My card keeps getting declined from the BTCFPGA website. Is it because Tom is switching to the new site or is it something else?

I know my bank actually had a block on the entire all of new york because of the high number of fraud claims, they said they only release funds if the client calls first and has to give them the exact amount and the exact company that will be charging the card, and only lets that through.  After the charge it goes back to blocking all of new york again.

Also yes please note the cut-off for pre-orders for the 1st batch shipment in December is midnight tonight 12:00AM EST

If you want shipment in December you need to order before 12:00AM EST

As far as a second batch nothing is set in stone yet as far as dates or when I will take orders again. I know I said Jan 1st but that may change, it really depends on a lot of different factors, I will keep you updated on that.

The main thing for me right now is I need to focus on managing this thing and make sure those units are going out the door in December.

Heading over to the new shop - still got a lot of work to do over there to get it ready.

I will be taking and returning phone calls today

I am sorry but I wont be taking pre-orders for the second batch until January 1st 2013, things are just so hectic right now and I need to be able to focus on the logistics and planning required to get 800+ boards loaded, tested and shipped, throw in some time to help with tech support and customer service of first customers - maybe I will even get a little rest Tongue

I think its an OMEN! Tonights the cutoff of pre-orders, and I didnt think I was going to get paid until end of the week. I was paid TODAY (early), and was able to get the pre-order in. Whew! Can't wait for it to arrive Smiley

At least in Italy the moment you receive the goods you have to pay for the importation taxes.
I paid it in the past even for hardware keys.

Howeve if you can find a way not to pay it inside the eu, well, that would be a lot of money saved.

Can you tell us more about the power supply? What do we have to buy?

I'd like to know this also.

me too Cheesy  Of course this would mean he would have to give us power requirements which he has stated he wants to wait until he can say for sure what it will be.

@Odi: spot on, thanks!

@benco: seriously, you would go and fill out a tax declaration and pay almost a quarter of the amount to your state at your time expense and frustration ? I'm not saying you shouldn't but would you ? Seriously that would be my last thought and I wouldn't go pay it, unless the tax man comes to my door and fills in all the papers or sends me by email with everything already filled out. Its their duty, not mine to waste my time to fill out their forms. First you'd go to your local Fiscal Administration waste couple of hours, then you go in line to the local Treasury and effectively pay the VAT.. sounds like 1-2 days wasted to give your state money for a product that is build outside of your state and for which they have no contribution ?

yes, since I will ask for VAT refund later:)

Don't know if this is the case but I've tried to calculate and this is what I've managed to pull out(0%): http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/measures.jsp?Lang=en&SimDate=20121022&Area=US&Taric=8542399000&LangDescr=en

yes, it seems that there is a 0% duty for this kind of computer hardware..

Avalon has stated they are aiming for 130nm to 110nm.

Avalon is TSMC 110nm G

:applause:

Are you sure you're not tempted to start a bet about this? Surely you could've at least posted an angry video where Avalon team denounces the competition's evil child worker scam? Perhaps all in your hallowe'en costumes?

You see, Avalon have been a great deal more professional in their conduct than anyone else (despite my bawling at their pre-order DNS resolution debacle). And I think they deserve some credit for that, when you consider how much focus has ended up on the mud-slinging (had to edit this to make sure it didn't sound like I was mud-slinging at the mud-slingers, lol).

I hope you do this as I'm pretty sure he edited a post earlier in this thread, although I have no proof. Apparently he has issues with this in the past...

Yep, there it is.  I love when people accuse me of this, because you look like such a dolt when I explain that you can see when a post was edited last if you use the default forum skin... and just like the last dolt who accused me of this, you are also full of so much fail. Sad

I was wondering why I couldn't see edits when I was using the default forum skin, but I didn't have time until tonight to figure it out.

Do not use the Forum or Board Default, which is what 67k people are using.  That is the Bitcoin Theme without last edits.  Use the SMF Default Theme - Core, which is the default theme that came with the forum software.  Only 30 people are using this theme.
Thanks for that. People can find it in their account at the following link:

Thanks for the board size (4"x9"), can you tell us the height of the hardware?
I will install the miner in 19" cases with 4HE, so the height is important for me.  Wink

Tom, this information would be very interesting also for me.

Thanks Smiley
