I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. Cry
Never heard of this coin but am surprised thats its 21 st on coinmarketcap rankings and am sure for you to sell the coins you wanted the money for something agent which lead to this sale...there is always next time dont lose hope

Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. Smiley I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.
am inspired by this experience of yours which has cost you some good profit, i hope everyone including myself else do do not develop cold feet with the coins we currently hodl

for sure i will hold iota for a years or atleast half of years. i believe it will sky rocket in few month and i dont want to regret to sell iota undervalue. i been regret my decision to sell ripple on 0.4$ now its almost 1$ thats my biggest decision for me

Do you believe Iota will go big in coming few months or not?

I'm also holding IOTA. Actually it is one of the coins that I believe has very good potential in the future. Yes it will go big this coming few months. Aside from that, I also belive in Xtrabytes. It is still undervalued. Buy now while its price is very cheap. This one, I will surely hold it no matter what happens.

Actually currencies are good to hold , i don't sell of my coin untimely anymore not to regret my actions later, though when i started and was very inexperienced i flip my coins immediately the coin dips.

I made this decision a very long time ago when I learnt my lessons. There is no point being in a haste if you are an investor and you believe in a coin. Most of these coins will do better than they are right now in the nearest future. If I am not buying when there is a very good opportunity right now, I have told myself that one thing. HODL!

Sometimes, we have done mistakes in decision. Cheer up it's not too late to hodl a coin if you believe it would pump as you've expected. Im gonna hodl my tokens now like EQL and SGR maybe they have the potential for making me rich. But too much expectations would break our hearts in the end if it's not gonna happen.

Can someone please explain: why "hodl"? Why not "hold"? Does hodl mean hold or what?

It should be hold but there was one time when a drunk member of a forum (I don't know if it is this forum) accidentally posted HODL instead of HOLD and since then, people are now using the term HODL. They have the same meaning.

Well Sir erickkyut have said it right. It must be treated as lesson learned. Even if we know for a fact that cryptocurrency have a very volatile value we sometimes tend and triggered to sell our investment coin for personal reasons. It's a tough truth that we sometimes learn the hard way. Maybe you can change your strategy, if you're thinking of selling your coins dont go all the way. Leave some, maybe 40% - 60% that way when the price gies up you still have some coins that you hold in which you can sell for higher value.

You bought it again this time after it's already pumped? i'm a bit afraid to buy something that already increase a lot, especially if the increase only took 1 day to happen. I also have a similiar story, but for me it's bitshare, i bought it at 1300 sathosi and wait 1 week without movement, decided to sell it and three days later the price went up until 3000 satoshi.

In my opinion, I guess it's better if they sell it immediately our coins when it was fall down. Because if they hold it for long term there's a possibility that they were gain losses, other than that if they make a wrong decision during selling of bitcoin or any other crypto currency. We just need to accept the fact that they can make wrong thinking maybe we regret or not acceptance can set our free.

I used to experience regret so many times because of panic selling whenever bitcoin value drops and I really feel so bad when I see bitcoin value pump after selling my bitcoin I admit I don't have so much trust with bitcoin and I always feel anytime it will crashed and lose its value but after experiencing those things I learn now that's why even the value of bitcoin is dropping now I'm still holding my coins and wait till it pump again

Now that you mentioned it, I guess alt coins aren't that established and stable as Bitcoin so safer to not hold for too long.

No, it is way too risky to just hodl your alts. For bitcoin it will work, but for altcoin just use trailing stop loss -10-15% if you see 2-3x profits. Don't be greedy, this is a volatile market and you could get away with nothing. It is same thoughts why I didn't buy BTH at 400 usd, just useless regrets.
