it especially for those who are lazy to learn.

OP already joined a year's ago and this is not quite convincing that you are having struggle into getting merits because you already one of the elder with a long rank and it's looks like you are an altcoin account because most of your post is not convincing enough to get a merit. Some of your content you are not new into the world of this forum because you have a lot of quoted and created a thread that is a lot of information. Those accounts are already busted and I think you are just using a lower account just to send merits to your higher accounts just to make a merits trading but if you are just a newbie you will reply to our comments about this post and make a defense on your self.

Merits do not matter here if you want just to learn more knowledge this is the most essential thing we need right here because there are a lot of ideas and contents you could use into your future knowledge and skills may apply merit may see as a reflection to your number of contribution and help you the other members and by that, you can use this now as to apply to the campaigns.

I agree probably he just needs to continue being active here in the forum looking at his post history he already doing a lot of work and I could say good post here in the forum. You don't need to worry about the merit just be active and learn here in the forum merits will surely come in the process. There is no secret or tricks to get merit here because merit is given by the other users so its either you have a good post or you have a helpful post for them. A lot of members are not going to like it if you continue to make topics about merits since a lot of established members don't like it here. It would be best to stop talking about it probably a lot of members is going to think that you goal is just ranking up.

I personally think that there is no easy way up. Gaining tons of merits and eventually ranking up doesn't happen in just a snap or in a blink of an eye.

It takes lot of effort to achieve what you want. In fact, that doesn't apply solely in this forum. In every aspect of life, we have to give the best we've got. There are members here who climbed their way up to their hero and legendary ranks. But it didn't happen because of luck or because of begging for merits. They did their part—create an informative, relevant, and timely thread, and/or post with good quality.

However, I understand that even when you think that you did everything, you just feel like no one seems to notice because after all, every member here has their own criteria before giving one a merit. But no need to feel too downhearted about it. Just make it a challenge and improve yourself.

Go to the links mentioned before this response, and read them. And as I usually say here in this forum, aim to gain knowledge and to learn first, then other things will follow—including merits. Grin

I do understand how it feels not having the desirable merits of the post made so far. You shouldn't belittle yourself that your post doesn't count for it not to be merited on. Each of every member of this forum longs for merits but the only sure way to that is to post constructively, be consistent and be yourself. Try as much as to be reading other peoples suggestion about a post to enable you to gain more knowledge about crypto before giving your own opinion

Sometimes that's what newbies actually feel since whatever efforts they do sometimes they will get less prio getting merits since they are less to be notice, But they shouldn't get discourage with it and make this a challenge since for sure when their contents will be seen helpful to the others or informative then provably they will get those merits from the other users here.

There is no hidden truth or secret here 😁
So many newbies join this forum with hope to join some paid project and earn money.
Very quickly they realized that without reputation and higher forum ranks they can't do much on this forum.
So,  it seems that 99% newbies talks only about merits here 😁
In fact,  you should invest your time and effort in order to contribute to this forum and find a way how to help and support other members.
If you do so than you don't need to worry about merits.
It's very simple but no so many new members practise it.

I guess this OP is looking for merits because he or she wants to rank up or maybe because he is in low rank he can not join to some activity here.
Anyway getting merits is not just like a snap of your fingers "I want merits", people who are in the position of giving you merits can give you easily if your post is constructive and very informative and can help the community here. It will just come if you work for it. Many people who are eligible of giving merits can read our post and maybe if they can see that you deserve one then I guess they will.

Honestly it's a bit hard to gain merits, even if you've already did the dont's and dont. You're lucky if someone finds your comments interesting an gave you some merits. Pray for luck always. Smiley

It's pretty easy to not break the rules, you only need don't shitpost, off-topic and plagiarism, that's all. It's not about the lucky person to give you merit, but the quality post your create. You should understand about how to make high quality post and helping member in this forum. I believe people and merit sources is always read our post, if you don't get merit, it's because your quality post is low and not deserve a merit.

Even if you think your post is very helpful and have high quality, you can report your post to merit sources here [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

According to your trust feedback I know the reasons why you said to gain merits is hard https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2507350

I think already enough give him a suggestion since we already have a bunch of suggestions from different people at this thread and a lot of thread "How getting a merits".

If you look at his history post, he already backs to his habits to the social media bounty hunter so maybe he will not responding anymore since he already got 1 merits for the bounty. Also he have a few alt accounts and using them for the bounty, so basically he already aware of the forum.

OP registered about 1.5 years ago and only has 15 posts--that might be part of the problem.  On the other hand, I bet he's got more accounts than just this one.

First of all, congratulations for your first merit Cheesy. I hope you are inspired now.

Anyway, let's go back to the topic. Hmm, I visit your post history for a minute and assess it in order to give you a suitable advice. Here are the following:

1) Improve your English writing. I sometimes get confused as I read your posts (like your first post in this thread). I think you are lack of using of punctuatiin marks and proper phrasing. Improve your way of conveying ideas Smiley.
2) As you grow here, you should learn how to go outside. There are lots of sub boards in this forum which may poke your interests. Do not isolate yourself here in the Beginners & Help or other services sections. More knowledge awaits for you, be courageous.

