I agree we do not know what will be more profitable so the best approach is to put half of your money into bitcoin and half in alts.
Both are good,, better split your funds to buy and hold more bitcoin also buy alt in the bottom
For now I will hold most of my coins in bitcoin and maybe some time this year trying to buy some coins. However, many altcoins are picking up a bit and some of them I tempting to buy. Bitcoin has been doing well lately and converting bitcoin to any coins is not currently good. Moreso, when bitcoin is in bearish I will buy altcoins like litecoin, ethereum and neo as there will get pump some months from now.

I prefer to buy at dips and sell at highs. So its time to buy for me.
