Im new at Hiveos,

--win 10 64 bit  Claymore dual, ETH only,   sapphire rx550 4 gb, 12.000-13.000 h/s x 4    +  MSI rx560 4gb, 15.200 h/s x1   = 65.000 h/s  445 watt OTW /  downvolt ---- 60.500 h/s     360 watt

--Hiveos -         Claymore dual, ETH only,   sapphire rx550 4 gb, 11.500 h/s x 4               +  MSI rx560 4gb, 15.300 h/s x2   = 76.200 h/s  480 watt OTW / no reasonable downvolt

Im using Hiveos because when i added sixth card (msi rx560) windows got problems with it that i cant solve. I have unplugged the card and go back five cards but problems still continue. So im using hiveos

but its using more power than Windows and thats not good.

MSi Afterburner is not working with my win 10, i used TRIXX.

It isn't.

Babbling your nonsense in multiple forums doesn't make it so.

Perhaps you would speak to why Avast thinks it is?

Most mining software (not hive itself) triggers all sorts of malicious warning with anti virus programs its normal.

Hive OS does not contain a trojan

I have been successfully using claymore on Windows 10 for 3 months. However, I wanted to switch to Linux for the sake of stability. I tried both HiveOS and SimpleOS. However, apparently claymore connects to ethermine and then the shares get rejected and it disconnects and tries again. It was exactly the same result in both HiveOS and SimpleOS. I also tried to start the miner manually myself, in order to rule out the possibility that it might be due to some bad config, however, it was still the same result.

Here is the screenshot:

I would really appreciate any input on this.

do we have to install the new images fresh or can we just click update?

Update if you are coming from an older build and image if its a fresh install

The image and the update are not the same:

0.5-45 IMAGE RELEASE 2018-04-19

    Logs are OFF by default
    Linux 4.13 kernel
Installed ROCm with AMD driver to support Vega
    Configs partition is now NTFS
Intel's E1000E updated network driver by default

0.5-45 2018-04-17

    NEW: cpuminer-opt
ethminer 0.14 and 0.15 in the box, version can be selected in the wallet
    amdmeminfo updated

I wonder how good vegas work on this vs windows

I'm going to let others try first.

One thing you need to be aware of is that the Vega's must be installed in x16 slots. Risers won't work.

I do have a HP DL580 G7 that qualifies so I will keep a lookout for results.

Do an image install if you want to be on Linux 4.13. If you do the update only you will still be on 4.10

So my question is how can I change HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm" and make it stick even if rebooting?

You should change it on the rig's page also. In admin. In server urls dialog

I am on the FREE version of HiveOS with my three rigs. I have looked on the Rigs page and everywhere else and nowhere do I see "admin" or "server urls dialog". Is that only available on the paid version?

I got over the original issue by installing the latest HiveOS image 0.5-45. When starting it picked as the default "https://api.hiveos.farm". It then updated itself to 0.5-46 and asked for Rig number and password. It downloaded the proper configuration and is mining great using XMR-Stak for GPUs and CPUs on nanopool.

With that done I thought that HiveOS (https://the.hiveos.farm/a/profile/rigs) would show that is is back online. But that is not the case it still shows that it is offline. I cleared the browser cache and logged out then back into HiveOS but the offline issue still persists.

The HiveOS Rigs page shows the proper version 0.5-46 (which it had to get from the physical rig) also when the first run was done (Rig number, password) the rig communicated with the hive server to get the proper configuration for XMR-Stak.

So communication is working between the rig and HiveOS servers but the stubborn RED Rig OFFLINE is always present.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

---------------------------

EDIT: 04/21/18

Problem was finally resolved today.

Running net-test on the rig now does not show https://api.hiveos.farm:41282 at all.

In booting rig it still showed that it was failing to connect to https://api.hiveos.farm:41282.

I then ran firstrun -f and used the default https://api.hiveos.farm.

Rebooting rig now has the problem solved. Rig uses the https://api.hiveos.farm and now shows that it is ONLINE.