If you wanted to gain a lot of merits and at the same time to learn more, try to read my recent thread:

How does creating topics improve you a lot?

It'll give a lot of ideas how will you create a thread that will help you to gain more merits. One of the advantages of making threads is you really know the topic very well and you can discuss it precisely. By that, there's chance of getting merits if someone appreciates your statements or effort on making those threads. There are many good advice also, please read them and take it seriously 'cause all of it is true. Good luck on your journey bud!

At least you took the time to seek clarification... can't fault you for that! It can be difficult admitting that you don't know or don't understand something, especially when everyone else around you seems to already have the knowledge.

Just asking for farther elaboration on the topic. Sorry, probably should have worded it differently.

People like to say there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers... but then again, your question has been asked (and answered) multiple times. So, it is probably classified as an "unnecessary question".

If you're already in the "Beginners & Help" (aka B&H) section, you should really have read the sticky posts at the top like this one:
Sorry, I read that and thought at first it meant only activity or merit and then when I read this post I wasn't sure. Re-read it and realized people needed both. Now I know. I know that it probably was a fairly dumb misunderstanding, but it is the beginner's help forum isn't it?

As what have you said, merit is really important, merit will only be given to you if you are posting well or creating topics that are considered as useful or helpful to others. Merits can get by other people, once you created a great post and someone appreciates it then he or she may give you merits.

It is really hard to get merit,  so it requires experience and time, do not be saad if you have low merit as of now  because you are only a beginner and we have experienced it too. Just keep creating useful posts to get merit.

I merit stuff that informs, entertains or makes me think. A good question is just as worthy as a good answer.

I think the most important thing is to be yourself. Your posts so far say nothing. They have no personality. You seem to be writing what you think people want to hear but they've read it a billion times already. This forum is overflowing with that.

The unique thing you have to offer that no one else has is - you. Don't pretend to be anyone else. Don't attempt to please anyone else. Give us more of you.

For instance, you're in Bangladesh. Write a post about Bitcoin's situation there. I'd be very curious to hear about it as we don't get much information from there.

There are different ways on how to earn merit. There are rules to be followed about getting merit. Merit selling, trading, begging are not allowed or you'll get red tagges by dt members. Creating helpful post are one of the way that you can earn merit. Some people even get merit because of their post that are funny and still related to the discussed topic.

The only way is to forget about merits and post normally, do this, post normally for a couple of weeks without checking how much merits you have earnt. After the term, check and you will surely be surprised by how many you got if your posts are good, or even if they are just normal but with some sense. Basically, you gotta spend more time here and blend in into the community Smiley

First of all, Merits should not be your main purpose to post here, because most often that results in spam. Just try to contribute to the community in a good way, have proper (and most often crypto-related) discussions. You are not new on this forum according to your registration date, but you're barely active here (15 total posts), so why would you care about merits anyway? Just be here, look around, read forum rules, suggestions and all that, but never ask for it.

Merit is not your main goal here in the forum. It's about learning and sharing your knowledge with others. You said you are working hard to earn merit, I won't question your hard work but, it's not enough. You are still starting here in the forum, don't expect you will easily get merit. Other users take years to get a higher rank.

To answer your question, you can earn merit by giving quality posts here. Make use of your knowledge and skills, then share it with us. Try looking at some posts here with a lot of merits, then try to understand what makes that post-worthy of merits. And to correct your thinking, you can't get merits right away. It takes time and effort. Like what I always say, giving merit depends on each of us. If I think your post is good enough, then I can give you one. There are no certain criteria for receiving merits, but it has to be useful and informative.

Also:
But I think my afford isn't so good to get merit quickly as I am working hard though I am not getting any merit because of my posts.
If you write English like the above, it isn't likely members are going to shower you with merit.  You might have more luck on one of the local boards.  In any case, earning merit isn't rocket science--you just have to write posts that are interesting or funny or otherwise catch the attention of members with merit to give.  And you've obviously been a member of bitcointalk for a while, so this is something you ought to know already.

As I've suggested in the past, try taking a look at the post history of members who've earned a lot of merits, see how they're doing it.  Part of it depends on which sections you're posting in, but mostly it's post quality (note: not post length).

I don't find you doing that even in this post. Where are you from, basically? Maybe you should try posting in your local board and then you may earn Merits for your posts if they are worthy, because you clearly are not a constructive English poster.

Before you dream of earning 1 merit, you need to improve your attitude and mentality. If other people can earn merit, it means you also can do it. Don't shut your potential down with a sense of pessimism. Be confident and think big!!

I suggest never set your target for merits but how you can improve your capability (post quality, knowledge, understanding, etc) & contribution to the forum (report spams, help others, follow discussions, etc). Remember that people will give you merits once your posts deserve for it. Good luck!!

If you don't mind me asking, why earn Merit quickly?

xavier has posted some useful links, but rushing to gain them isn't the right way because members here can smell desperation.

You can gain merits in populated sections like Meta and Beginners, but everyone else are also hunting for Merits, just like you. There are like (subtly) different guides posted often and competition is strong but at the same time, they have good exposure.

I can give an example of Merit-worthy topic; the forum stats (e.g. how many users ranked up since the month of February). You'd need some proficient knowledge on a data analytics software but results are also interesting.
