I may be visiting a friend in Washington (state) and stay until mid December, is it possible to change the shipping adress on a short term basis (as I'm from Germany and will only benefit from the change if I get the bASIC before flying back home)? I'm asking because it could save me ~210$ of taxes when I get it in the U.S. and take it back home with me.

Looks like the new website is up. While it looks like we can still pre-order, it says they'll be put into batch 2, shipping in Jan of 2013.

@Tom,

In the current bASIC description about power connector type it reads:
Code:
* Optional 4 Pin molex or DC barrel connector for power

Is this mistake (as you stated before all boards will have both) or should I be able to specify power connector type before actual shipping my order?

the boards have both - your option is which one to use Smiley

I live in Europe and use 220-230v power. So instead of buying and using a Voltage transformer (20lb+ expensive brick) I could just use a computer power supply and connect the the ASIC units to the molex output?

That's what I plan on doing. Wish the BFL unit had this, but the BFL is probably more aesthetically pleasing.

Why is it so damn hot in here?
along with using world readable dates like 22nd November rather that 22/11 or 11/22 - which is confusing.
may I suggest using "last week of November" or "first week of December" or similar rather than "one week after "? sorry, thanksgiving means nothing in my country.
Including a UTC time alongside local cutoffs would be great too.

You are servicing a worldwide market Tom, please take a moment to consider international customers when making announcements Smiley

Hey, it's not Tom's fault the rest of the world fails to learn the proper date format, or holidays.

USA!  USA!  USA!

Okay, all this typing has exhausted me, I'm going to go get a Super Big Gulp and a Double Whopper with cheese.

@Tom
Can you say something about the height of the boards?
I want to install them in 19" cases.(4HE)
Do you think it's possible?

From Tom's previous statements I think that means that you have the option to use either the barrel connector or the 4 pin plug.

Hopefully it's a good sign for power consumption. The 4pin Molex connector is only rated at 11A, which would be ~130W. Most 2.5mm ID / 5.5mm OD barrel jacks are rated for less than 10A, as well (5A being the most common without multiple contacts).
