Some hidden gems for long term are Accelerator Network and Neufund this year. Both are still in early stages and I think both will see some nice gains in 2018 sooner or later. Just have some time to hold and you will be happy!
ITNS, XSPEC, ELIX and many more which I can think of right now. Also, many people have eyes on VEN and DeepOnion too
During this bitcoin's dip, all my coins are down in satoshi value but in USD it stays the same. But there is one coin in my portfolio that doesn't go down in sat value and it's Syscoin.
Syscoin will release their masternode very soon probably at the end of this month, so less than 10 days. People are accumulating this coin, I expect the price to go up a lot when we are near the end of this month and after that it will dump.

My hidden gem would be SAFEX.
Big things due to happen in about April-May when it stops piggy-backing on the Bitcoin Blockchain...

ARDOR - NXT 2.0 - 75% down from ATH in USD (accumulation zone) - can do 10x this year
RLC - Cloud Super Computing - very bullish on this one for long term HODL - 60-70% down from ATH in USD - can do 10x this year maybe more.

Why should anyone invest in a token which has an old idea and no value not in a mean way but there are loads of other tokens like this and people are paying with no even hint at the coin gaining value.

I have been reading through various threads from around a month ago about coins that were worthless that have jumped hugely such as xtrabytes and raiblocks. I'm curious to see if anyone has a token or coin that they think is a hidden gem and will take off this year?
saw a lot of coins that have grown very much in price, but nobody counted on their growth. I myself had several such coins, so I did not immediately remember how they were called, but I earned them well. 
Hidden gems is the good term for this situation. But what is a hidden gem? Something
that you can buy now, or mine now and to wait that to be expensive one day?
I think many projects have a potential to go much higher in the future. Hidden gems are
everywhere. Some of them will rise x2 some will rise x2000, and many will be somewhere in
the middle.
Only conclusion is to have many of them. Some more in which you trust more, and some
less, but have it just in case something great happens with them.
